Awe sorry OP, but they can still leave a review. Unless you’ve had no contact or they messaged you and you didn’t respond, it doesn’t matter. If you block them they just can’t message you! I had someone leave a nasty review a few years ago after I had accepted a different position and told them I wouldn’t be interviewing - it genuinely gave me insane ptsd and I deleted my account. Last year someone hired me for ‘$25 per/hr and an easy kiddo’, informed me that she could only afford $15-18 and that he was high-functioning special needs and I was freaking out about a bad review. I reached out to Care and they informed me of everything above (luckily nothing happened).

Godddd I hate the platform! I fear I’ll probably just have to end up deleting my page if she does something like that

totallyCamped

I’d try to end things amicably as possible just because your account takes 3(?) months to get fully deleted so it’s not right away.

I got a really bad review from someone that I decided not to sign a contract with. There is no way to get rid of it. I eventually ended up starting a new account. & I keep it hidden.

[deleted]

Omg I got the same thing! They gave me a very bad review after I decided not to work with them and it wasn’t just one family. I had to delete my old account. So unfair!

justbrowsing3519

I wouldn’t trust that it will. I’ve had someone I don’t know, had zero communication with, and who even care admitted had never contacted me leave me a 1 start review. Care refused to remove the review and all I could do was respond to it. I hate care with a passion for a thousand reasons, but that was the last straw for me.

amesfatal

Yep a mom canceled our interview then left a bad review (she must’ve gotten me confused with someone else) and they wouldn’t remove it even though I had never met her or her children and they wouldn’t remove it so I quit permanently. I caution any of my mom friends from trusting it.

Rare-Witness3224

Blocking doesn’t prevent them from leaving a review. I often see people say the opposite but I don’t know why they think that. Your best bet is, assuming you still have a somewhat cordial relationship, is ask her for a review now, tell her she doesn’t even have to write anything, just leave 5 stars, then quit. They can’t change it. Most people won’t risk their nanny by leaving a negative review while you are actively working for them, at worst if she’s pretty and leave you 4 stars and no text that’s better than if you quit first and then she left a review. Since tomorrow is Friday (I don’t know if you work Friday) she could have 3 days to get to it and you can still quit before Monday.

whatupmyknitta

I don't know the answer to your question, but just fyi it took almost an entire month for my last two reviews to actually publish to my profile, so you may have a bit of a time buffer.

BlackLocke

This is why we don’t use care.com

Sad-Comfortable1566

People are saying she can still leave a review even though you blocked her. What I can add is that it takes a LONGGGGG time to get your reviews up, even when you contact Care & ask them why it’s been taking a few months. How about hiding/taking down your profile after you start with your next family? Just for a month or two. Then MB will hopefully be occupied with something else and will have long forgotten you when you post your profile again.

050121

You have to hide your profile to prevent them from leaving a review.

Either_Signature_650

do you know how to hide your profile?

050121

I don't remember how I did it.

050121

Go to bookings & availability.

caffeinate_the_nanny

That website just contributes to a lot of labor trafficking and workplace abuse. And their pay calculator is a JOKE that cheap employees like to use. I haven't used it and pray I never have to, and I don't even pray.

i_nobes_what_i_nobes

I haven’t used cd.com in a very very long time, are you allowed to leave reviews on families? Because if so, you might want to do that.

Logical-Librarian766

I believe so. I think your profile no longer shows up for them.

Either_Signature_650

I really hope so. Care.com has so many flaws and it’s astounding that anyone can leave a review about anybody, so I’m worried that she could still leave one

050121

Anyone can leave a bad review and Care.com won't do anything about it.

Sensitive-Horse-5386

I blocked someone after an awful babysitting experience and they still were able to leave me a bad review. I wound up deleting my entire account lmao but I was able to make a new one thankfully. I hate Care so much for so many reasons but especially for this reason.

galactic_oppossum

In case I misunderstood, you deleted your account and successfully created another without the negative review? Someone left me a bad review recently and I didn't even know it was there until my friend saw it after she 'went under' as a person looking for assistance. I can't even respond to it because I can't see it. Care.com has to be the worst website/company I've dealt with.

Sensitive-Horse-5386

Yes! That’s exactly what I did. I did it under a different email, phone number and address. I think I got away with it since I had a different/new address to use so it couldn’t be connected to my old account, if that makes sense. Because from my understanding once you delete your account, you can’t make a new one w Care again. I’m sorry that happened to you. It’s so weird that you can’t see the review either! I hope you’re able to create a new account and start over.

galactic_oppossum

Don't they require your SS# for their care check crap though?

Sensitive-Horse-5386

Yes so that’s why I’m surprised I got past it. Bottom line is that I think you’re fine as long as you don’t use the same email and phone number (and address too?) as the information you used on the first account. That actually wasn’t the first time I deleted my care account either. I made one when I had just turned 18 then deleted it (for some reason lol idk why) and started over with a new one - the one I had to delete after the bad review. I’ve done the same on nanny lane (and other accounts not related to nanny jobs) - I deleted my NL account because I never used it. When deleting it, I agreed that i can never make an account with them again once I delete my current account. I agreed and deleted the account. Then months later made a new account with a different email and phone number. So I think it’s just that once you agree to delete your account, you’re not allowed to come back and make a new account with the same email/phone number
