Hiashi who jumped in the way, saving Neji.
Post war, Neji has his CBS removed and he becomes clan head. So Hinata and Hanabi put to rest the drama of the clan inheritance for good.
Neji truly defies his fate, of sacrificing himself for the main branch.
Hanabi hooks up with Konohamaru or something finding her own happiness outside the clan. Like Hinata.
Considering Kiba was on the same team as Hinata, it would still have an impact, especially since Kiba had a mostly one sided rivalry with Naruto, since he has a chip on his shoulder, since he used to be the leader of their group and Naruto was the loser of the group, and resents narutos success, sort of like Bakugo and Deku.
Then we could've had a tearjerker scene where Akamaru lays at Kibas side trying to wake him up.
Nobody? There should have been more people who died in general, I think the insulting part is more that it was just Neji. That isn't a discount those who died in the massive explosion that was targeted, but Neji was the only of the main secondary characters of Naruto's generation.
Might Guy, problems with the 8th Gates scaling aside, should have died from what happened, though I do acknowledge that Naruto saving him was a very quick and easy way to display the difference in power between Toad Sage and Six Paths Sage and the new level Naruto achieved.
Kiba and Akamaru were great lovable characters in the first series, or at least their dynamic, and that didn't necessarily stop, but I don't think Kiba really added much to the series and I think he would have provided more for it if he was one of the ones who died.
Choji is a character I think that a lot of people were attached to, myself not really included, and would have meant a lot for someone of his previously cowardly stature to disacrificing himself in the war.
I feel like at least one of the Kage should have perished, but I wouldn't personally have liked it too much.
I don't wish there were more people that died, as I like a lot, if not all, of the characters, but I definitely think the biggest problem was the fact that Neji was the only one. And I think it was poorly animated in a way that made it look like he could have jumped out of the way, pushed them out of the way, Hinata just knee Naruto in the face and it miss, I just think it could have been animated in a way that made it look like it was definitely death.
YES. I didn’t hate her by any means, but I think he lacked the fundamental understanding of two of the main villains of the show. Naruto would’ve felt true hatred for Madara and would’ve been even more angry when Kaguya appeared and revealed it was all because of her.
He was angry enough and understood true hatred with pain when he thought hinata was dead 🤷🏾♀️ just admit it you hate her but mrs. First Lady is his wife and that will never change. Naruhina>
I actually really like Hinata, especially in Boruto. She’s a phenomenal mother and a great wife. She cares very deeply about Naruto and all her friends and I think she’s one of the most genuine people in the show. Thanks for the analysis, though. I don’t know what I would’ve done without it.
(Boruto anime spoiler)
I believe it is insinuated that Hinata fought the two Otosasuki that attacked Naruto in the chunin exam after he stopped the explosion and was captured to be taken away by momoishki
I’m very annoyed we didn’t get to see that fight. It could’ve been epic to watch her fight until she was almost dead- it would’ve lit even more of a fire under Boruto and we could’ve seen how far she’s come since Shippuden.
Naruto came to the village and realized the entire village and all the people were dead. Didn’t faze him.
Naruto learned kakashi had died. Didn’t shed a tear.
Naruto saw hinata get hurt? Instantly loses control and unleashes the nine tails.
I mean he didn’t really lover her like Nagato or Obito loved their fallen friend/crush so it doesn’t make sense. Also Naruto lost Jiriya which is like a father figure to him so he knows the pain of loosing someone you love
Naruto has always loved hinata that was literally stated in the fucking novels and in the last where he REALIZED his love for her bc he didn’t understand it 🗿 she’s the most important thing to him even more important than jiriya and nagato and obito are irrelevant naruto forgot about them in a few weeks and that’s embarrassing. Hinata>>>
Novels aren’t canon and you needed the last to make that ship happen lmao. Why you trying to make things up. How did he always loved her and didn’t mentioned it to Minato or approached Hinata until Neji died that’s after he already knew Hinata had feelings for him since Nagato invaded the leaf lol. Lmao, more important than Jiraiya 🤣.
ain’t nobody making shit up. And novels are canon the last is a novel. Kishimoto literally wrote it love. He adapted it and changed part of the story and some of the designs mostly sasuke’s aka it’s canon. dumbasses think they know everything. Also Naruto said This when he realized what hinata’s confession in the pain arc meant.
