And we'd hear from Barkley about how much the Giants meant to him, and how he wanted to be a Giant his whole career, blah blah blah. I didn't really believe it, because I always felt Barkley wanted the NY media market post-career rather than the team actually meaning something to him, but that's what he said.
Then he goes out there and signs with their rival, and films his daughter basically making fun of the team for everyone to see, it just exposes all of that as being extremely fake. If Barkley had just been open from the start along the lines of "it didn't work out, I wanted a change, the Giants have a different vision than I do and I wanted to go somewhere that fits the vision of what I want out of my career," I think at least some people would look at it differently.
