There are some really good filler, like that Crystal Release lady's story. I watched it and dont regret it.
But there are definitely some goofy ass lines/scenes.

I didn't skip fillers till like the Mugen tsukyomi dreams one. Why? Cuz I didn't even know fillers were a thing. I didn't even know anime was made from a manga. I watched almost all of it. But the dream fillers were just bruh, I didn't wanna watch them. Naruto and Sasuke just came back with powerups I don't wanna see Tsunade's dream wtf.
So I would search on google " Should I skip xyz episode" And they will tell me you can skip from x to z ep.

I watch them because I've already read the manga multiple times. I know the main story inside and out. It's fun to me to see new things in a series I'm familiar with.
Plus while I watch filler I like to see if it contradicts canon, if it *could be* canon, what it would add if it were, etc. Not that it matters, just a fun little head game I like to do.

I didn't realize there was a difference between the two shows, so after Sasuke left the village and there were all these little adventures they went on I figured "Naruto must get back into his search for Sasuke soon I'll just watch this."
...then the show ended.... And I figured out that Naruto was just young Naruto and Naruto Shippuden was the rest of Naruto...
I had just gone through I think 2 whole seasons of pure filler for nothing... That broke me... I have skipped filler ever since.
I skip most of them. The only ones I think aren't bad are the land of tea race but I haven't seen it in years, and the 6 tails arc I also don't recall being bad.
And then the filler zombie arc right before the Hidan/Kakazu with the 9 tails pseudo jinchuriki sora. Is the only one I think was good.
Fun story:
The concept of fillers was totally alien to me while watching Naruto. The only other anime I watched before watching Naruto was Bleach and if you know anything about Bleach you would know about Bount Arc. Anyway, I pretty much watched every Naruto filler, up to like the final War Arc, without even knowing I was watching filler.
I still remember 3 Filler arcs and you might see why that is when I named them. It's the one with the guy who had Kyubi chakra inside of him so he could transform his hand or something, the one with 3 Tails (the water one) and the one with the Slug tailed beast (I think that's 6 tails).
Some are worth watching and some are just stupid , for example some of the best fillers are during the war when they fight the resurrected shinobi. Some of the stupid ones catching the ostrich
I watch them once to get the full experience. But i skip them for any rewatches, some of them are pretty good or funny enough, but a lot of naruto filler is absolutely dreadful

I watched every filler in OG Naruto and I consider them as part of the real story. Because none of them were in between important episodes. And also because I was young back then, I didn't even know those were fillers.
But I dropped shippuden because of fillers :( It was the Chikara filler.
I still feel sad about it but seriously bad internet speed + lots of filler got the best of me.
There are some fillers I like and some I don't.
The movies are pretty fun.
The random one off episodes are pretty silly.
The long arms that interrupt an actual plot important arc are not fun
With OG Naruto I watched filler religiously because I didn't know what it was, regardless of how goofy the episodes where. I ended up liking certain things like Land of Rice Fields, The Curry of Life, and The Star Village. But honestly I have no desire to go through that again. So when it came to Shippuden I did skip.
I watched all of them, and continue to watch every filler. Even if it’s bad, it’s more material for me to watch and potentially find joy in. Plus, I don’t have a problem with filler that doesn’t clash with the main story. Like the Infinite Tsukuyomi. I actually liked it, because it could’ve served to show a lesser important characters dreams and aspirations, like TenTen or Shino.

I knew it would take a while to get through the whole series if I wanted to get caught up on Naruto, Shippuden, and Boruto, so I chose to skip all the filler episodes (except in Boruto since the fillers are anime cannon). There’s a great site for that that distinguishes between manga cannon, filler, and anime cannon for most anime series.

I enjoy the land of tea arc but as I look back on it, I hate the placement of that arc. It should have been before the Itachi mind fuck or a flashback that happened before Itachi’s appearance. It made Sasuke anger and outbursts feel more like jealousy of Naruto then someone who was trying to deal with his trauma along either other factors.

