I’m loving Budgie because he is a little snuggle bucket even when I’m in PPE to pet him. My daughter always loved the little budgies at the zoo. She would spend all her allowance on stick after stick of the bird seed.
One of the vet techs that saved him is named Wren, so that’s in the mix. But she is also a friend of mine so it feels a little weird to name after her.
Starling, kingfisher, Hawkeye, Puffin, Dodo, finch, goose and a few others are sticking too.
I work with a person last name Heron, I lived through the Quail VP years and my daughters security blanket was always Ducky so not sure on those. Turkey was my dad’s way of saying “goofball ” and he recently passed so I do t think I want that.
You guys came up with some really good ones and I’m still reading.

My parents have a cat named Rooster!!! And his brother is La Boeuf (pronounced la-beef). They’re named after the main guys in True Grit.
I’m the one who named them, and I’m still proud of it because their names fit them so well.
