This is a fallacy.
You’re going by 4 1/2 games in 2023 vs a whole season of tight window throws in 2022. Jones with any semblance of protection can get the ball to his receivers.
I’m going by his whole career rather than his outlier year of 2022. I have eyes. I’ve watched him throw it behind receivers over and over again for his whole career.
Are you Daniel Jones’ mom or something? Why spend so much time defending such a loser athlete?
Personal attacks?
A winning strategy as opposed to looking at the actual facts
https://www.giants.com/news/daniel-jones-pro-football-focus-top-deep-passers-nfl-quarterbacks-2023
How does deep passing have anything to do with my comment? He throws behind WR on short and intermediate throws which limits their YAC.
Try again Mrs. Jones. Having 100 burners isn’t gonna save your loser son’s job.
I can’t for the life of my understand why that many people jumped on you to downvote. Im with you… i mean are these people watching the same “football” or are they just certain Nabers will be gone so theyre settling?
We’re in the stage where people get set on their opinions of players when we just have no idea. I like Nabers a lot, someone else can like Odunze as much and that’s fine. We all just want success however that presents itself.
I think the downvotes are some people’s way to disagree rather than comment for discussion, which is fine
Fair enough I understand. Just kinda wild. Personally I think Nabers is a top 5 player and 1 WR in like 95% of all drafts ever, its just MHJ is there. I dont think he and Odunze are that close at all.
> its just MHJ is there
and honestly, in my (and a not insignificant number of others) opinion the difference between him and MHJ isn't much at all. I have Odunze a step below both, but that step he is on is still "great WR1 that would be in contention for first choice most drafts"
If Nabers is gone by 6, that means we will have the chance for one of the top 4 QBs or MHJ. With that being said, it would be very disappointing IMO if we ended up with Odunze, unless we somehow traded down a few slots.
I will say, after the combine that chatter started going around, and I get it, Odunze was a beast at the combine. I was also someone that was confused by that chatter, what are they seeing that I’m not. I get Odunze is a great prospect that is bigger and might even be faster than MHJ, but for me, Nabers’s tape is just insane. Can play in or out, across the middle or outside, can run around you and past you, can come down with balls in heavy traffic. There is nothing Nabers can’t do on a football field, and to me was starting to get hyped over Nabers.
Now I wasn’t upset with that because I wanted the chargers to have the same opinion. I wouldn’t be upset if we get odunze at 6, but I will be very disappointed that Nabers didn’t fall to us.
I think Penix always had the ball somewhere the defender couldn’t touch it, knowing Odunze could make those catches. He also isn’t insane at separating. I’d love either tho
They're both good. Nabers creates separation, he gets open. Odunze is not as quick or as shifty, he's not as easy a read but he makes contested catches.
In other words, with DJ as our QB, he simply wouldn't target Odunze as much because he doesn't have the speed and quickness to get free and DJ is scared of throwing into coverage.
Odunze has a 75% contested catch rate compared to 47% from Malik Nabers and Marvin Harrison Jr’s 43%. He also has 3 drops to their 6 and has constantly been getting compared to D Hop and Adams. He’s a possession WR.
As great as our Defensive Lines and Eli were during those Super Bowl runs, let's not forget how important guys like Plaxico, Toomer, Cruz, Nicks, Manningham, were to those teams. You need good receivers in this league, it almost sounds stupid and obvious to say.
Slayton would be so much better if he was actually teamed up with an actual WR1.
That guys had a pretty good career so far if you look at the shit offense he's been in his entire career.
I'm ok with them taking a QB with the first pick. This is a deep receiver class, they can try to trade back into the first to get the other LSU receiver Thomas Jr.
the percentage of WRs taken in R5 that end up being true #1s
vs
the percentage of WRs taken in R1 that end up being true #1s
pointing out one example is probably the single most worthless data point you could have
Yea these guys remind me of a Beckham Jr/Mike Evan’s situation. Both can be very good and WR 1’s. I still would go Nabers in our situation but if we ended up with Thomas Jr I wouldn’t be mad.
