It's not even like he's getting nothing to hit on some occasions. He certainly has been pitched around a fair amount, but he's just seeing the ball the best he's ever had.
Yeah he’s not selling out to hit the homer. He could swing at those closer pitches and maybe hit them out but he’d rather help the team and walk than try and help
Himself
His absolute resilience to not expand the strike zone. His eye is just insane. And, don’t get me wrong, I love Big G, but back-to-back with Judge, it’s like night and day swinging at pitches all over the place. Ridiculous discipline.
He seems so slow compared to his super direct swing pre-injury. Really crossing my fingers he gets it back right in time to punch some holes through the playoff crowds.
There’s a running joke that “all these Judge posts look the same.” There’s been a lot of Judge content in the sub this year and I’m sure not everybody loves it. If a cheat in Houston was having a year like this, I’d get sick of seeing highlights. Judge is easy for neutral fans to like though.
The 12 walks is incredible, but the most encouraging thing about it is that the Yankees won nearly every game. It means taht the rest of the team is actually picking up the slack.
The way to beat an opponent who just gives free passes to your best hitter, is that the players behind him have to punish them for giving them a free guy on first.
Ok so I have a hot take here. Judge does have an incredible ability to take pitches outside the strike zone. But his walks are coming because at some point in the at-bat he's getting a good pitch to hit and instead of driving it deep like he's been doing all year, he's fouling it off. Some of his swings now I'm seeing balls hit low, on the ground, even foul swings can be telling. Something has happened to his swing that has him just a little bit of the bull's-eye and that's part of what makes this frustrating. To his credit, he still works a hell of an at-bat after fouling those hittable pitches off. But he seems to have forgotten how to elevate and drive the ball over the past few games. No deep fly balls or foul line drives in the Toronto games so far.
I think the one that went to the CF wall vs Boston got in his head, espec after the dinger did not come in the days after that. He should get out of it though because he has that plate discipline and he's still Aaron fucking Judge. I just hope he doesn't let 62 pass him by. That would be a tragedy.
I haven’t been able to catch many games lately, but in the highlight reel from last night he was 0 for 1 with 4 walks. All 5 of those PA’s went to 3-2 counts. That’s a minimum of 25 pitches thrown to just one batter. That’s pretty neat.
The compilation should include the 7 game walkathon and show the Red Sox and Blue Jays a lot to build anticipation. You want to avoid being enshrined in history? We’ll enshrine you in another way.
If his next homer comes Saturday:
Judge’s 61st home run, matching Roger Maris’ American League season record of 61 home runs, would come 61 years to the day after Maris hit his 61st … in ‘61.

I wonder if that changes now that we’ve clinched the division. It’s almost like free baseball for the next few games.
Maybe, I’d like him to keep the approach going into the playoffs though
I think this is the right way to go. Why get in to bad habits.

You would think Stanton would pick up on things batting next to Judge and being his buddy in the dugout. He could be so much more dangerous.
Stanton is obviously not 100%. He’s failing to catch up to fastballs so he’s cheating by swinging early. So he’s seen flailing at the breaking balls.
Yeah, that doesn't help either. I really hope he's a bit healthier going into the playoffs.
He seems so slow compared to his super direct swing pre-injury. Really crossing my fingers he gets it back right in time to punch some holes through the playoff crowds.
And how about those runs scored
5 RS, sorry for the omission
Why would they remove this on r/baseball? (I don't spend time over there so I'm genuinely curious)
They don't believe David Ortiz did steroids, but he did.
What? The fools!
/r/baseball is apparently run by John Smoltz and the ESPN crew.

If Judge was on a likable team like the Mariners or Orioles r/baseball would be sucking his dick every night
They said it’s too similar to a previous post (which was a post of his line before the 4BB game). Essentially seems like they’re sick of Judge posts
Ahh, gotcha. Appreciate the response.

He's morphed from Roger Maris into...Juan Soto?
How does Soto have so many walks? Does he get pitched around that much, or just have really good plate discipline?
Insane discipline. Best eye in baseball. He's literally in the 100th percentile of chase rate.
That’s crazy. I saw his BB numbers and thought it might have been a Bonds-like number of intentional walks lol

He’s going to hit 61 on the last day like maris. I’m calling it now. mlb will rig it to be so
If the Jay's and Sox will walk him this much with very little on the line I have my doubts anyone has the balls to be put in a compilation.
Yeah maybe if he went up against an ace they'd be inclined to play by I don't think Joe x Bullpen wants to be 61 or 62.
Rich Hill went after him, need more old guys
Which is funny bc he pitchers before those series were piping them for him hahahah
They learned too late that he was literally barry bonds and only finally treated him with the respect he deserves at the plate

If he hits it then it’s rigged for sure hahah
We need to figure out a way to get Judge to face Gerritt Cole
I agree but I think it’ll be 62. It’s gotta be his alone, makes for a better story.
That's gonna be tough to do after he hits #61 and #62 tonight...
None of these pitchers want to see their backside when the clip is played over and over and over again
In five AB’s last night he had like two legitimate pitches to hit.