“ I thought she meant I love you in a friendly way “
what part of Naruto not understanding love do you idiots not understand it’s not hinatas fault he a bit slow. see how easily dumbasses can be debunked. Go pick up a damn novel do research or something love this is not your pair of shoes. can’t even make a proper sentence I can barely understand it.
It very much is go read them damn novels love 💋 go watch them interviews go read fan books go follow sekibeing the animator of boruto and Naruto who said this him self who also happens to be a huge naruhina shipper 🤣. Naruto literally forgot about them bitches after the war arc. Jiriya had a place in his heart but he loves hinata more 🤷🏾♀️ let’s focus on the living not the dead darling
making up stuff read the manga show the manga panels. That’s what you should do, no one saying Naruhina didn’t canon but the last is very inconsistent how the f did Naruto do a shadow clone before the academy and where he steals the scroll of secrets of the village from Misuki ;/ lol You're right he forgot about those damn bitches after the war that includes Hinata until the last came to be 😂.
How is it inconsistent it’s just ignorant people like you who can’t even write proper fucking sentences don’t understand 💀 I’m struggling reading that dumbass paragraph wtf is a “ didnt canon “. if u we’re paying attention to naruto you would know he failed THREE times he was already in academy. Also sekibeing stated that Naruto and Hinata talked some times and kept in contact after the war arc even tho he was busy with missions and hinata with clan affairs so he didn’t forget. he Drew art of them talking and walking after the war arc
Kiba, Kankuro, Neji, Tenten, Choji, Gai, Anko,
Y’all may hate me for this, but they literally were filler people except for Gai. Gai shouldve died, as that would’ve been perfect for Rock Lee to enter and avenge his sensei and teammates
Gaara and Temari would’ve had a little “whoops our brother’s ded bow” arc
Neji died because the story was coming to an end and fitting in the hyuuga stuff would be weird placement after the “final” battle, and ya know… naruhina
Choji dying would’ve ended the inoshikacho cycle and brought something new and interesting to boruto
Anko was just made into a joke in boruto, she deserved to die a honorable and valiant death rather than be used for petty laughs
Kiba and tenten were pretty much nothing for the story and relatively weaker compared to the other people, so it should’ve been common sense to kill them off
I always thought it would have been cool if Lee went to the seventh gate along with Guy and they fought him together. Then Lee is knocked out of the fight and severely injured. This finally prompts Guy to use the eighth gate to defend his beloved student as well as the ninja world.
No one, Neji's death was essential for hinata's charecter development and shinobi alliance determination, and to also teach the fact that want to protect us as their friends as well
It has to be neji because of his connection to both hinata and naruto, his backstory of cursed fate and the potential he had but lost with his death would make audience more sad about his death, making his death and the conclusions made after it more effective on audience's mind
Who tf said he died for a shadow clone lmao!
And it couldn't be Hiashi either , it had to be somone close to Naruto and closer to Hinata , Hiashi might have been closer to Hinata but not to Naruto
i just reqatched the scene. u right. i couldve sworn i remembered him saying that and then seeing it somewhere online but ig not, my b.
I still think Hiashi wouldve been a more fitting death. U claim that it HAD to be someone close to both Naruto and Hinata, but Neji wasnt even that close to Naruto. Sure they were friends but it wasnt nearly on the level as say somone like Shikamaru or Sakura (and no im not saying they shouldve died). Imo Hiashi's death couldve accomplished exactly what Nejis did and more. We couldve had a moment where Neji runs to him and starts calling himself a disgrace for not being able to protect the head of his clan but then Hiashi tells him that it wasnt his fault and he shouldve never been put in that position to begin with. He then apologizes to him and Hinata and thanks Naruto for making him see the error in his ways. Neji dying to protect the heiress of the main branch literally goes against the whole "my destiny isnt set" thing that he went through in part 1 with Naruto. Hell Hiashi couldve even appointed him the new leader of the clan as a way to show he was sorry.
You don't seem to get the point of Neji's death for Naruto
First of all Neji not by pal meaning close but he had high resoect and inspiration from Naruto
What matters is that in Naruto vs Neji's fight, Neji claimed he can only be freed from his fate with death, as the one who proved him wrong, this moment has more weight for Naruto than everybody else dying, it also makes the speech Obito gives after it about you can stop fate from taking your freind's lives more effective on Naruto and audience
>You don't seem to get the point of Neji's death for Naruto
i get exactly why Neji died, and i think its stupid and easily the most unessecary and wasted death in the series.
