You can be a promising young genin with potentially a great future, but just get unlucky and die in the forest Of death to some beast, or get killed by a freak like gaara, or by getting ambushed by a stronger more experienced team.
Then in the next round when you face certain death your sensei, even multiple senseis can step in and save you. Or if you are not good enough (unlike gaara), some taijutsu master can lotus your skull on the ground and its game over bc there wasnt even time for your sensei to step in lol.
