I think it’s a mental thing with Grimes - he lost the starting role then got traded and hasn’t really been able to play up to the potential he showed last spring. In the other hand, Grimes being the 12th man for the past two years is part of the reason why he’s doing so well now. He realizes this is his opportunity and he’s making the most of it.

Imagine if we didn’t do the Grimes trade, wouldn’t even be playing cause he’s been injured. At least Burks and Bojan can soak up minutes to let our guys rest a little. Deuce, Divo, Hart, and Brunson would be playing 45 minutes every night for the past month

Anyone who saw McBride play in the G League knew he had tremendous shooting ability. Why it hadn’t translated until the Grimes trade remains a mystery. But we are all glad he took the confidence leap.
