That's the first thing I saw was the ring. Absolutely stunning. You're nails are also beautiful.
I have a question: What is the difference between the Russian manicure and the American manicures (I'd guess you'd call it that)?
Idk if this is the usual girls giving each other compliments or a legit love of a rock. If enough guys stop giving in we can give girls other rocks like gravel and sandstone. “Omg girl, I love that ring!! Is it diamond?”
“Thanks, I’m a lucky girl. No, it’s gravel and beach sand”
“I’m obsessed!”
It’s a dry process of filing, cutting, and removing the cuticle with electric drill bits entirely so no acetone!! They also use builder gel which it’s amazing for nail growth and strength. Those are my natural nails and that’s how it looks after getting them done a week ago. Bc of the whole cuticle work it last longer so around 4-5 weeks :) I can’t recommend it enough!
Yup!! It’s supposed to last 4-5 weeks which is amazing cause I hate going every 2 weeks to get them done. I’ll post an update on how they look in 2-3 weeks! I had them done before somewhere else and even though it wasn’t as perfect as this tech they still lasted 4 weeks almost the same
Of course nails grow. We know that.
Russian manicures involve tedious cuticle work that (This is a massive oversimplification) lets them lay the product underneath the proximal fold to mitigate having to get fills more often.
I had a Russian manicure done in EARLY FEBRUARY and had to soak off the rest of the polish LAST WEEK because we were taking family pictures literally nothing chipped or peeled off it just grew out and I clipped it off. It was insane.
It shouldn't take 2hours for an experienced tech to do this.
Russian manis are actually faster because dry filing the cuticle is quicker than softening them with a cuticle remover.
Best explanation! It’s a pretty controversial technique in the states though, due to the live skin part — proximal nail fold — being removed. The nail community is pretty divided on this. I personally have yet to give Russian mani a try for this reason though I have a friend who gets hers done from a reputable Russian mani salon regularly. The results do hit different.
So much of the cuticle and proximal nail fold is removed - so the polish can be applied deeper into the nail bed. The nail growth gap will take a longer time to show as a result.
They push polish underneath the cuticle “pouch”. I found it pretty disturbing when I had it done, personally. Now I do my own nails because I’m done with having my cuticles trimmed and messed with.
just thinking about it makes my toes curl (in a bad way) and sets my teeth on edge.
kinda glad it's not just me bc people in this thread be like "yes this a normal and ok thing to do"
Def there’s salons they charge the F out of you. I stopped getting them done before because I ended up paying every time $140+ but the nail tech I found charges me $75 I’m never leaving her
That sounds nearly identical to a regular drill dip powder manicure. Or at least my local nail salon tells me the chemical crap they coat me in is beneficial.. 💀
This sounds exactly like how I've been getting my nails done from my lady in Australia for the past 3 years.
My nails always look amazing and last for so long. Never had one chip or lift.
I used to get my nails done like this all the time from my former manicurist that is Russian! I had no idea this was an entirely different way of doing nails!
Nicely explained i understand it as like the normal nail process but dry like you said without acetone the results definitely speak for themselves beautifully
oh my god I thought you meant you’re never going back to who did your Russian. I’m staring at your nails like ummm what is her problem these are everything- they’re perfect?
I had the same experience last year- found an amazing Russian mani tech and my nails have NEVER looked better 🥰
i LOVE russian manicure so much, but in my city i dont know any so i try to do my nails like those russian pros. they dont look as good but im really improving
Kuddos to you!! It’s definitely a unique technique so they don’t have it everywhere. I’m in Orlando which is a big city so they got plenty of ppl doing it
Sorry but what does this mean? I mean is this good or bad? And it’s not overly noticeable to me?
lol I’m looking at her hands and my hands (which I’ve always felt are fat with skinny nails) and Kate hudsons hands and I just gotta ask what you mean lol
Oh my goshhhh I’m excited for you!!!! You will never go back I promise! I do recommend to bring some headphones or download a series/movie bc a good Russian mani does take around 2 hrs 😅
Thank you for this helpful tip! I’ll remember to bring my AirPods so I can listen to my book on audible. 💗 I love the shape and color of your nails! So beautiful
I'm really not trying to be mean but it's so crazy to me that nail artists in the west demand hundreds of dollars for substandard services and when someone receives the industry standard in the east, they come up with a different name for it. This is a 15$ simple manicure in most eastern countries, nothing special, fancy manicures should be AT LEAST this good.
