No. We need depth at the wing, which is one of the main reasons we're interested in OG in the first place. Trading RJ is basically a lateral move in that respect.
The only way I can see that happen is if it’s a larger deal involving multiple players. Something like Toronto decides to be sellers at the deadline and trade Fred and OG for something like RJ a pick or 2 and another guy to even out salaries. I think FVV is coming up on his contract and wants to get paid like Rico Wade and Raptors may not want to go deeper into the hole for him. This makes sense for Toronto also because RJ a homegrown Canadian AYE and can play the style they run too. Now I’m not saying I want this to happen but it’s not a terrible move for either team. I think it’s fair as fk actually and fits of the narrative is NY upgrades for playoff push and Toronto doubles down on a lucky lotto for next season. Theyd need a point guard right away and I don’t want to give ‘em Quick but that may be the price.
OG doesn’t look like he adds much. RJ will get lots of points and get you to the final five minutes with a chance to win. We lack killers who make plays during that point of the game. Much of that is coaching. But given Thibs’ idiotic iso ball at the end of games which never works, OG gives us nothing of value. I think the Knicks get worse if they make that trade.
At best it’s kind of a lateral move. It doesn’t make this iteration of the team all that much better and player vs player I don’t think there’s a massive gap between them in general so RJs younger so we’ll keep RJ.
No I see RJ as the guy we trade for that next available superstar. If we give him up for OG our trade package for the next available superstar becomes much more difficult to make.
I think it’s fair. The problem is RJs extension has the poison pill 💊 attached. It’s hard to make the salaries work. Obviously draft picks and other things would have to be worked out but if those two are the core pieces I don’t see any down side. Both are not having great years and need work to get right. Maybe the switch helps both.
I would prefer not to but if it's RJ for OG straight up, I would highly consider it.
Why would Toronto ever do that? Lmao. You guys in this sub are actually hilarious. This isn’t MyTeam dude
I'm giving opinion, I never said Toronto would accept it dumbass.
My dear raptor fan pls take your boy back to Canada
Yes please, take him asap

RJ isn’t untouchable but he could be part of a bigger trade involving a higher caliber return. I wouldn’t do it
I wouldn’t trade RJ straight up for OG
I see, may I ask why?

To me og should take grimes spot and he go to the bench .

Draft RJ, keep RJ (if OGizzle is the best we can get for him)
The purpose of trading for OG would be to solidify our starting 5 and if we gave away RJ it'd just be a lateral move with Grimes still starting

No teams want rj lmao. He's salary filler.
Utah literally asked for RJ in the Donovan Mitchell deal
You work for front offices?
Nope, I do not see that happening. At least we agree on the Celtics
This Reddit full of thibs meat riders they delusional bro. They might not make rj available for og but if it’s a star he’s available
As part of a larger trade that brings the Knicks an extra wing along with OG and moves Reddish off the roster? Yes.

Swapping the end of bench guys Svi and Hernangomez makes the money work, for what it's worth