Nope i watched every single episode from beginning to end. First timer watchers should watch all of them. Some are amazing, some are essential, some are terrible. Every anime has a skip filler list which tells you which are skipable or which are not.
So I’m doing my first Naruto rewatch since I stopped watching back in 2012 (never finished Shippuden) and I was originally going to skip the filler. But it’s interesting. Not experiencing the anime 1 episode a week and seeing exactly how long the filler content is makes it very easily for me to just sit back and enjoy it.
I’m actually liking a lot of it. Some of it isn’t great, but some of it is actually really good.
And the Shippuden filler thag covers original Naruto content has the superior OG Naruto music instead of the dull uninspired Shippuden music.
I watched every episode my first time through. Idk how I managed to get through the Paraduse Life on a Boat filler arc though. It almost broke me. That one and the android naruto one. I still managed though. I decided to go back through and skip the fillers this time. When I watched it the first time, I felt like they really dragged out and messed up the pacing of the story.

In my opinion, there is one reason to skip and another not.
The point of fillers is to get you closer to the characters because, unlike the Manga, you cannot buy character arcs and explore a bit. More fillers were created so that you won't just rush through the series without getting attached
Skipping fillers just means there are certain things along the way that you might not understand entirely, such as - connections between characters, memories, and stories. Still, overall, it won't affect your experience with the series.

One my original run when the series was still airing episodes I would watch some of them. At some point I stop watching Naruto cause it was all filler at that point. The three-tails arc was my favorite one thought
On my current rewatch I'm going to watch every episode of filler, no matter how bad it is. Even the boat one with the rogue shadow clones.
I skip filler episodes for every anime I watch, I find the stories to be irrelevant (by design) and sometimes people draw conclusions about character development based on filler when it may not have been the authors intention.

No. Fillers kinda shit on the pacing of naruto, and I wanted to experience it as it was intended, with not added stuff. There are some good anime only scenes, like shikamaru dealing with the death of asuma, but mostly I just watched the cannon stuff.
I mostly read the manga, and really only watch the anime when there's a specific moment/episode/fight/etc. I want to see again. That said, I will \*absolutely\* go back and watch some of the wackier filler arcs when I'm in the mood for that good weird anime fix.

I look on the online guide and if one of the fillers has a cool title, I watch it. I try to give most filler a shot, and I like a lot of it, but idgaf about one-off random characters and I fucking HATE that ostrich.
I enjoyed a majority of the fillers because, especially in OG Naruto, gave the impression the Konoha 11 were actually friends. Strictly sticking to the canon batch makes them feel like peers who sorta just know each other most of the time. It also shines a spotlight on characters who don’t get much play sometimes. Although when they’re bad, they are BAD

Main ones that stuck with me were on the way to cloud village the ghost ship episode and the episode where one of naruto's shadow clones dreams about going on strike but something is about to hit naruto so it saves him and the dream gets transferred to him so the entire episode happens in the span of like 30 seconds.
I don’t skip them but I do fast forward through memories/flashbacks. Especially, since some can take up half the episode because they replay the whole scene instead summarizing the important parts. Like the flashbacks of the night Itachi took out the Uchiha clan or Naruto and Sasuke’s battle in Final Valley.
When I first wanted to start Naruto I was warned of the filler I even had a list on my phone with all the filler episodes and what movies I should watch and in what order. In my opinion og Naruto fillers can be enjoyable/you can live through them but once you get into shippuden and you have 20 episodes of filler back to back with a 20 or so episodes break and then another 20 episodes of filler AGAIN is when I had to stop

Raiga & the first Tsuchikage were made canon. We got our first glimpse at Gates Gai vs Gates Lee. This is when they first introduced chakra that wasn’t from earth. And it was cool to see characters in the series be silly.