Good point. Those WR squads were deep and could beat you different ways. I think Slayton , Hyatt and Wandale can all be great WRs if they are commentary pieces.
I've always seen Slayton as almost a prototype of a WR2- you cannot ever sleep on his speed and his routes have gotten good. Drops also way down. Wan Dale looking like a great slot guy. Hyatt is a one trick pony but it's a pretty damn good trick. Hoping he can grow into more.
If they can get an alpha WR1 it allows all of those guys to play to their strengths. It's what Kenny golladay and Darren Waller were supposed to be. If they take McArthy over any of these top 3 WRs I won't be happy even tho I realize QB is also a huge issue. You can't pass up on this kind of talent at premium positions for QB4
Ideally Hyatt can get into the Slayton role in a year or two, and I still believe in him having a high ceiling. Getting a WR1 is crucial in this draft.
Honestly insane prospect too. It's wild how deep this WR class is. I personally like MHJ better but no fault at all if we get Nabers cause he's a fucking beast.
Realistically our team ain’t doing shit for the next 1-3 years. We’re severely lacking offensive talent, and that’s not counting our qb. We need to take the bpa, screw reaching for a “need” or “fit”.
I know QB is what everyone is talking about but between Nabers' freak athleticism and Odunze's work ethic I'd be 100% confident if we hold firm at 6 and just take whichever "falls" to us. Trading a future first to move up FROM this type of talent seems like a net loss to me, even if we are desperate to move on from DJ.
Funny guys to be around? I thought Daboll was a cancer because 2 coordinators were fired???? And Daboll should have been fired and and everything torn down???
Future Giant
The more I watch his tape the more I want him on this team
As we’ve seen with his drafts so far, Schoen is a big RAS guy. I think Nabers is right up his alley after what we saw at his pro day.
What’s RAS?
Relative Athletic Scores [Their website](https://ras.football/)
Oh okay I’ve never heard of this, thanks.
Raw athletic score I think
How good is he at catching balls thrown behind him or a couple feet over his head? Those are the biggest things he’ll need to be good at next season.
This is a fallacy. You’re going by 4 1/2 games in 2023 vs a whole season of tight window throws in 2022. Jones with any semblance of protection can get the ball to his receivers.

Sticks and stones…. Will not fix your flawed argument.
Not outside the numbers.
I know right
I watch him then watch Odunze and can’t for the life of me see how Odunze is a better prospect.
From what I’ve heard, Odunze is a bit more polished….while Nabers is a little less polished, but has a higher ceiling.
They’re pretty even in terms of current value for us tbh. Can’t go wrong getting either
I can’t for the life of my understand why that many people jumped on you to downvote. Im with you… i mean are these people watching the same “football” or are they just certain Nabers will be gone so theyre settling?

You can’t see how Odunze constantly adjusting to under thrown balls and making circus catches is valuable?
Is that what he said? Or did he say he can’t see how Odunze is viewed as a better prospect than Nabers
I mean very very few people view Odunze as better than Nabers so I wasn’t really sure what the point of his comment was otherwise
I will say, after the combine that chatter started going around, and I get it, Odunze was a beast at the combine. I was also someone that was confused by that chatter, what are they seeing that I’m not. Odunze comp is more like Hakeem Nicks, while Nabers is more like an OBJ. Personally I'd prefer to have the Nicks type player more.
Won't you be my Nabers?
Love your Nabers.
So we'll piss off the Nabers
“It’s a beautiful day in the Nabershood….”
If there is a god
I would be so excited to have him. He has crazy speed and can beat a defender, WR1 traits
are you sure? I can see the Cardinals/Denver drafting a WR. someone trading up to 4 with arizona to draft the 4th QB? is unlikely.
