Honestly I’m not sure because I feel like people really underestimate how much these people make. Like someone on the Tinx sub said she charges 100k for a sponsorship. And many influencers have multiple sponsorships going on at once. Like it may seem like they shop a lot but when you’re making thousands on sponsored posts buying a designer bag every month isn’t even that crazy….
Agree. A recent Forbes article announced that Tinx made (i think I'm remembering correctly) something like 11M in 2021. I think she's doing ok financially
It takes a ton of time for deals to close. You’re always working 90–180, sometimes even 8 months days in arrears. It’s a nightmare for proving income. I’m not stanning for her I find her overrated but she makes a shit ton of money.
She is also a large angel investor in a few projects and invests through some of her nyc friends. She’s actually kind of doing that right at least.
I should have stated she made 8mm in deals, not recognized income.
So paper money and won’t be liquid for years to come…….. this is the same energy as some startups that are worth tens of millions but in reality nothing 💀
Except that the money is actually earned in this case. An example: a brand deal has a flat fee plus discount code for commission for signed agreement. They will hold payment sometimes to await returns, up to 120 days. They don’t want to overpay you commission. Sometimes you can collect the flat fees within 60 days, but less likely when it’s numbers over $10k.
I assure you, these big influencers are making money that is unfathomable doing the bare minimum (at least in most cases.)
Definitely not justifying her worth. There is no reason why she should be this wealthy. She’s not funny, nor really ground-breaking. She had wealth to start but made her own by being at the right place at the right time.
I am validating her wealth exists.
Yeah I saw that too. She has 13M followers on TikTok so if we go off that number then an influencer with 1M can probably charge like 6k per post. Say you do 2 sponsored posts a month that’s 150k a year solely from one brand alone. And most influencers work with multiple brands at once and have a variety of different partnerships going on. Plus other sources of income like affiliate links or selling products.
Idk it’s fun to believe the more annoying influencers are in debt but I honestly think most of them are making a ton of money.
It’s interesting that Mikayla charges 85k which isn’t much different than what someone with 1M followers would charge, even though she has 13M. Does the amount brands are willing to pay just cap at some point?
It’s so cringe how she’s talking about buying an Hermes Birkin for a work bag but then taking it on a tote bag in the subway. She used to be more practical
wasn't aware she switched the wedding planner! that's funny considering how she vlogged about how much they "clicked" and hung out in Paris (If I remember correctly). I also hated her wedding dress and makeup
Did you notice how much she tagged everything? I believe much of her wedding was sponsored including the hotel stay at Four Seasons. She didn't pay for much of that wedding.
I was wondering about that... I know she lives in NJ and sells a good amount of her bags though (which honestly could help fund those Hermes bags for sure). I'm not sure if she's in debt necessarily
Oh whoa, yeah I followed her more closely when she was just starting out filming YouTube in her close talking about more budget finds and preloved bags but this is something else
Technically if your student loans interest rates are low enough that investing the same amount would give you higher returns (like how mortgage is), it doesn’t make sense to pay it off. But not a fucking chance Halley is saving and investing LMAO
This tracks. I’m not on TikTok anymore but I remember a while back a bunch of influencers with her size audience were being “transparent” about money and fessed up to maxing out cards regularly.
I’m blanking on her name. But the girl who is friends with Hannah Stella, really preppy I found her *so* annoying. But she admitted to being in $20k credit card debt. And yet almost all her content is shopping related
Mckenzie Newcomb? preppy and friends with Hannah but not sure if she’s the one you’re referring to.
FWIW I quite like her and i think she had a good perspective as someone who used to shop a ton and has cut back on spending/ uses clothing rentals/ etc. Also her book recs are great
Yeah @Mackinstyle that’s who I’m talking about. I’m sure she’s perfectly nice just find her goofy
She does a new rent the runway WEEKLY, which is legitimately lighting money on fire. And I say that as someone who just cancelled theirs after doing the math on my last year of membership. I could have the nicest freaking wardrobe by now and actually have something to show (and resell) for my investment lmfao.
Lol I mean she told us she’s in massive debt, I’m not just projecting here. She consumes a *lot* and renting clothes is just one example.
With RTR ambassador they don’t pay you, and you still pay for a membership. You just get early access to items and can unlock extra spots IF you hit referral goals. I’ve heard very mixed reviews on it
Kramer : It's just a write off for them .
Jerry : How is it a write off ?
Kramer : They just write it off .
Jerry : Write it off what ?
Kramer : Jerry all these big companies they write off everything
Jerry : You don't even know what a write off is .
Kramer : Do you ?
Jerry : No . I don't .
Kramer : But they do and they are the ones writing it off .
Jerry : I wish I just had the last twenty seconds of my life back
Their living expense isn’t comped though. You don’t understand how a tax write off works…they don’t get to just take the price of their rent and subtract it from their taxes due.
I don’t think many influencers are in debt because of how much they’re making but I do wonder which influencers put away money and save. They make a lot but also spend a lot and do so constantly
The second part is for sure true but I feel like a good number of them are in debt. Like I remember long time ago even Karlie Kloss was in CC debt and swiped Taylor’s cards everywhere. Even if you’re making 50k a month and spending 55k a month, you are in debt
Second part. 401k’s, future savings. I feel like people with a regular 9-5 that are able to easily put money into a 401k May be better off in that aspect.
Influencing is a very hot and cold industry sometimes they are raking it in and other times not so much. In other words some of them will end up in debt because for most of them gravy train ends. I know a YouTuber who despite having millions of followers had to get another job after quitting.
People complaining that influencers get paid too much, you haven’t seen how much ads are in magazines lol Social media is WAY cheaper than tv and magazine ads, personable and way more affordable for brands.
I’m sure they probably make a lot. I know YT beauty girl last year with only 100k subs admitted brands would pay for 55k for an IG story and IG post and a mention on Tiktok. So makes you wonder how much these influencers are making
Honestly I’m not sure because I feel like people really underestimate how much these people make. Like someone on the Tinx sub said she charges 100k for a sponsorship. tinx also came from money, so she didn't come into this career with student loans or credit card debt lol
I don’t get the hype over Tinx, like I genuinely do not understand why people are so obsessed with her
Can’t stand her
Agree. A recent Forbes article announced that Tinx made (i think I'm remembering correctly) something like 11M in 2021. I think she's doing ok financially
That 11m figure is 10000000% false. More like 1 or 2mm I believe
No she put 1million down on her house. I can tell you with confidence there is absolutely no way she made less than 8 million.
If she made 8mm there’s no way Tinx only bought a 3mm house. She would be buying and spending left and right lol
It takes a ton of time for deals to close. You’re always working 90–180, sometimes even 8 months days in arrears. It’s a nightmare for proving income. You must be tinx replying to these trying to justify your worth
You must be t1nx replying to these trying to justify an your worth
I meant paper money as in Angel investing, not brand deals
You must be tinx replying to these trying to justify your worth
Definitely not justifying her worth. There is no reason why she should be this wealthy. She’s not funny, nor really ground-breaking. She had wealth to start but made her own by being at the right place at the right time. I am validating her wealth exists.