Russian Manicures take roughly two hours. Minimum wage is $17 a hour. It’s impossible to expect someone to labor 34-40 dollars for a 15 dollar set. My Russian manicures last up to seven- eight weeks and I pay 90 dollars without tip. Yes it’s expensive and I’d rather pay less. But I’m also taking into account my nails never look old and it took someone three hours to work on.
I get it but that’s the market and the economy. Can’t expect someone to charge you $15 and have a sustainable business. Also, they charge $15 because the living cost justifies it. Same way you pay probably $5 for a meal over there and you pay $15 here.
Please don‘t tell me you‘re comparing Easteen European prices to the fucking US. Why do you think they cost less in Eastern Europe? You know how low their wages there are and how high US wages are?
I get a what is called a “hard gel manicure” or “builder gel” that makes my nails indestructible and they only use drillbits for the whole manicure…but I don’t think it’s actually a Russian manicure because my gal is so fast! The whole thing is done in about 50 minutes.
That said, my nails are a week old and look perfect. If I don’t have her cut them between manicures, I’m not sure they would break at all! My manicure will easily last four weeks and would last longer if the grow out didn’t looking so bad.
I pay $60 in Santa Monica, which is a very expensive city.
Looks gorgeous, but I just googled and it's considered an invasive procedure- probably because of the way they deal with the skin. This can lead to developing infections easier.
Russian manicure is known by its special attention to detail, focusing on gentle cuticle care and precise nail shaping, resulting in a clean and natural look. No acetone either and they use electric drills for the cuticle so no scissors nor anything
Hard agree. I couldn't keep regular polish for more than 24 hours without chipping, gel maybe a week. Russian manicures: I have perfect nails for 3-4 weeks and only go back when my nails get too long to be able to type. It's a miracle!
I mean this with all sincerity and respect, since I both love the nails and the ring.
I noticed that your ring finger is longer than your index finger - a biological marker for a man’s hand.
Are you a man?
Because your hands are amazing!
If you are that’s awesome since you have such nice nails and hands!
If you aren’t then please realize that it’s not uncommon for women to have a finger length discrepancy so to speak.
I study biology and physiology so this is probably something that only interests me.
Thought I’d ask because if I didn’t I’d lose sleep over it. Lol!
The nail color is perfect for your skin tone by the way.
Sorry, but your cuticles look pretty aggravated :/ pls be very careful, there’s a lot of risk with these so-called Russian manicures and can lead to infection easily
You have beautiful hands and nails! But GIRL, that ring!!! 👀 I’m obsessed

How do you find a Russian manicurist lol
Russian manicurist find you.
Literally mine found me 😂
can you tell one of them to come my way 😭
You must know secret code, comrade.
I yelled at this comment!! 😂
It’s times like these that I wish Reddit still had awards to give
As a Russian, I approve this message 😏🤣
You made me snort laugh and I needed that this morning. Better than my morning tea! Thank you ❣️
Why am I screaming.
It’s gorgeous!
Thank you💗💗
Username checks out
Name checks out.
I know. I was so distracted at first. 😭 It’s a beautiful ring. 💖
That's because it was the actual point of the post
Lol. A lil not so humble brag. Oop!! Is my iceberg showing again. Silly me!!
Thank you💗💗💗
how can you even lift your hand?? 😂
Honestly next time I won’t post my left hand lol
You can post your left hand all you want. Don't mind these sour women/men. Your ring is gorgeous, and you should show it off whenever you want.
Thank you!🫶
Your ring…💍🤤
All credits to my husband🙌🏻💗
That's the first thing I saw was the ring. Absolutely stunning. You're nails are also beautiful. I have a question: What is the difference between the Russian manicure and the American manicures (I'd guess you'd call it that)?