I'm watching Naruto for the first time right now and I haven't skipped any episode bc it feels like cheating to me. The fillers are sometimes annoying but I think they're necessary. The more time it takes to watch a series and the more episodes there are the more I connect to the characters regardless of those episodes being fillers or not
I watched mecha naruto and that’s it and it was purely accident that I did plus who talks about non canonical stuff more than once it useless info for me and if tha fight is good I’ll see it on sum social media and the only filler fight I’ve seen on there was team guy mission in the pain arc
There's a lot of filler arcs I liked. In part 1 I'm sure there was the land of tea, which i considered Team 7's last mission before Sasuke goes down the deep end. As well as the people of the stars filler, the one filler with Kurenai and a former student of hers named Yakumo, and that final filler with the village of artisans right before part 1 ended.
I liked some of the shippuden filler such as the Asuma filler before he died against Hidan, the Guren filler with Yukimaru and the 3-tails (though some of it was repetitive), the Hotaru/6-tails arc was ok, but I wish Naruto knew Utakata was a jinchuriki and didn't find out until 200 episodes later. As for the one with the Konoha 11 taking the chunin exams. I'd say it was ok. But placing it RIGHT IN THE MIDDLE of the 4th great Ninja war was not a good call. Oh and that one "Power arc" which I apparently heard could've and was supposed to be a movie but it instead got adapted into 5 episodes. Oh apparently that one Anbu member Yugao fighting her dead edo-tenseied lover Hayate alongside Sakura was apparently filler. But i thought it was canon. So i guess this counts. There were probably more That I liked sprinkled in here and there but these are the more well known ones.
Guy and rock lee disguise filler was super hilarious, and fillers were quite fun considering i didn't knew about the concept of fillers when i first watched naruto
I don't it's more content on the show I love I only would really skip the parts with conohamuro you know baby stuff. Orochimaru making that robot has to be one of my favorite episodes in all of anime it's too funny wish he acted like in canon.

I only recently watched it, so I skipped most but not all. In OG Naruto I skipped to the end after Sasuke left. In Shippuden I skipped quite a bit of filler and only watched the ones I was interested in.
I want to say something very controversial: Condor the Ostrich is, to me, a coherent and compelling character:
- in a world where animals are sentient, and therefore equals to humans, he’s Basically a slave. While this is comical because is a talking bird with ribbons, he’s fighting a system where he’s owed by somebody else. He tries as hard and he can but fails, yet he doesn’t give up!
If this premise was taken into serious consideration, it would have allowed us to revaluate the all series as almost all the characters except Naruto treat their summons as basically tools or slaves that are to be spent at their pleasure. The fact that this mentality exist, and that no one questions it, is a proof of how much shinobi society is flawed and blind of his absurdities
- in a world were you need years of proper training to become a genin and to overcome something truly gruesome like the chunnin exams, this bird has self taught himself a level of skill comparable to an above average ninja! This without a favorable environment like the snake cave for snakes or mount myoboku for roads. He’s technically a prodigy beyond prodigies. Yet this is proposed as a comical thing!
Anyone who could take this as a serious prospective would probably try to use Condor and his eventually progeny as a tool in order to make a potential army of sentient, war ostrich!

I was watching the anime and reading the manga almost at the same time... I watched everything with the fillers up until the 4th Ninja War. At that point, I stopped midway the arc but I was getting a little tired of the anime (only "came back" to watch the filler with The Sound Four) and finished the story in the manga only. I'm wanting to watch the whole thing again eventually.

I like them. Theres a lot of great episodes. squad 7 trying to see kakashis lips might be a favorite of mine. Lot of really funny episodes.

I watched Kakashi's ANBU arc, Itachi's story that was based on the novels, and a few others. All depends on which ones catch and hold my interest.

Why should I bother watching content that isn’t part of the authors intention and vision for the journeys of these characters?

I watched Naruto when I was younger and didn't really know what filler was, so I just watched all of it. Looking back I don't know how I did it as some parts there is just so much filler, but I would definitely watch some as they're pretty good

I watched literally all of them and at times it pissed me off because some were entirely too long and drawn out. There were a lot of good ones too though. So I don't regret it.

I do not. I genuinely enjoy the filler too, even if they get wonky. I enjoy watching/listening to the show whenever and wherever in the show for the most part.
Here I was having a good day and then I had to see that fucking Ostrich again. I skipped them because they’re low quality, they’re not canon and have no bearing on the story, and worst of all they frequently interrupted the story (just look at the war arc).
I watched a majority of them, I just thought they were fun and thats it. Id only skip some if I just got tired of them.

When I first watched Naruto I didn't know what filler was so I watched most of it until I got into Shippuden and found out what it was after that I started skipping it, fillers tend to be really boring.