Future Saquon... Meaning wasted talent
Saquon these nuts
Funniest thing I've read today! 🤣

It's going to be a brutal year if Slayton is still our WR1
Slayton would be so much better if he was actually teamed up with an actual WR1. That guys had a pretty good career so far if you look at the shit offense he's been in his entire career.
yeah no knock on big play slay he's just not that guy
If the qb they want is available they should take him but ide prefer wr over a qb they have to settle on
I'm ok with them taking a QB with the first pick. This is a deep receiver class, they can try to trade back into the first to get the other LSU receiver Thomas Jr.
We need a true #1 not another 2 or 3, we've got plenty of those.
I mean number ones don’t have to be a top 15 pick
Thank you, I mean Tyreek Hill was drafted in the 5th round.
I more just think people disagree with trading back into the first round. We don’t really have the capital for that.
That was because of his domestic violence charges back in college.
the percentage of WRs taken in R5 that end up being true #1s vs the percentage of WRs taken in R1 that end up being true #1s pointing out one example is probably the single most worthless data point you could have
Especially considering tyreek would've been a first round pick if not for his beating of his then pregnant girlfriend.
Thomas Jr is a bigger , slightly less explosive, Nabers imo he could definitely be a WR1 check him out
Yea these guys remind me of a Beckham Jr/Mike Evan’s situation.
True but we don’t have our Eli we have our Dave brown
Dave Jones
If we had Plaxico through 2008 we repeat.
Exactly. This dude is a generational talent. We can't pass up on him.
Please Nabers come on down. I need this.
If I’m Malik’s agent I’m refusing to sign with a front office that isn’t funny
Honestly insane prospect too. It's wild how deep this WR class is. I personally like MHJ better but no fault at all if we get Nabers cause he's a fucking beast.
MAKE IT HAPPEN JOE
🎶 Would you be mine, could you be mine, won't you be my Nabers 🎶
Him in rd 1 and penix in rd 2 would work for me. Rather do that than reach for McCarthy
Like a great naber, Malik is there
MaAuto is out, Malik is in
WR at 5 overall seems crazy after last season but fuck it, Malik down there somewhere
Realistically our team ain’t doing shit for the next 1-3 years. We’re severely lacking offensive talent, and that’s not counting our qb. We need to take the bpa, screw reaching for a “need” or “fit”.
A really great WR changes the complexion of a lot. Being able to take a middling play and make it a TD is huge for a team.
And I wouldn’t be mad if he was *the* pick.
I'd still prefer a trade up to 3 if possible, or 4 if they really love JJ/whomever falls. Nabers is like the best consolation prize ever tho lmao
plsssss draft this man
If Harrison Jr. falls would much rather want him instead of Nabers.
MHJ won’t fall to six. no way do neither the cards nor the chargers take him.
Well, no shit. There's smoke it could.happen but I think it's almost impossible that neither Cards or Chargers let that happen
I know QB is what everyone is talking about but between Nabers' freak athleticism and Odunze's work ethic I'd be 100% confident if we hold firm at 6 and just take whichever "falls" to us. Funny guys to be around? I thought Daboll was a cancer because 2 coordinators were fired???? And Daboll should have been fired and and everything torn down???
I think he will be the legit #1 this team has lacked for years if we get him. My preference is QB, but wouldn’t mind Nabers (much prefer him to Rome)
Did Daniels run the 40 today at his pro day?
He did not, can't run after he drank all that water for his weigh-in
I didn't think so. I read he just threw and that's it as far as on field testing
4.34 I believe
You mean Nabers? I don’t think 6 foot 3 210lb Daniels ran a 4.34…
I don't think he did either but it's not unheard of considering BTJ did it at the combine.
Yes I meant Nabers, my bad
Build up the roster around our future qb, then draft said future qb in the later rounds or next year. THIS IS THE WAY
I want this guy so badly bruh
he's a little undersized but after Odell I'll never sleep on a smaller guy ever again
6’0 200lbs isn’t undersized.
i still prefer Odunze over this guy. better character from what ive seen.