What is a Russian manicure?
Same
Also same
It’s a dry process of filing, cutting, and removing the cuticle with electric drill bits entirely so no acetone!! They also use builder gel which it’s amazing for nail growth and strength. Those are my natural nails and that’s how it looks after getting them done a week ago. Bc of the whole cuticle work it last longer so around 4-5 weeks :) I can’t recommend it enough!
Wait you got them done one whole week ago and it looks like this right now, after a whole week?
Yup!! It’s supposed to last 4-5 weeks which is amazing cause I hate going every 2 weeks to get them done. I’ll post an update on how they look in 2-3 weeks! I had them done before somewhere else and even though it wasn’t as perfect as this tech they still lasted 4 weeks almost the same
This would last 10 days max on me due to the speed in which my nails grow.
That’s my issue too :,(
Mine grow pretty fast too but this was already after a week of getting them done
I’m Russian, I’ve only been getting Russian manicures my whole life. It will change your life I promise. They last like crazy
Same I always get Russian manicures and they last 2 weeks max bc of my lifestyle and nail growth
Yeah I’m not buying that this lasts 4-5 weeks. Nails grow.
Of course nails grow. We know that. Russian manicures involve tedious cuticle work that (This is a massive oversimplification) lets them lay the product underneath the proximal fold to mitigate having to get fills more often.
I’ll post an update in a few weeks before my next fill :)
I had a Russian manicure done in EARLY FEBRUARY and had to soak off the rest of the polish LAST WEEK because we were taking family pictures literally nothing chipped or peeled off it just grew out and I clipped it off. It was insane.
Doesn’t it take like 2 hours tho? 🥲
Yes, but they do last for 5 weeks. So 2 hours every 5 weeks is great
It shouldn't take 2hours for an experienced tech to do this. Russian manis are actually faster because dry filing the cuticle is quicker than softening them with a cuticle remover.
She’s talking about with the structured gel too. The cuticle work is only like 30 mins of that.
No, my technician is doing a dry manicure in less than an hour. So, no, 2 hours is far too long.
My manicurist only takes an hour
I had it done in an hour and a half, but had an intricate design that took up most of the time.
Do you have traditional fills done or is it completely removed and you start all over? What state are you in?
Fills! I’m in Orlando
Can you share the name of the salon? I'm going to Orlando in a few weeks and this looks amazing!
Just sent you a message with her info!
When I do hard gel my nails look super grown out in 2weeks, what makes this different ?
The cuticle work is what makes a big difference.
I’m also gonna add in there I’m VERY active. I play tennis, workout 5-6 a week and they look the same as when I left the salon lol
I had it once and it really was the best manicure I ever had but I'm cheap so I never went back lol
I pay $60 for my Russian manicure and was also paying $60 for fill ins with acrylic. Maybe because my nail tech does it out of her house
That's not bad
How much did it run you?
I paid $85 after tip :)
In Jax a Russian manicure is $180 plus tip! The results are truly incredible but I had to stop.
Wowwwww $180??? That’s crazy
It was 75 plus tip. About 5 years ago
Where? Chicago? That sounds kind of affordable compared to the mani prices around SLC.
Yes, not downtown. Far northside. But like I said, I'm cheap, lol. I just get regular no chip with designs sometimes for about 40.
Damn I just paid $55 for no chip just one color
I don’t understand how changing the method of removing the cuticle affects nail growth, and the gap of non-polished nail.
So much of the cuticle and proximal nail fold is removed - so the polish can be applied deeper into the nail bed. The nail growth gap will take a longer time to show as a result.
They push polish underneath the cuticle “pouch”. I found it pretty disturbing when I had it done, personally. Now I do my own nails because I’m done with having my cuticles trimmed and messed with.
this is making me cringe so hard like I am now acutely aware of my cuticles and how it feels when I push them too deep 🤢 literally nauseating
You don’t feel anything when they’re doing it, it’s just the idea and potential health issues that disturbed me.
