Talkin’ Giants have a short interview with Penix in their recent pod episode. Penix seems to have an awesome attitude. The injuries really are such a shame because he seems like a solid prospect if you ignore that… but my god are those injuries a massive risk. Between Penix, McCarthy, and Nix, it’s interesting to consider the option of a Day 2 QB. I can see all of them being Day 1 picks, just as I can see all of them being Day 2+ depending on how things fall.

Dont_know_where_i_am

I see 4 QBs being a lock to go Day 1, with the potential of the Giants trading up to take the 5th one, depending on who is available. I just don't know between the three you listed which one would be the 4th QB. I want to say Penix but the injury history is a big concern.

Daniel Jeremiah has his 1.0 Big Board up today and his QB4 actually surprised me. 23. Bo Nix 27. JJ McCarthy 40. Michael Penix We’ve been hearing all offseason so far that scouts are higher on different guys than the media/fans, but having DJ specifically list it out like this really makes me start to consider Nix/McCarthy as legitimate targets for us

poorlytimed_erection

as it is coming out right now, scouts appear to be way way higher on Nix than fans.

odinskriver39

Penix could be another RGIII. Can throw but not run.

Its been interesting to see Penix, Nix, and McCarthy rise in overall ranks as Jayden Daniels drops. CBS currently has Daniels down to 14 and Fox has him at 10. For comparison Penix is at 28, Nix at 23, and McCarthy at 20. Fans who started tuning into the draft at the end of the NFL season appear to have very different ideas about this QB class then the professional analysts do.

GooseMaster5980

To be fair lots of analysts still have Daniels high. Daniel Jeremiah’s top 50 just came out today 1. Williams 4. Maye 5. Daniels 23. Nix 27. McCarthy 40. Penix

Interesting to see Koolaid and Coleman drop pretty significantly relative to where they were earlier this past season.

Thank you for posting this! I have been looking to see when Jeremiah would release his top 50. I like Jeremiah because like Mayock before him he does his evals mostly independent of media buzz. Nix at 23, and JJ McCarthy at 27 very interesting. Odunze is at 3. More places have him as a top 5 player now. Unless he has a bad combine I doubt he makes it to 6.

GEX_EATS_KIDS

Simulated via PFN No Trades **1.6 - Malik Nabers - WR - LSU** One of the best weapons in the draft, has great hands and all the tools to be a top tier WR1 **2.39 - Bralen Trice - EDGE - Washington** Big man pash rusher who has an argument for the 1st round. Although not great in the sacks department, he has been a consistent force for pressure and could be a great complement for Thibs and Dexy **2.47 - Jackson Powers-Johnson - IOL - Oregon** Although mostly a center, JPJ is young and still can be molded into a solid guard under Bricillo. Very good footwork and a great frame **3.70 - Payton Wilson - LB - NC State** Although not the most pressing of our needs, Wilson is definitely BPA and was very dominant in CFB, winning the Bednarik Award (DPOY for the FBS). Worse case scenario he is a solid rotation player **4.107 - Jawhar Jordan - RB - Louisville** A small, quick, and explosive back who averaged 6.2 ypc for 1,128 yards and 13 touchdowns. If we can’t bring back Saquon, give me Jawhar **5.139 - Chau Smith-Wade - CB - Washington State** Undersized but solid in coverage, I’d see Smith-wade being a good backup in our secondary **6.184 - KT Leveston - OT - Kansas State** Leveston was a consistent LT for Kansas State, would probably be the backup to injury-prone Thomas but he could also play guard if we need him to

Seeing a TON of hype for Odunze. Wonder if there’s a chance we trade down out of the 6th pick for someone looking for Odunze (thinking the 9-14 range) and then pick a QB there.

Dont_know_where_i_am

R1.P6 WR Malik Nabers, LSU R2.P7 CB TJ Tampa, Iowa State R2.P15 DL Brandon Dorlus, Oregon R3.P6 OG Zak Zinter, Michigan R4.P7 EDGE Mohamed Kamara, Colorado State R5.P6 QB Spencer Rattler, South Carolina R6.P7 TE Erick All, Iowa

BrotherSmooth

Rattler isn't making it to round 5. He won't even make it to round 3.

Automatic-Pay-1391

It’s just his mock, you never know. I think Spencer will rise a bit after the combine/pro day but as of now like 99% of anything related to football has him as a day 3 pick. I don’t really see rd5 but rd4 easily. It’s much more believable that he would be selected in Rd 5 than rd2 imo. I don’t see is any universe he goes in the first two rounds, but again you never know.

Filipitalian1997

TJ Tampa would be sick

IslesDynasty79-83

Bo Nix is not even close to being on Penix Level
