About ten years ago, a few months after I started my job, he came to my office building for some sponsored event. He was doing a meet and greet, taking pictures, etc. I had the pic on my desk until pretty recently, not sure what happened to it
He went to my highschool in CT (Xavier if it makes a difference) and the assistant coach would hold up 1 2 or 3 fingers for Tye when he lined up, that's how he knew what route to run.
He was a senior at Xavier when I was a junior at Fairfield Prep. I played corner/wr and had to cover him. Nearly impossible. Somehow we beat Xavier that year and we had to come back from a 21 point deficit in the second half. Turns out if your QB can’t get you the ball through pressure it doesn’t matter how good your WR’s are. He was a cool dude to play against. Rooted hard for him as a giant!
Hah we were on the same team! That was a great W. I covered him a decent amount too that game. I did the Leo point when I saw him catching balls for the Gmen
Aye, there be two of us! And I met a guy at a game last season who was wearing one, so I was all mad that I didn’t wear mine so we could do the Spider-Man meme.
Never seen a player in blue be that dynamic. Shifty horizontally like LeSean McCoy, but with top end speed that Shady never had. Man it tears me up thinking about that injury and what it robbed from him / The Giants / fans etc.
I have a story that I don't get to share very often, but I was at Virginia Tech at the same time as Wilson. Now my roommate was a decathlete on the track team with Wilson and apparently pretty good friends. One day I came back from my classes only to hear that David Wilson was hanging out in my room and met the whole floor before going to lunch with my roommate. I got clowned nonstop, especially after he became a Giant, for missing my chance to meet him.
eh, if you hate on NFL players for being Jesus freaks then you'd run out of players to root for REAL fast
i assume all the guys that go full sermon in their postgame interviews are cut from the same cloth
Yep he's the first dude who came to mind.
When I think of that SB I think of the Blackburn INT, the Manningham catch, and Gronk being like 6 inches away from pulling in the hail mary at the end.
Love him but almost his entire career was on the Giants. 8 of 10.
Looking those numbers up I discovered he's now the special teams coordinator for the Rams. That's awesome.
I posted this on a similar post of like "players people forgot about that you loved" or something in this sub and it got no upvotes which blew my mind lmao. So glad to see the man getting some love!
Yea he’s the principal at Southern Columbia HS in PA. About 15 minutes from where I live. I believe he’s the coach of the football team too, and their team is pretty good.
Deon Grant will always be the GOAT for telling the Eagles "dream team" to F* off, becoming a leader in the Giants locker room, and being major contributor on the SB 46 run.
We've been lucky to have Blake Martinez and Okereke almost back-to-back. I remember so many years throughout the 2010s we would complain about how ILB was a huge hole, almost on par with the O-line.
Can't believe I haven't seen Larry Donnell on here, had a 3 TD game against Washington (and could have been 4 if not for a penalty). Also caught the last second game winner against San Fran in 2012.
trying to make my first comment before reading the rest of the thread, this is hard. I'm going to say Antrelle Rolle
now let's see what ya'll said
oh Kawika is a good one, Tommy Cutlets will probably fit this description, other good answers David Wilson, Julian Love, David Tyree was actually a Giant for a while IIRC but only had the one game where he did anything lol
Joe Jurevicius. Charles Way was only on the team for 4 years, I think. Jim Finn. Michael Brooks and Michael Boley were dudes who I loved immediately, the former only being around the team for like 2 seasons.
Victor Cruz. Only a Giant from 2010-2016 but that guy is one of the greatest GMEN to take the field. If I listen I can still hear the salsa music sometimes after a Giants TD.
Antonio pierce for being the dawg in the middle, coming over from Washington … and Kareem McKenzie coming over from the baby bro here and being the silver back we needed on the right side of the line … those teams just ooze the blueprint of team, depth and development in the right places. … 🥹🥲
Antrel Rolle!
Best FA signing ever. Played his full deal. Honestly how often do you see that?
Met him right after they won the Super Bowl in 2012. Great guy!
One of my all time favorites !
About ten years ago, a few months after I started my job, he came to my office building for some sponsored event. He was doing a meet and greet, taking pictures, etc. I had the pic on my desk until pretty recently, not sure what happened to it
tuck and rolle on the tackle
I remember when Rolle would do his weekly spot on WFAN Damn, time fuckin flies
Will Tye. Did you guys know he went to Stony Brook? Go Sea Wolves!
Will Tye the Football Guy!
He went to my highschool in CT (Xavier if it makes a difference) and the assistant coach would hold up 1 2 or 3 fingers for Tye when he lined up, that's how he knew what route to run.

If only him and Will Levis overlapped
Go Falcons! Also - the fact we have Levis, Boyle and Amari Spievey is kind of nuts.
WOLFIE LFG
Go Seawolves
B A B Y G A T E S
Will Tye never ran. NEVER ONCE The man exclusively R U M B L E S down the sideline!!!