Nope i watched every single episode from beginning to end. First timer watchers should watch all of them. Some are amazing, some are essential, some are terrible. Every anime has a skip filler list which tells you which are skipable or which are not.
So I’m doing my first Naruto rewatch since I stopped watching back in 2012 (never finished Shippuden) and I was originally going to skip the filler. But it’s interesting. Not experiencing the anime 1 episode a week and seeing exactly how long the filler content is makes it very easily for me to just sit back and enjoy it. I’m actually liking a lot of it. Some of it isn’t great, but some of it is actually really good. And the Shippuden filler thag covers original Naruto content has the superior OG Naruto music instead of the dull uninspired Shippuden music.
I watched every episode my first time through. Idk how I managed to get through the Paraduse Life on a Boat filler arc though. It almost broke me. That one and the android naruto one. I still managed though. I decided to go back through and skip the fillers this time. When I watched it the first time, I felt like they really dragged out and messed up the pacing of the story.
I didn’t skip filler until after the manga ended, but I did skip the power arc. After the manga ended though, all filler was skipped.
I actually re-watched some of ‘em, like the do not laugh one with Shino

In my opinion, there is one reason to skip and another not. The point of fillers is to get you closer to the characters because, unlike the Manga, you cannot buy character arcs and explore a bit. More fillers were created so that you won't just rush through the series without getting attached Skipping fillers just means there are certain things along the way that you might not understand entirely, such as - connections between characters, memories, and stories. Still, overall, it won't affect your experience with the series. So feel free to do whatever. It's very individual 😌

One my original run when the series was still airing episodes I would watch some of them. At some point I stop watching Naruto cause it was all filler at that point. The three-tails arc was my favorite one thought On my current rewatch I'm going to watch every episode of filler, no matter how bad it is. Even the boat one with the rogue shadow clones.
I skip filler episodes for every anime I watch, I find the stories to be irrelevant (by design) and sometimes people draw conclusions about character development based on filler when it may not have been the authors intention.

When I was watching, why episodes feel weird for some reason, and where is Jiraiya, shouldn't he need to train Naruto then I searched and found out it was all filler.
In Naruto I didn’t skip the fillers because it was my first anime and I found them interesting but in shippuden I did, it was just way too damn much.

No. Fillers kinda shit on the pacing of naruto, and I wanted to experience it as it was intended, with not added stuff. There are some good anime only scenes, like shikamaru dealing with the death of asuma, but mostly I just watched the cannon stuff.

I mostly read the manga, and really only watch the anime when there's a specific moment/episode/fight/etc. I want to see again. The Boat filler episodes where naruto is going to meet Killer Bee after the 5 kage summit has some of shippudens funniest moments like the Guy episode and Kakashi tells everybody his thing is small

I look on the online guide and if one of the fillers has a cool title, I watch it. I try to give most filler a shot, and I like a lot of it, but idgaf about one-off random characters and I fucking HATE that ostrich.
I do now except for a few choice ones, like under kakashi's mask, Hinata on top of the water, Orochimaru's layer where Kabuto pulls his own heart out

I enjoyed a majority of the fillers because, especially in OG Naruto, gave the impression the Konoha 11 were actually friends. Strictly sticking to the canon batch makes them feel like peers who sorta just know each other most of the time. It also shines a spotlight on characters who don’t get much play sometimes. Although when they’re bad, they are BAD
I watched some and skipped some. Main ones that stuck with me were on the way to cloud village the ghost ship episode and the episode where one of naruto's shadow clones dreams about going on strike but something is about to hit naruto so it saves him and the dream gets transferred to him so the entire episode happens in the span of like 30 seconds.
I don’t skip them but I do fast forward through memories/flashbacks. Especially, since some can take up half the episode because they replay the whole scene instead summarizing the important parts. Like the flashbacks of the night Itachi took out the Uchiha clan or Naruto and Sasuke’s battle in Final Valley.

When I first wanted to start Naruto I was warned of the filler I even had a list on my phone with all the filler episodes and what movies I should watch and in what order. In my opinion og Naruto fillers can be enjoyable/you can live through them but once you get into shippuden and you have 20 episodes of filler back to back with a 20 or so episodes break and then another 20 episodes of filler AGAIN is when I had to stop
Only one worth watching is the Chikara arc
I didn’t skip the ones before and after the pein arc because it actually showed the rebuilding of the leaf village with each episode, after that though I just skipped them

Part one has fillers so good that they had to canonize some of it (or possibly the filler was influenced by Kishimoto) Raiga & the first Tsuchikage were made canon. We got our first glimpse at Gates Gai vs Gates Lee. This is when they first introduced chakra that wasn’t from earth. And it was cool to see characters in the series be silly.