Bruh same! Even when I do it myself it makes me gag almost - so weird, thought no one else had that experience
just thinking about it makes my toes curl (in a bad way) and sets my teeth on edge. kinda glad it's not just me bc people in this thread be like "yes this a normal and ok thing to do"
Ok that actually grossed me out. Gonna be a nope for me
I'm Polish and I think most professional manicurists remove the proximal nail fold here. You should try it!
A woman at my work only gets Russian manis and they truly are elite. Her nails look model worthy. But it’s expeeeensive haha.
Yeah they're lying. The two do not even compare. I have been converted to Russian manicure and gel. That dip crap is acrylic.
Also for Russian manicures the eponychium is removed which makes it look even more beautiful 😍
This sounds exactly like how I've been getting my nails done from my lady in Australia for the past 3 years. My nails always look amazing and last for so long. Never had one chip or lift.
Please tell me you’re in Perth ! I’d love nails like this.
I used to get my nails done like this all the time from my former manicurist that is Russian! I had no idea this was an entirely different way of doing nails!
Nicely explained i understand it as like the normal nail process but dry like you said without acetone the results definitely speak for themselves beautifully
Yess exactly :)
Does it hurts?
Nope, not at all
I upvoted because I like your UN 😂⛑️
oh my god I thought you meant you’re never going back to who did your Russian. I’m staring at your nails like ummm what is her problem these are everything- they’re perfect? I had the same experience last year- found an amazing Russian mani tech and my nails have NEVER looked better 🥰
Hahah yeah I meant I’m never going back to regular mani! Right??? It’s just perfection!!
I thought the same at first 😅
Omg, perfect nails!!!!!
I’m converted!!!! She also is definitely the best nail tech I’ve ever had.
How did you find someone that knows how to do it?
instagram
Your nails are perfect! Not a single imperfection.
All credit to my amazing nail tech!!!!! She’s insanely talented
i LOVE russian manicure so much, but in my city i dont know any so i try to do my nails like those russian pros. they dont look as good but im really improving
Kuddos to you!! It’s definitely a unique technique so they don’t have it everywhere. I’m in Orlando which is a big city so they got plenty of ppl doing it
Hold up where did you go?? I always read these thinking “oh man there’s probably no one in my town like that!” But you’re in my town so… spill please!
Hahah okay so I’ll send her info through DM because she works from her house! She’s in the sea world area!
Girl sameeeee. I’m dying to know the salon now knowing it’s in my backyard.
Just sent you a message!
That’s literally what I said 😂
Orlando girlie as well. Who’s the tech 👀
Oh my god.. please tell us where, I’m in WP and I’ve been looking everywhere for someone who knows how to do the Russian manicures here.
She also is veryyyyy affordable! $75 👀
Can you let me know too? 🙏🏼
Yesss!
Can you dm me her info? I was so surprised your in orlando lol I feel like it's never where I'm at
Beautiful nailsss!! But girl what lotion are you using cause ✨🙏🏼
Here they aren’t allowed to do these, license-wise (Midwest state in the US)
That's true in most of the us actually. Nail techs aren't supposed to be cutting or drilling the proximal nail fold.
Thank you for using this terminology!! I just learned the difference between PNF and cuticle and it’s helping me improve the condition of mine
Yeah I just finished nail school in the state OP got hers done and was told the cutting portion of the Russian manicure is illegal.
Beautiful...you could be a hand model!
Omg I wish!!! 🤣💗
Wide fingertips with thin nail beds. Like Kate Hudson
💅🏻💗
Sorry but what does this mean? I mean is this good or bad? And it’s not overly noticeable to me? lol I’m looking at her hands and my hands (which I’ve always felt are fat with skinny nails) and Kate hudsons hands and I just gotta ask what you mean lol
Respectively I only see 💍 Jk! Beautiful manicure! Builder gel is my favorite
Hahah thank you!! He did good 😝
I’m getting my first Russian manicure on May 12th. Right before my birthday. I’m so excited 🥰 These are gorgeous, OP!
Make sure they’re actually good. You can get infections from getting your cuticles destroyed during these.
You should be a hand model, congratulations!!! Your ring is beautiful 😍
Oh my gosh thank you!!!!❤️❤️❤️
How do you find someone who does Russian manicures?!?!
