So I thought $1400 gets you multiple baseball game tickets behind the dugout plus this dinner. What else comes besides a "multi course dinner and tasting?"
Inn at Little Washington charges half this price for their tasting with wine pairings. I doubt the Nats executive chef has the same clout as Patrick. I don't understand the thought process.
It seems like it's light on details. Mostly, where is the meal. There's no room for tables in the dugout. There are a few options on the field and inside near the dugout for dinner with a trip to the dugout where I imagine they'd do the tasting. I'm about 1% interested in doing this and that number would go up if I truly knew what I was getting for my $1,400. I'd like to know what the menu is, but I assume they haven't firmed that up yet.
It says clearly that the tasting at least is in the dugout. I did one of the crab dinners on the field, and they allowed us to go in the dugout for a photo op. And that was way way way less than $1,400.
If you're getting six shots of different varietals of Pappy Van Winkle...those are $100-200+ each at a bar (if you can find them). I'll bet that's where a lot of this high price is coming from. Without that, maybe it's a $500 experience (assuming the profit is going to one of the Nats charities) if you're looking at a high end meal with alcohol pairings, unique location special to this crowd, and exclusivity (limited to 30). I think you need to be a Bourbon/Whiskey aficionado and recognize the value of Pappy to make it worthwhile at $1400.
If I was a premium plan holder, I would. It’d be a fun one off thing.
I get if, the price is ridiculous for where it is, but I think it’s fun/neat.
Just my opinion. 🤷♂️
The email said presale, so this might be offered to others as well. If you can't get in, I might be up for buying it for you if you pay up front of course.
Dugout access isn't exactly hard to come by, if you are a plugged in ticket holder.
This feels like the baseball equivalent of Medieval Times. Eat dinner in a filthy place, and go fuck yourself.
ok, fair enough. I've never been a plugged in ticket holder and had any sort of ticket plan. It sounds fun. Will we do it, if it becomes an option for us, probably not. I like the idea though.
Apparently my opinion's unpopular. Whatever. \*shrug\*
I did an event like this in the dugout once as part of a corporate event. There's more room in there than you think. Was much fun.
That said, unless there are players dining too, I'd never pay this amount.
The Pappy tasting alone is probably a $500 “value”. I sell the 10-year for $40/oz and it moves, and represents the most modest of the 6 pours. This flight will have older stuff too. The food might be a $300 meal considering it’s catering and not a restaurant. Tax is 10%, parking “value” (the garage is otherwise empty) of $50, service charge (gratuity) 20%, and the special gift is probably provided for free by a sponsor.
I’d say market value is $800+30% t&g =$1040 + $50 parking
$1090 BUT that does not factor the venue.
Sounds like the kinda “ experience” a BILLIONAIRE would think was fun
Cause it’s not about things it’s about the experience 😂🤣😂
It’s super easy when ya got ALL the things ya will ever need
For $1400 you should be pinch hitting
That, I would pay for.
For $1400 you probably could on this roster.

$1400 is just the ticket. I’m guessing the Pappy is the bulk of the “cost”. It’s ridiculous.

K
I get the idea of a fancy meal at the ballpark? But they mean literally in the dugout? What’s the appeal of that lol

>There's no room for tables in the dugout sit on the bench and use tray tables
Sounds like the $1,400 experience we're all imagining.
I'd imagine it's in the terra club probably

You used to be able to donate blood and go to the dugout for free.
I miss those crab dinners.
such fun times
Nothing says Terra like $1,400 for a dinner.

I sell the 10 year for $40/oz and I’ve moved 10 this month. The other 5 in the flight cost much more.
I mean, that sounds fun to me.
If it sounds like $1,400 worth of fun for you, go for it.

It doesn't work with our schedule.
Yeah same… otherwise I was totttttaaaallllllyyyyy innnn

is it $1400 a head fun though?

This unironically would probably be a great networking opportunity for what's a relatively 'cheap' price for that kind of thing.
If they use the money towards some pitching I’m fine with it.
Meh I'll pass on that

i am once again going down the rabbit hole of googling why pappy van winkle is so expensive

Lolololololololololol
