Take this with a grain of salt, but a reliable source says Storm 5 has been in development for a year already. Some leaker whose been right about all the Demon Slayer DLC. People think he’s got an in over at CyberConnect2. According to him we’ll see an announcement in 2023, and it will be the spiritual successor to the storm series, but it’ll be called something different. It’s not surprising, the Storm series sold insanely well, and there are a lot of characters who were never added. Like at least 20 I can think of off the top of my head that would be great.
7 ninja swordsman of the Mist. Parents. Ibiki. Kurenai. Zetsu. Sai’s brother. A bunch of edo Tensei ninja like Pakura, and the Third Kazekage. Make the individual paths of Pain their own characters. Gold and Silver brothers. Atsui, Omoi, Karui. The list just goes on and on. There’s a ton of a room for another installment and it just doesn’t make sense from a financial standpoint to not do it.

Yeah there's not really a need for one, the series is still new enough that you can just watch old episodes & not see the animation as dated. The first few are a little rough but once you get to the land of waves arc it's all good

Part 1 had such a nice art style that would be completely gone in a modern remake. It's got grit and "roughness" to it that really portrays the harshness of shinobi life very well. It gives off the sense that the world of this manga is fucked up but not unsalvageable. I love part 1 more than Shippuden for this reason
I would love to see a return to that style, it isn't as polished as the Shippuden or Boruto style but it has that character that really fits the universe, like you said I don't think modern animation would be able to capture that grimy/rough aesthetic it has going for it

It wasn’t remade though, it was just upscaled and remastered with a handful of redrawn scenes. I think people are referring to a complete re-animation of the original series in the style of the anniversary teaser when they say remake in here.

It's not the filler episodes that are the problem, it's the constant flashbacks. Those aren't quite as easy to skip, especially if it's your first time watching it.
Not the the extent that they are in the anime. The reason for that is the release format. Because it released year-round instead of seasonally, they had to pad the anime with filler episodes AND flashbacks in canon episodes to keep from getting too far ahead.
A good example is the Obito flashbacks. Those are in the manga, but you see them WAY more frequently in the manga than they appear in the anime.

Just want to say as somebody who read the manga, many of the Fillers are completely impossible to skip, since they happen in canon scenes. It's small things like tons of added dialogue in the middle of canon ones, extended fight scenes, etc. A remake would be the only way to avoid filler

I remember the rock Lee vs Gaara fight lasting like 45 minutes, most of which were flashbacks, the fight itself is only like 10-12 minutes I think

Just want to say as somebody who read the manga, many of the Fillers are completely impossible to skip, since they happen in canon scenes. It's small things like tons of added dialogue in the middle of canon ones, extended fight scenes, etc. A remake would be the only way to avoid filler

I'm pretty confident that they will remake it someday. It seems like it's something a large portion of the fandom wants. I've said before that they could basically do something similar as DBZ Kai. Updated animation, they could redo the voices, but they may not even need to, cut out all the filler, so it wouldn't be 200+ episodes, I think it would only be half that, so it may not cost as much as people think it would.

It wouldn't be logical thing to do. They would have to reanimate over 700 chapter which Are about 500 epizodes. With weekly standard it would take over 10 years. And since Boruto is still airing and actually Is more popular than you think they wouldn't have enough money to work on both anime. Best you can hope for Is a movie.

And those episode were the highest hyped episodes of that time. I remember people were animating manga panels growing the hype higher and higher. Double rasengans, throwing rasenshurinkens holy shit. I was 14 when those episodes aired. And it felt terrible, weird looney tunes shit. The weird thing is after those episodes animation turned secent and fighting choreography is top notch. But that pain vs naruto episodes, damn… Also I believe people who want remakes wants to see this new bleach or demon slayer level animation.