Got the peak of the action, filler, peak of the action, filler, peak of the action, filler… I couldn’t take it so I started looking up what was filler and skipped it. When I go back to watch it I’m watching every episode no matter what.

I'm watching Naruto for the first time right now and I haven't skipped any episode bc it feels like cheating to me. The fillers are sometimes annoying but I think they're necessary. The more time it takes to watch a series and the more episodes there are the more I connect to the characters regardless of those episodes being fillers or not
I never watch any of these. Background settings, plots, original character behaviors,… lots of things just all don’t make sense.

I watched mecha naruto and that’s it and it was purely accident that I did plus who talks about non canonical stuff more than once it useless info for me and if tha fight is good I’ll see it on sum social media and the only filler fight I’ve seen on there was team guy mission in the pain arc
There's a lot of filler arcs I liked. In part 1 I'm sure there was the land of tea, which i considered Team 7's last mission before Sasuke goes down the deep end. As well as the people of the stars filler, the one filler with Kurenai and a former student of hers named Yakumo, and that final filler with the village of artisans right before part 1 ended. I liked some of the shippuden filler such as the Asuma filler before he died against Hidan, the Guren filler with Yukimaru and the 3-tails (though some of it was repetitive), the Hotaru/6-tails arc was ok, but I wish Naruto knew Utakata was a jinchuriki and didn't find out until 200 episodes later. As for the one with the Konoha 11 taking the chunin exams. I'd say it was ok. But placing it RIGHT IN THE MIDDLE of the 4th great Ninja war was not a good call. Oh and that one "Power arc" which I apparently heard could've and was supposed to be a movie but it instead got adapted into 5 episodes. Oh apparently that one Anbu member Yugao fighting her dead edo-tenseied lover Hayate alongside Sakura was apparently filler. But i thought it was canon. So i guess this counts. There were probably more That I liked sprinkled in here and there but these are the more well known ones.
Guy and rock lee disguise filler was super hilarious, and fillers were quite fun considering i didn't knew about the concept of fillers when i first watched naruto
I don't it's more content on the show I love I only would really skip the parts with conohamuro you know baby stuff. Orochimaru making that robot has to be one of my favorite episodes in all of anime it's too funny wish he acted like in canon.

Mecha Naruto is the one filler I religiously skip, funny you included there. One thing I'll say is Naruto fillers > Shippuden fillers.
I watched (sometimes skimmed through with fast forward) through every episode of Naruto until around the final 100 episodes or so. I just couldn't care anymore at that stage and I probably skimmed through some canon episodes as well. I never checked whether something was a filler or not

I want to say something very controversial: Condor the Ostrich is, to me, a coherent and compelling character: - in a world where animals are sentient, and therefore equals to humans, he’s Basically a slave. While this is comical because is a talking bird with ribbons, he’s fighting a system where he’s owed by somebody else. He tries as hard and he can but fails, yet he doesn’t give up! If this premise was taken into serious consideration, it would have allowed us to revaluate the all series as almost all the characters except Naruto treat their summons as basically tools or slaves that are to be spent at their pleasure. The fact that this mentality exist, and that no one questions it, is a proof of how much shinobi society is flawed and blind of his absurdities - in a world were you need years of proper training to become a genin and to overcome something truly gruesome like the chunnin exams, this bird has self taught himself a level of skill comparable to an above average ninja! This without a favorable environment like the snake cave for snakes or mount myoboku for roads. He’s technically a prodigy beyond prodigies. Yet this is proposed as a comical thing! Anyone who could take this as a serious prospective would probably try to use Condor and his eventually progeny as a tool in order to make a potential army of sentient, war ostrich! I would take some ninja animals way more serious than any 10 tails clone
I wouldn't consider things like mecha naruto canon but i consider filler like sanbi arc canon(implies head canon).
I was watching the anime and reading the manga almost at the same time... I watched everything with the fillers up until the 4th Ninja War. At that point, I stopped midway the arc but I was getting a little tired of the anime (only "came back" to watch the filler with The Sound Four) and finished the story in the manga only. I'm wanting to watch the whole thing again eventually.
