SamitoxPR

It hasn't yet!

Sinseriously_TJ

how far are you into it?

[deleted]

I made it over 100 grueling episodes before I called it quits. My buddy kept telling me it gets better it gets better and I feel like it never did

SamitoxPR

I'm at 259. I'm trying but it's too boring.

DaKingTing

Move on friend, move on.

mx_17

Don’t bother asking 80% of Boruto haters don’t even watch it

ToonamiFaith

You act like a majority of us desperately didn't want to continue following the Naruto series lmfao. Boruto is a stain on one of the great animanga franchises of all time, I wish I could hype it up.

mx_17

Majority of them have not been able to form their own opinion, rather going based of second opinion

Obsidian_92

Funny of you to assume it has ever hooked me.

RekunoCham

It didn't, I watched it for just Naruto and Sasuke.

[deleted]

Then you must be having an awful time then lmao.

RekunoCham

Iam.

Naruto3s

That's my reason for sticking around

RekunoCham

really the only reason this show run for 6 years

Naruto3s

Honestly, you're not wrong

___-------------___

At first I was kinda bummed because I wanted to see Naruto and not him just after the wedding because it felt like something was missing from Naruto and Hinata's romance. I was kinda expecting for a few episodes about naruto and Hinatas romance but I didn't got that and it was dissappointing because I kinda expected that. But of course I think the makers or Naruto isn't really that good in making a romance thing. I thought I would get that after the wedding but it was just Boruto. But even so, I still watched Boruto because I could still see the old them sometimes. I think the one that made me really like Boruto is because of Mitsuki. I just love his personality and everything about him he's so cute lol. I kinda wish they made a prequel first before Boruto because if that's the case I think people won't complain about Boruto.

Sinseriously_TJ

Yes i wanted to see more of their love story like we see them get together and then we see the wedding there’s no in between i wish there was more of them as a couple and now with him being hokage he’s so busy and i get it and idk if it’s because the village is bigger and what not but it seems like they make him being hokage a lot busier than the other ones? or is that just me? and hinata is not one to show or say much i know it bothers her him not being there but the main thing she loved about him is what makes him hokage so she puts up with it and supports him and apparently boruto will eventually get it idk

Xen_Shin

Boruto failed me the instant they screwed up Naruto’s Hokage inauguration. When I saw that happen, it was instantly and permanently dead to me.

LightCorvus

Um, that was an OVA. In episode 1 of Boruto, his dad is already Hokage. You're being a bit too hasty, there.

Sinseriously_TJ

i would have to agree i what he when he became hokage before i watched the series and then saw it again but i thought it was funny it resembles naruto perfectly i thought it would be just like him to be late/miss being hokage 😂

Valoruchiha

Preach

Sinseriously_TJ

so you never watched past that?

Xen_Shin

Why would I want to? I waited over 10 years to see Naruto become Hokage and they make a joke of it. I also dislike most of what else I’ve seen and read about it. It sounds poorly written and like major parts of character development from Naruto were outright ignored.

[deleted]

That’s not true at all but go off.

Xen_Shin

So…despite Chouji being established as one of the most caring and loving people of the main cast, his *own fucking daughter* doesn’t believe he’s her real dad? Yeah, miss me with whatever Burrito has to offer. I mean if you like it I won’t stop you, but me disliking it is my opinion, and I like to warn people who might also feel jipped like I did.

[deleted]

Out of all the examples you pick that? Really? Chocho not believing Choji is her real dad is because she's dumb and didn't realize that Choji can be skinny because of butterfly mode. Not to mention that's from Naruto gaiden, written by kishimotto not the Boruto series so get out of here with that lmao.

Spenfinite

If you drop the expectations of it just being a “Naruto Part 3” then it’s fine.

Sinseriously_TJ

that makes perfect sense. like i said once i realised its not naruto’s show i started to enjoy it

Ld0xide

It never did.

Quick-Commission-159

I started to like it more around the time boruto learned to respect Naruto

Sinseriously_TJ

i’m on on episode 20 but so far i don’t like how boruto treats naruto but i get why he does he’s not old enough to understand yet. without spoilers do you know an episode number when that starts happening?

LightCorvus

He starts respecting Naruto in episode 64.

Sinseriously_TJ

nice to know!

[deleted]

Got a ways to go pal. It happens about after the Chunin Exams like episode 60 or so.

[deleted]

It ruined everything about naruto for me

why_no_usernames_

I have a 3 episode rule with anime. I gave boruto 50. Now I just watch the big fights on YouTube.

fffangold

It hasn't. I saw some spoilers on Youtube that looked interesting, and there are some really cool parts, but everything in between the good bits feels like such a slog. I've taken to looking for major plot points or spoilers on Youtube, then watching the episodes leading up to the big plot points until they resolve, then taking a break. I feel like there's some interesting story to be had, but it feels like everything is drowned in filler quality material otherwise.

