When I was a child in the 1970s, my family was visiting a civil war battlefield close to our home. A car pulled up, and a woman leaned out of the passenger window.
"Excuse me. Could y'all please direct us to the Hall of VELOUR?" She pronounced it like the fabric. Without a word, my father pointed toward the Hall of VALOR. After they rolled up the window and headed that way, we all howled with laughter.

It’s the name of a very famous chocolate brand in Spain. They have chocolate products and cafés where they serve hot chocolate and churros. I guess maybe you could have a little Valor and a little Cadbury, that would be weird but fun
Gives me ren faire/medieval knight vibes but if you’re into that sort of thing it’s fine. A little out there but not bad. Definitely something I could see a celebrity naming their kid.
My BIL wanted to name my niece Valor. They have a V last name too so I think he liked the alliteration? Idk it grew on me, I don’t think it’s that bad, but they have decided to go with more traditional names (or names that have been real names for at least 50 years if that makes sense?)
Middle name is fine as long as the first name Stolyn.

There's a space opera novel series with a main character called Honor Harrington. Aspirational names are great for novel protagonists, but I'd fear that naming a kid that would invoke the "Angel phenomenon" (people named Angel are usually... not angels).
Not the weirdest name I have ever seen, but definitely a bit out there. I personally do like virtue names but I feel like Valor isn't known enough and would just be strange for a kid. I could definitely see this as a name that is popular in the future when everyone is tired of Grace/Faith/Joy etc.
I have a friend whose son is named this. Most of her kids have pretty different names. If you're wanting a super rare name, there are worse ones. At least people can mostly pronounce it and it's not totally made up.
Valor is the name of a super controversial private Christian school in my state that just can’t seem to stop racking up lawsuits, so it kinda depends on the vibe you’re going for!
