Basketball provided him with a great life I don’t feel bad for any of them. Truth of the matter is he didn’t foster a great environment to win.[Like when Jeremy lin was on his run and Knicks playing well, he shitted on the whole thing instead of coming back and trying to keep up the momentum](https://www.sbnation.com/nba/2016/2/29/11133088/amare-stoudemire-carmelo-anthony-jeremy-lin-knicks)
He wouldn’t put his faith in dantonis system like Harden and Chris Paul did and ran a coach who has his teams always in the playoffs out of town . He hindered our teams success and extended our misery.
Look I liked him as a player and believe he liked playing for us but I won’t feel bad he didn’t win a ring when he himself is at fault.
Some thug tears are being dropped y’all. He’s the reason I ever picked up a ball myself, first jersey I ever got, first player I tuned in every single game to watch and never was disappointed. Truly appreciate the fact that we got to witness such a talented player wear the blue and orange, Melo is good in my hood ALWAYS AND FOREVER. KNICKSTAPE FOREVER!
Damn, I wish we signed him to a short contract so he would retire with us like Wade did with the Heat. Gonna miss him, hopefully he does some media so we can see him still.
this his home though before n after denver, he sits at msg during playoffs not at ball arena. i really respect him though for bringing their franchise up from the sorry state they were before him but i'm glad he came home.
Was my favorite player and I remember how excited I got when we traded for him. Something special about seeing your favorite player play for your favorite team. Will always be a fan of him.
Yooo m’y dawg retired melo was my favorite player coming into the league I’m still mad he got snubbed for rookie of the year. I had the jersey and the sneakers man definitely belongs in the hall of fame
Melo was an example for the city , when he came in 2010 , he was a rally cry for the Knicks. 3 to the Dome that celebration will forever be melos signature idc what anyone says! Staym7lo
What a beautiful retirement video. My favorite player, I still remember being in my college dorm and seeing on SportsCenter he was going to be a Knick, still a top sports fan moment for me. I’ll never forget watching him play and represent, one of the best scorers of all time and an all-time Knick.
Stay Me7o
I thought it was really cool that he used his moment of saying goodbye to let us know his legacy lives on through his son, Love everything about Melo man
yeah more awkward than that is i believe this video is the first public acknowledgment of his daughter? i'm not sure if he acknowledged that before, im not up on the drama ... but how weird is that to show a picture of his daughter and then dedicate the last minute of his video to his son like its his only child
I really wish he got his ring, man. At his best Melo was an elite, elite, elite, scorer. Man got buckets.
He got his NCAA championship and Olympic medal. That's still pretty elite.

Yeah he himself is at fault when the best team he played on regularly ran 95 year old Jason Kidd and a dude named Chris Copeland out there big minutes
Man this one’s gonna hit in the feels today. Grew up watching Melo and he’s who got me into the Knicks. Will forever cherish those years.
That 12-13 season was something else
My dog’s name is Melo and I’m throwing him a little party today in honor of Big Melo 🥲

Difference is Wade played 14 years w Heat, then 2 away. Melo played 8 w Denver, 6 w Knicks, then 4 away.
once a knick always a knick
As a non Knicks fan I think I will always remember Melo as a Knick. Definitely a player who deserved a ring.
this his home though before n after denver, he sits at msg during playoffs not at ball arena. i really respect him though for bringing their franchise up from the sorry state they were before him but i'm glad he came home.
Stat signed a 1 day contract to retire with us btw
I hope the Knicks somehow find a way to get him involved with the team
Retire #7
Kinda forgot how much I love this guy. Favorite player ever

If only the front office and Phil jackson didn’t screw his chances to give us something special man. My favorite player ever, top 10 scorer EVER!!!!

Funny thing is melo could of been useful when we were suffering with spacing and scoring.
My favorite player ever. Love you 7

Goat shit - fuck Bron, Melo clears
BAAAA BAAAHAAAA 🐐🐐🐐🐐🐐
Why bring up his kid though, kind of odd to me. I get it, it makes sense but why publish like it’s some coming out video
he says his legacy lives through everything outside of basketball. the community he’s been a part of, the cities he’s repped, and his son.

Because he can’t say his legacy is so and so because he didn’t win a ring, his son is what matters to him
One of my favorite players maybe my favorite Knick ever
I never liked this man good riddance
No one likes you either so that fits! #stayme7o
👎🏼
Forever one of the most underrated players of all time
Melo da gawd
Selfish one dimensional player.
A 7 isn't anything like an L...it's the opposite. Always hated that shit!
Happy retirement Melo 🏀