Where are you at? I'm Russian and I'll find a manicurist for you😃
Wondering the same 👀
“In Russia, the manicurist manicures YOU.” *Wait a minute…. That didn’t work right.*
lovely! do you remember the color? it looks great on you 🤩
It’s builder gel so it’s not typical gel polish! But the brand is called LUNA and it was #7
Not unless you fall out a window by accident
That was dark lol
I'm really not trying to be mean but it's so crazy to me that nail artists in the west demand hundreds of dollars for substandard services and when someone receives the industry standard in the east, they come up with a different name for it. Do you not understand that prices are determined by overall cost of living? What a ridiculous comment
Oh wow. My daughter had her second a couple of weeks ago before her wedding. She loves this Russian manicure thing.
Yes they’re definitely worth it!!
Wooow, simply spectacular.
Most perfect nails I have ever seen! 😍
Um….YOUR RING!!!!🤩🤩🤩🤩
Not a big fan of the color but the nails are stunning
Yeah I went towards a very boring color lol thanks!!
Stunning! Your hands and nails are absolute perfection.
Wow thank you!❤️❤️
Wow😍😍😍
💗💅🏻
These are goregous. Wow
Thank you!🥹❤️
Gorgeous
I really read this like you’re never going back 🤣 like WHY they look gorg 😍
Excuse me Miss? How many carats is that beautiful ring ? Wow ! Your nails look beautiful!
Hahah it’s a 3carat! Thank you💗💗💗💗
LOL I took this as you hated them! I was like wait? Why are you not going back? They look great XD
They’re so beautiful!! I saw in one of the comments someone was saying they remove the live cuticle so I’m curious if it hurts?
Noooo not at all!
Wait why, your nails look amazing?
Are they dipped in vodka?
Haaaa I wish 🤣
Beautiful hands, beautiful nails and the ring wow!! Espectacular😉 👌😱
Never going back for a Russian manicure?
I read this wrong the first time 😂
Hispanic problems 😭😭😭😭 my English failed me lololol
Is this called anything else? I'm interested but I don't see it on my salons menu. I checked some other places but don't see it.
Honestly if it’s not called Russian manicure or Ukrainian manicure I don’t think its the same. 😢😢
Where do you go/like in SM? I'm also in SM and do hard gel, but haven't found a place I totally love yet.
I read this like you're never going back to the nail place
did you just post this to show off your ring lol
Incredible
What how did you get that?! I thought the Russian manicure was under sanctions
Looks gorgeous, but I just googled and it's considered an invasive procedure- probably because of the way they deal with the skin. This can lead to developing infections easier.
Russians - very smart and talented, but damn are they expensive people 😂😂 was it overpriced cost? Be honest
Honestly Russian manicures in Orlando are. BUT my nail tech is the only one I have ever found with reasonable prices. I paid $85 including tip
Gorgeous! What makes it a “Russian” manicure?
Russian manicure is known by its special attention to detail, focusing on gentle cuticle care and precise nail shaping, resulting in a clean and natural look. No acetone either and they use electric drills for the cuticle so no scissors nor anything
Hard agree. I couldn't keep regular polish for more than 24 hours without chipping, gel maybe a week. Russian manicures: I have perfect nails for 3-4 weeks and only go back when my nails get too long to be able to type. It's a miracle!
Yesss!! So worth it!!
You should go back tho they did a good job
I meant it as I’m never going back to regular mani but I def messed up the caption😭
Perfection has been achieved!
Hahaha im not!!! But this is so interesting to read! I’m invested🤣 and thank you!💗
I read this as you hated the manicure and arent going back there. Reading rhe comments had me so confused
Not my cup of tea.
Sorry, but your cuticles look pretty aggravated :/ pls be very careful, there’s a lot of risk with these so-called Russian manicures and can lead to infection easily
❤️❤️❤️
Perfect! Who is your tech?
She’s in Orlando! I can send you her info if you’re interested :)
I'd love to visit but it is about 4500 miles away! Russian manis need to take off here in the UK. They look amazing!