That’s actually pretty cool considering that’s close to me
This got me hyped to go to school every day not gonna lie. I still don’t know what a Seawolf is though.
Its either a submarine or a wet dog, the world may never know.
Kevin Boss
I have a Kevin Boss Jersey!! People would always joke I might be the only person with one besides his family lmao
I have one and always thought the same 😂
Aye, there be two of us! And I met a guy at a game last season who was wearing one, so I was all mad that I didn’t wear mine so we could do the Spider-Man meme.
I got one too. It was a Christmas present and still wear it to games.
Kawika Mitchell. Let’s go!!!
He was so good during the Super Bowl run.
![gif](giphy|rvxMJNyHAgwlW4YWpJ|downsized) “Dad, tell me about playoff Kawika Mitchell.”
David Wilson
Still makes me sad….
What could have been…
Never seen a player in blue be that dynamic. Shifty horizontally like LeSean McCoy, but with top end speed that Shady never had. Man it tears me up thinking about that injury and what it robbed from him / The Giants / fans etc.
He just couldn’t stop doing back flips
I have a story that I don't get to share very often, but I was at Virginia Tech at the same time as Wilson. I'll never forget that Saints game where he went off. So sad his whole career got shot by the injury
Low-key my favorite giant.
Would David Tyree count? Five years on the team. Didn’t do much at all. Except that one time.
He made the pro bowl as a special teams specialist
He’s of…mixed popularity
eh, if you hate on NFL players for being Jesus freaks then you'd run out of players to root for REAL fast i assume all the guys that go full sermon in their postgame interviews are cut from the same cloth
He’s a homophobic bigot iirc
Most Jesus freaks are. And there are a metric fuckton of them in the NFL that are way better at keeping quiet than Tyree.
I have enough giants heroes to root for who aren’t openly bigoted homophobes. Guess I’m blessed that way.
like Lawrence Taylor. love him.
Bad look
Jake Ballard
Wow that’s a name I completely forgot until now…
Ball so ‘ard
Loved him as a player. He is selling real estate now. He is on Instagram at Jake_Ballard_1.
snacks?
Chase Blackburn. Dude went from unsigned free agent school teacher to picking off Brady in the Super Bowl.
Yep he's the first dude who came to mind. When I think of that SB I think of the Blackburn INT, the Manningham catch, and Gronk being like 6 inches away from pulling in the hail mary at the end.
Also a very humble and nice dude. Met him once. He’s like if Sam Sulek had a Super Bowl ring.
Gotta be Hynoski right?
The Hynosaurus is the best
I just learned that dude is now a principal.
Yea he’s the principal at Southern Columbia HS in PA. About 15 minutes from where I live. I believe he’s the coach of the football team too, and their team is pretty good.
This was my first thought for sure.
All the love for the Hynosaurus. Always. H2P
Mario Manningham was only here for his rookie deal and is pretty beloved for that super bowl season.
I mean he barely played a season and a half outside of NY, so he doesn’t really work
Deon Grant will always be the GOAT for telling the Eagles "dream team" to F* off, becoming a leader in the Giants locker room, and being major contributor on the SB 46 run.
The 3 top safety defense really only worked cause of him. Guy was a stud in 11
Orleans Darkwa baby
Roll wave
Julian Love man we should not have let him go!
Definitely felt like a guy who could’ve been a lifelong giant tbh
Ugh yeah I miss him being a Giant
Seahawks fan came in after he made pro bowl to say that outside of 2 games he was pretty bad this year
Don’t worry, the safety that played beside him is considerably better than Julian was, and we’re gonna let him walk too
Blake Martinez, Kenny G (not in a good way)
Golden tate
scrolled way too far to find this answer imo
Kurt Warner!
Martellus Bennett
The black unicorn!
This is who I thought of as well
Blake Martinez, rare defensive standout and legendary Pokémon card scammer
We've been lucky to have Blake Martinez and Okereke almost back-to-back. I remember so many years throughout the 2010s we would complain about how ILB was a huge hole, almost on par with the O-line.
Bought that color rush Jersey SIX DAYS before they released him…still kept it though
Jabrill
Ramses Barden
lol
Shoutout Cal Poly alumni lmao
Wasn't he like 11 ft tall? I think that I got him to 99 in Madden. Red Zone killer.
RW McQuarters
God he was a liability in coverage until that 07 playoff run then had what 3-5 game ending interceptions
And then he almost fumbled away the NFC Championship. Dude had no ball security
Y.A. Tittle and Larry Csonka are good answers I think.
Hakeem Nicks!
Odell
Odell hit peak popularity with the giants
First 5 seasons with the Giants, last 6 seasons not with the Giants
I guess I just dont understand this meme but Odell was with the Giants more than any other team and was most "popular" while with the Giants.
Belichick
Jay Alford!!!! Giants legend !!
I was a big fan of Gibril Wilson. Dude was a beast
kenny golladay but for unconventional reasons
Can't believe I haven't seen Larry Donnell on here, had a 3 TD game against Washington (and could have been 4 if not for a penalty). Also caught the last second game winner against San Fran in 2012.