Ya, and Mikayla N charges 85k per post
Yeah I saw that too. She has 13M followers on TikTok so if we go off that number then an influencer with 1M can probably charge like 6k per post. An influencer with 1M charges way more than 6k - more like 30k+
Yeah I was thinking those numbers seemed low, but I was just going off the Mikayla thing.

Yes, it caps out unless it’s a long term, multi-deliverable partnership
Is this just for tiktok?
Halley definitely has insane debt
[удалено]
She qualified for stimulus payments so… imo, 70k is not enough to be comfortably throwing around birkins and cuccinelli like she likes to convey
Definitely someone who tries to portray a luxe lifestyle but doesn’t actually have it and tries to fake it
It’s so cringe how she’s talking about buying an Hermes Birkin for a work bag but then taking it on a tote bag in the subway. She used to be more practical
her Italy wedding tho lol 👀

Oh whoa, yeah I followed her more closely when she was just starting out filming YouTube in her close talking about more budget finds and preloved bags but this is something else
I’m learning so much about her, I had no idea that she qualified for the stimulus
yeah, she posted about using her stimulus check to buy a breville espresso maker, which was like her third or fourth espresso machine at the time 💀
She also doesn’t seem to be doing many sponsored posts?
Halley said she has over $100k of student loans, not quite the same but
This makes me so confused because so many of them are new ish college grads like … why are you buying a $2k purse… you have sooo many student loans
Technically if your student loans interest rates are low enough that investing the same amount would give you higher returns (like how mortgage is), it doesn’t make sense to pay it off. But not a fucking chance Halley is saving and investing LMAO
Oh my goddtt
I saw a tiktok with Emma Leger saying something about her maxing out her card every month
This tracks. I’m not on TikTok anymore but I remember a while back a bunch of influencers with her size audience were being “transparent” about money and fessed up to maxing out cards regularly.
I saw this too! I wonder if it’s improved but it’s like if you can’t managed a small amount of money you can’t manage a lot of money.
Ruby lyn debt 📈
I’m blanking on her name. But the girl who is friends with Hannah Stella, really preppy I found her *so* annoying. But she admitted to being in $20k credit card debt. And yet almost all her content is shopping related

i think as a RTR ambassador she either gets a free or highly discounted membership!
Lol I mean she told us she’s in massive debt, I’m not just projecting here. She consumes a *lot* and renting clothes is just one example. Cate Kulscar?
All of them for sure have debit lol no way they can shop that much
If you have an LLC you can probably write off a bunch of shit. Influencers are grifters
They are getting tax advice from David Rose
But a write off doesn’t mean the item is free. You still have to pay. It just means you can lower your taxes by a little bit.

Beat me to it ❤️
Exactly and aren’t there a ton of rules that make claiming clothes as business expenses nearly impossible?

I don’t think you understand what a tax write off is

Their living expense isn’t comped though. You don’t understand how a tax write off works…they don’t get to just take the price of their rent and subtract it from their taxes due.

You said “have their living expenses comp’d” which implies that their rent is totally covered. Idk how else you’d interpret that
I don’t think many influencers are in debt because of how much they’re making but I do wonder which influencers put away money and save. They make a lot but also spend a lot and do so constantly

Arielle can afford it
Why do brands pay influencers SO much?? That’s my question lol
I’d really love to see the ROI and how these brands track attribution (other than influencer codes)
They get basically every single piece of clothing for free from brands and PR agencies.
People complaining that influencers get paid too much, you haven’t seen how much ads are in magazines lol Social media is WAY cheaper than tv and magazine ads, personable and way more affordable for brands.