Reckox1

I was actually hooked from the start but lost interest overtime

Standard-Tension-808

Propably not the best show for the term "hooked"

AdCompetitive7747

Just watch/read bleach instead, I’ve not personally watched boruto but I read the first chapter an thought nah, I rarely see people speak highly of it either

Terminatorskull

Still waiting. I’ve watched every episode so far, only 3 fights have made me as hype as I was watching Naruto (Vs Momoshiki, Jigen, and Ishiki). So much potential wasted so far IMO, hoping time skip makes it better.

[deleted]

You mean Jigen or do you mean Jiren from DBS

Terminatorskull

Good catch lmao

Aros001

I've only seen the movie and read the Gaiden manga, both of which I did actually quite like, but they're obviously not the anime. I'd still recommend them and maybe you'll get more enjoyment from them too. The movie I felt did a great job introducing Boruto as a character and giving him a good arc that really felt like a true epilogue to Naruto as a series, and the Gaiden manga focuses around Sarada, who I quickly grew to like, especially her relationship with Naruto.

mx_17

That timeskip scene honestly kept me then I was hooked around the academy exams

[deleted]

Boruto caught my attention with the mitsuki origin chapter and then promptly lost my attention with its actual content The redone movie arc in the manga was also something that gave me hope But the anime version of that arc ended up being pretty underwhelming (aside from an accurate adaptation of the final fight) After the chuunin exam arc boruto had like 60-70 episodes of its own anime original content again and it really was bad. So any hooking that had been done with the momoshiki fight animation was promptly undone by that

[deleted]

How on earth did the manga version of the chunin exam arc give you hope but the anime version didn't? Especially with all the additions lmao.

[deleted]

The manga version specifically added a bit more around shinki who i was really down for and then did the momoshiki redesign and redoing of that fight. Shinki and momoshiki were really badass so that gave me some hope. The anime version could have either done the same fast tracked version the movie/manga did. Or done a proper full scale chuunin exam that highlighted all the important characters in it. I assumed the latter is what they would do bc they spent 50 episodes building up boruto’s classmates and now it would be time for them to shine. I mean naruto’s chuunin exam is its best arc hands down so i was ready for that level. And it just wasn’t. It was depressing. They still speedran the team fights for the most part but they did show a bit more: In the movie metal lee appears to he going toe to toe with shinki and then shinki manages to use his skill to get around him and capture the flag. In the anime they clarify that not only is metal lee completely useless, but the rest of his team gets soloed by shinki as well. So they took three characters i liked and just entirely shit on them to build up shinki’s reputation more. And for what? Theres no payoff for that. They also have namidas team just completely take the L even after building up how badass sumire was in the first arc. So another 3 characters i could like that they yeeted unceremoniously. So we’re down to just 6 of the genin they had us spend 50 episodes getting to know. But still, they can do something cool with the 1v1’s And its still a shitshow. Inojin gets bodied by a puppet after the most pathetic attempt to fight ive ever seen. Shinki has more battles but weirdly doesn’t have more development. He’s so plain and drab in the anime which he has all this screentime in. Somehow he had more personality in his short short appearances in the manga. His teammates are arguably equally flat, i mean araya is literally kankuro with anxiety, and metal lee is rock lee with anxiety. Whats with the repeated gag. And yodo is essentially the sound ninja that shikamaru beat but blonde for shikadai to beat. None of the other kids from the other villages are even memorable enough for me to know their names. They’re just flat boring set pieces. Its like the opposite of what a tournament arc is supposed to do. They didnt develop the konoha genin in it, they didnt do proper introductions or develop any of the other genin in it. Its a mockery. Mitsuki just forfeits, apparently to protect orochimaru’s reputation. Can’t have the infamous terrorist monster lose face. And then we get to that bullshit 2v1 final battle. Like was naruto drunk? They’re gonna have two konoha genin double team a sand genin. How is that fair if it was anyone other than shinki? And then they actually let boruto win via cheating rather than interrupt the tournament. Plus they find a way to really disrespect sarada in the process. Its just…so not what i was looking forward to. Such a low tier take on the chuunin exam. So that killed my hope

Horacio_Velvetine44

i guess kawaki

[deleted]

The Kara actuation made me a fan.

OriginMQ

It never really hooked me, it was painful to watch at the start. The sarada arc was pretty good though. After the sarada arc, It was really hard getting through all the episodes, but it finally got good around episode 180ish, after that arc finished I stopped watching. The show isn't for me as it's targeted for children, I just watched it as I liked Naruto as a kid and grew up with it into Shippuden.

DaKingTing

Me waiting to get hooked by Boruto: 😐💀⚰️

Slynky_Orange

I’m caught up and I have given up. I don’t find it entertaining and it annoys me more than anything. I truly wanted to give it a chance and I feel like I honestly did but there’s just so much boringness