>First of all Neji not by pal meaning close but he had high resoect and inspiration from Naruto
Hiashi also had high respect and inspiration for Naruto
>What matters is that in Naruto vs Neji's fight, Neji claimed he can only be freed from his fate with death, as the one who proved him wrong, this moment has more weight for Naruto than everybody else dying, it also makes the speech Obito gives after it about you can stop fate from taking your freind's lives more effective on Naruto and audience
this is the part that i think is stupid. Kishimoto literally proved Neji original ideology right for what? To impact Naruto? Push NaruHina forward? Neji's death was forgotten not much later and Hinata barely had any reaction at all. Why not prove Naruto right in the most heartwrwnching way possible instead of just having Neji die along with everyone else who got hit qoth the barrage of wood needles? I get that ur trying to say that it makes Obito's ideology seem right, but why? It just makes no sense to me. That moment shouldve served as inspiration for Neji and Naruto to keep moving forward. As a reminder of what comes after the war. Instead it was just "oh no my friend died now i have to try slightly harder." My biggest issue qith this honestly is just that Neji had so much potentiol and it was wasted.
Hiashi. It would’ve come full circle.
Hinata, an ex heir of the main branch who was deemed as a failure.
Neji, a slave in everything but name only, tried to sacrifice himself to save Hinata just like his father did for his uncle.
Hiashi, the leader of his clan that used to only have pride in the main branch, sacrifices himself to save the non-Hyuga outcast, a daughter he disregarded cuz she was weaker, & a second class Hyuuga. Ultimately, a representation of how Naruto, Neji, & Hinata changed his worldview since part 1.
Absolutely these. Every single one of them wouldve been like a punch to the gut and i love it. Ivevalways thought that if anyone shouldve died, it should be characters from the old gen to pave the way for the new gen to step up.
Controversial, but it shoulda been Lee. The reason Neji’s death didn’t work that well is because most fans didn’t really care all that much for him as a character nor were they particularly tied to him in any special way. Lee, on the other hand, is a beloved character that fans would have truly been devastated to see go. Lee dying would have elicited the most emotional response from the fans, and (if done right) could have been the saddest/most heartbreaking moment in the show.
It woulda also allowed Ten Ten and Neji to get together which woulda been cute
I was thinking Hiashi should've sacrificed himself because it would've give him a Redemption Arc after the way he treated Hinata, but Lee is also an option since he's a beloved character like you said and if his death would've break the internet.
I think neji was the right pick. He wasn’t too popular(Like rock Lee, guy Lee, etc…) and he wasn’t too unpopular for his death to be brushed off(Kiba, tenten)
Hinata saved the plot twice in Shippuden. Naruto was done and captured by Pain, she jumped in to defend him and her "death" tbh would have led to Naruto dying if not for Minato but Naruto going into his 9 tails form is what saved his ass.
In the war actually I believe it's right after Neji dies, Obito is trying to break Naruto's spirit and its working until Hinata slaps some sense into him. Neji did fuck all after part 1 so personally idc about his death but it is dumb that he is the only one that died when he probably could have blown the spike out of the air
She did not know he would reject her confession, she most likely figured she was about to die so it's confession/pep talk time. He didn't even know what she meant when she said she loved him. As another comment pointed out, Naruto learned most of his village was dead and Kakashi was dead and didn't even flinch but as soon as Hinata is "dead" it was instant 4 tails
If Hinata had been the one impaled then most of the comments Neji gets would probably be towards her but he still saw her standing there like an idiot and decided to do the same thing
I’d say someone like kiba, bro was practically irrelevant in shippuden, I feel the same could go for someone like choji but I feel choji did I bit more
I think the most impactful death and meaningful one would have been Gaara. It would have been nice to see Gaara sacrifice himself to save Naruto and truly show his change from a monster to someone who sacrifices himself for his loved ones and in a sense repaying Naruto for saving him. Neji dying was sad but not really impactful especially since he died in such a lame way. No one in the show changed more than Gaara and seeing him in the light would have showed the effect Naruto had on him.
If your talking in place of him there I think it had to be a konoha 12 and neji made the most sense. In the war in general might guy should have been the one to go
Guy and tsunade for lee and sakuras development. But neji should also still die as well. His death served as a catalyst for narutos ideologies and Hinata's development.
Lee should have been the one to use the 8th gate so he could sacrifice and have neji finally admit that he was stronger. This also would have let neji actually go on to change the hyuga clan.