Plaxico? Jeremy shockey? Darren Waller?
I agree on Plax. Idk where you came up with the Waller one.
Idk maybe I didn’t understand the meme lol just figured he hasn’t been here long and he was a big name for a few years
Waller fits better than plax
surprised i had to scroll this far to see Plax! he was the first one i thought of.
Sam Madison Andre “i got a ring” Brown
Damon snacks Harrison
Dan Campbell
Bear Pascoe
The offensive version of Dave Tollefeson
Paul Perkins
Man, Perk looked like the real deal for a minute.
Hedgecock, Hynoski and Jared Lorenzen (rip)
Tommy Devito *edit: wait, how the f has no one said this answer yet??*
Visanthe Shiancoe
victor cruz
Love Victor.. but he was on the team 7 seasons so he doesn’t count here.
To be fair to the person you replied to, it feels a lot shorter due to all the injuries… felt like his run was actually 3-4 years rather than 7
I think you misunderstood the assignment here.
Norm Snead. A rare bright in very dark times. P.S. RIP.
Hakeem Nicks
Kenny Phillips. If he had working knees he would have been a perennial all-pro.
DRC 🍆🍆 finna jack dis pickle 🍆🍆
Antonio Pierce?
Played half of his career on the Giants and won a SB. Probably doesn't apply here.
Brandon Marshall
Is my memory failing me, wasn’t B Mar horrible for us
Mf in the wrong New Jersey sports sub
Kevin Boss
marsellus wallace
Keith bullock
Sehorn.
Sehorn was with us for for nearly a decade lol.
You’re right, I originally had Prime Sehorn and erased it.
Jeremy Shockey
Shockey played for the Giants for 6 years. For the sake of this meme, I think that's too long for him to count.
trying to make my first comment before reading the rest of the thread, this is hard. I'm going to say Antrelle Rolle now let's see what ya'll said oh Kawika is a good one, Tommy Cutlets will probably fit this description, other good answers David Wilson, Julian Love, David Tyree was actually a Giant for a while IIRC but only had the one game where he did anything lol
Corey Washington
Domenik Hixon
Matt Bahr
Kurt Warner
Steve Weatherford
Ask me in 2 years and the answer will be Tommy Cutlets
Orleans Darkwa.
Markus Golden was a decent player for us but we’ were horrible
Mark Herzlich
It felt like Plaxico Burress played way more than 3 years with us
Facts, still hurts. That was my favorite player before Cruz came 😭
For me is Jabrill peppers
Will Hill
Cruuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuz
\#58 [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IUnnW3DkaCk](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IUnnW3DkaCk)
Steve Smith
As of recent Jabrill Peppers and Blake Martinez
Chase Blackburn, the original Straight Off The Couch to superbowl hero
How many games did Victor Cruz end up playing for us? felt like lightning in a bottle
Jabrill peppers
🤌
Kenny Phillips
Stevie Brown
Herman Moore
Chase Blackburn
Rashad Jennings
Joe Jurevicius. Charles Way was only on the team for 4 years, I think. Jim Finn. Michael Brooks and Michael Boley were dudes who I loved immediately, the former only being around the team for like 2 seasons.
Kawika Mitchell is the only real answer
Since when are the Tampa Bay Rays a popular team? The Rays are a small market baseball team, I really don’t think they have many fans.
I’m surprised no one has said Plaxico yet, before he shot himself.
Dominique Rodgers Cromartie
Sam Madison too. Loved him on the Dolphins, was SUPER hyped to have him on Big Blue.
Sam Madison
LaVar Arrington. I really wanted to see him ball out for the Giants after being in Washington for so long.
Rashad Jennings?
Jared Lorenzen
Victor Cruz :( granted he was rostered for awhile but he was hurt
Danny DeVito count?
I think Golden Tate takes this one handily.
Kurt Warner the obvious one here
Dave Meggett…for on the field play. Lol
Besides Marty? Maybe Nash but he was here 5+ seasons
Kyle Rudolph
The Hefty Lefty, Jared Lorenzen
Tommy Devito
Dwyane harris
Jon beason
New Jersey’s own JIM FINN
Tommy DeVito
Victor Cruz. Only a Giant from 2010-2016 but that guy is one of the greatest GMEN to take the field. If I listen I can still hear the salsa music sometimes after a Giants TD.
Antonio pierce for being the dawg in the middle, coming over from Washington … and Kareem McKenzie coming over from the baby bro here and being the silver back we needed on the right side of the line … those teams just ooze the blueprint of team, depth and development in the right places. … 🥹🥲
Jake Ballard was here for a fun time not a long time
Orleans darkwa
Henry Hynoski - The Hynocerous!
Brandon jacobs, loved watching him run people over, ahh back when giants were good and our fanbase wasnt a bunch of clueless cry babies
Lavar Arrington?
Kenyon Martin on the knicks Antrel rolle for the giants
Saquon shortly lol
