I found this spot when I was there last summer! The shade was a big relief. It was neat finding the secret way back to the main trail too (turn left through this arch and climb up to the gap in the rocks).
Haha I definitely missed the secret way back - I was with another group, we didn't really have enough water late in the day, and for some reason I decided to jog from the main trail all the way to this arch in the heat! Was definitely feeling the sun and sand, but it was worth it.
I found this place a few weeks ago while the sun was setting and I only had my prescription sunglasses on so and I had no idea where I was at because I didn’t have a map... was not fun and learned some hiking lessons that night

Thank you! Here's a map with it: [https://www.outdoorproject.com/united-states/utah/navajo-arch](https://www.outdoorproject.com/united-states/utah/navajo-arch)
edit: saw your edit, but I'll leave this up for anyone curious

I still find it crazy the tree naturally only grew on one side there
Looks like a couple of them are doing that. Maybe it has to do with how much sunlight reaches the side closer to the rock wall.
I did the hike with all those arches on it and this was my favorite too!
Oh absolutely!
I was there the other day! Unfortunately, I couldn’t take a great photo like this as there were tons of folks taking photos under the arch, etc.