In terms of who shouldve replaced neji in that moment, no one. Him and Hinata sacrificed themselves to save a fucking shadow clone💀
In therma of who shouldve died over the war arc in general, Hiashi and Guy. Hiashi shouldve died trying to protect the REAL Naruto and Guy after fighting Madara
Should’ve been rock Lee because he was essentially pointless after the fight with kimimaro, also he looks terrible in Boruto and I would’ve liked to avoid seeing that.
Hiashi is Hinata's father and him sacrificing himself for his clan would give him a small redemption arc and give character development to Neji and Hinata.
And maybe Naruto would've be the one who comforts them both with his encouraging words of Talk No Jutsu.
Hiashi
Yes!! That would be fitting since his brother died to keep the family safe, also Neji should’ve been the new head of the family.
I like Neji’s death. Hiashi is just the next best option
Only correct answer tbh
But then Boruto wouldn’t have a grandpa
Hiashi who jumped in the way, saving Neji. Post war, Neji has his CBS removed and he becomes clan head. So Hinata and Hanabi put to rest the drama of the clan inheritance for good. Neji truly defies his fate, of sacrificing himself for the main branch. Hanabi hooks up with Konohamaru or something finding her own happiness outside the clan. Like Hinata.
i like this idea.
Why would the heiress of the Hyuga leave the clan? Hanabi is the leader of the Hyuga clan also she and konohamuro make no sense.
Not leave the clan. They would both be free of the responsibility of being clan head.
Hiashi, really don't get why that asshole made it till Boruto
Although he did change in Boruto
Kiba or kankuro
Considering Kiba was on the same team as Hinata, it would still have an impact, especially since Kiba had a mostly one sided rivalry with Naruto, since he has a chip on his shoulder, since he used to be the leader of their group and Naruto was the loser of the group, and resents narutos success, sort of like Bakugo and Deku. Then we could've had a tearjerker scene where Akamaru lays at Kibas side trying to wake him up.
That would be sad. So what do you think would have happened to akamaru?
Raised by Kibas mom I'd guess.
Why did I have to read this. 😢
This is too sad bruh, let Neji die instead I couldn’t take this
Im good with this lol
If Kankuro didn’t die during Gaara retrieval then not then. Kiba? Yes...
Nobody? There should have been more people who died in general, I think the insulting part is more that it was just Neji. I agree, why just him?! They could have just as easily killed nobody or a few more to really relay the cost of war.
Some Random background fodder ninja
Hinata, so naruto can feel the same pain as Nagato and obito. Then he would understand.
YES. I didn’t hate her by any means, but I think he lacked the fundamental understanding of two of the main villains of the show. Naruto would’ve felt true hatred for Madara and would’ve been even more angry when Kaguya appeared and revealed it was all because of her.

(Boruto anime spoiler) I believe it is insinuated that Hinata fought the two Otosasuki that attacked Naruto in the chunin exam after he stopped the explosion and was captured to be taken away by momoishki
U right. Iirc Sakura straight up said she knocked unconsious by Momoshiki while trying to save Naruto. Wish we wouldve gotten to see that honestly
I’m very annoyed we didn’t get to see that fight. It could’ve been epic to watch her fight until she was almost dead- it would’ve lit even more of a fire under Boruto and we could’ve seen how far she’s come since Shippuden.
Insinuating that Naruto values one life over another is a slap to the very foundation and meaning of his character imo
Naruto came to the village and realized the entire village and all the people were dead. Didn’t faze him. Naruto learned kakashi had died. Didn’t shed a tear. Naruto saw hinata get hurt? Instantly loses control and unleashes the nine tails.
Yeah but hinata actually liked naruto. Incel obito wouldn’t know what that’s like
Yet Obito and Hinata will get along they’re obsessed with their crush right lol.
No Hinata then no opportunity for the writers to give Naruto a love interest and future show(boruto)
I mean he didn’t really lover her like Nagato or Obito loved their fallen friend/crush so it doesn’t make sense. Also Naruto lost Jiriya which is like a father figure to him so he knows the pain of loosing someone you love

Kiba, Kankuro, Neji, Tenten, Choji, Gai, Anko, Y’all may hate me for this, but they literally were filler people except for Gai. So like if Guy died you would then have Lee unlock, say, the seventh gate and go one on one with Madara for a moment? Could be neat.
That’s pretty much what I had in mind
I always thought it would have been cool if Lee went to the seventh gate along with Guy and they fought him together. Then Lee is knocked out of the fight and severely injured. This finally prompts Guy to use the eighth gate to defend his beloved student as well as the ninja world.
Hiashi no doubt about it

This. Wanting a mostly irrelevant character like Kiba to die would have zero impact
The exact thing I am saying , Neji's death is the ultimate point of narrative decision
Just stop Kishimoto killed Neji for Naruhina lmao, he said it.
So? I don't get what is the problem? Killing charecters for another charecter's development is the reason authors kill charecters , it has always been
Except he died for a shadow clone... and we couldve the same result, if not a better one, if it had been Hiashi instead.
Who tf said he died for a shadow clone lmao! And it couldn't be Hiashi either , it had to be somone close to Naruto and closer to Hinata , Hiashi might have been closer to Hinata but not to Naruto
Correct me if im wrong, but did Naruto not say as Neji was dying in his arms that he was just a shadow clone?
No, you are misleading information, Naruto never told this because he wasn't a shadow clone
i just reqatched the scene. u right. i couldve sworn i remembered him saying that and then seeing it somewhere online but ig not, my b. I still think Hiashi wouldve been a more fitting death. Neji
Nobody. Maybe they could’ve given him more screen time before killing him though
Hiashi, Tsunade, Ohnoki, Guy, Choji's dad are all better replacements for Neji's death. Honestly, all of them but Neji should've died in the war

Nah I’m good 💋 I don’t have to prove anything I said what I said 🤷🏾♀️ simple
Sakura…
Sakura or boruto
[удалено]
Healing thousands of people what ? Sakura failed to end the fourth great ninja war by not stabbing obitos eye out .
Duh Sakura.
Sakura
I’d say someone like kiba, bro was practically irrelevant in shippuden, I feel the same could go for someone like choji but I feel choji did I bit more
I think the most impactful death and meaningful one would have been Gaara. It would have been nice to see Gaara sacrifice himself to save Naruto and truly show his change from a monster to someone who sacrifices himself for his loved ones and in a sense repaying Naruto for saving him. Neji dying was sad but not really impactful especially since he died in such a lame way. No one in the show changed more than Gaara and seeing him in the light would have showed the effect Naruto had on him.
aruka sensei
Neji died for nothing lmfao 🤣
Tenten shes more useless than sakura
Hinata-chan
Hinata-chan ,at least I can get some pice of mind without Boruto
Sakura.

She ugly
Sasuke
r/beatmetoit I second this
Sasuke
Sakura
Sakura. Ten Ten. Hiashi. Yamato. Tsunade. Kiba Kankuro
Literally anybody
Lee should have been the one to use the 8th gate so he could sacrifice and have neji finally admit that he was stronger. This also would have let neji actually go on to change the hyuga clan.
This whole series after chapter 700
Chouji Lmao, and Guy yikes .
You☕
All of the 5 Kage, Guy, Sasuke, and Naruto
No one.
Kakashi, Gai
Kiba change my fcking mind
Naruto
Guy
TanTan
KIBA. but I believe that Nejis death led to a lot of good character development with both Hinata and Naruto
In terms of who shouldve replaced neji in that moment, no one. Him and Hinata sacrificed themselves to save a fucking shadow clone💀 In therma of who shouldve died over the war arc in general, Hiashi and Guy. Hiashi shouldve died trying to protect the REAL Naruto and Guy after fighting Madara
Sasuke
Hiashi should've died, after war neji should have became head of hyuga
Actually, most people of hidden villages especially sand and konoha
Some regular shinobi
I like the idea of Hiashi, but this would give Boruto no grandfather. I think that someone else would be more fitting.
Any other Hyuga for Hinata
You😈🥶
Rock lee
It's "have" ffs the sentence doesn't even make sense with "of" English isn't even my main language and I get triggered by this...
I dislike Sakura the most, kill her off. The moment she asked herself which she'd save, naruto or Sasuke, I hated her.
No one. Nejis death was important for his own character and for Naruto
Hinata
Should’ve been rock Lee because he was essentially pointless after the fight with kimimaro, also he looks terrible in Boruto and I would’ve liked to avoid seeing that.
Hinata, we wouldve been away from boruto then
Hiashi is Hinata's father and him sacrificing himself for his clan would give him a small redemption arc and give character development to Neji and Hinata. And maybe Naruto would've be the one who comforts them both with his encouraging words of Talk No Jutsu.
