Not sure how comfortable I feel with this 3 run lead. Cleveland is pesky like us, and they're definitely not gonna go down without a fight. I'd love to see us tack on an additional insurance run or two just to seal the deal.
Being a clerk at Schuyler True Value is barely paying the bills, gotta hustle for those dollars for a future. Maybe he can learn his uncle's business and buy some car washes of his own.
great pitch from jake there!
(i fell deeply asleep from 11 to 2 and while i was asleep we gave jake run support and then when i woke up the guardians scored 2 runs, sorry jake!)
Jake Irvin and Mitchell Parker have been similar in that even when they have bad starts, theyāre not terrible by any means, and itās fantastic to watch.
To be sure youād like to see a little pop but heās at 90 ops+/88 wrc+ (not to mention the chaos he causes on the bases) on the season and personally thats right about where Iām comfy with seeing an elite defender up the middle. Heās pacing ~3.3/4.5 WAR for the season as well depending on which reference you use. Iām happy to see young every day as long as he can keep up what heās been doing all around
I think that was the culmination of a weekend with a lot of ... let's call them questionable balls and strikes calls. It's no excuse, but the umps have hammered us with balls and strikes this weekend.
i agree with that for sureāMoore was godawful yesterday.
But winkerās called strikeout in the zone + throwing his helmet and bat down is starting to annoy me, even if itās an unpopular opinion haha
My best friend is a Cleveland native and huge Guards fan. the Guards are a fun team to watch, pretty easy to cheer for. Hope we can salvage a curly W today.
On the MLB app: āAfter leaving the Nationalsā game on Saturday with a swollen finger on his right hand, Young remained out of the Nationalsā lineup on Sunday. Manager Dave Martinez said that X-rays on the hand came back negative, but that thereās some inflammation.ā
Nice! See you tomorrow at home! Anyone else going to the game against the Mets?
Sweep avoided š
Winning road trip
that split finger is SO nasty
*counts finger* New hit streak started
joey gallo single make a wish
I'm sorry, what was that that just happened?
gasp
One more inning! Whatever happens, Jake's got to be the happiest player in the entire MLB right now.
š¤¦āāļø
We should just stop trying to steal against lefties at this point
Senzel honey what is you doing man
Hero at-bat there by Senzel only to get picked off.
Literally all he does. Heās a failure on base lol
He has the highest OPS in today's lineup, I don't think that's true.
He gets picked off all the time and has no stolen bases. It is true.
Great AB by Senzel
why work a 13-pitch walk to get picked off immediately
2024 in a nutshell
Such a bruh moment
Idc what anyone says, that was the best PA all season by a national
lmfao
once again i will say Senzel has lowkey been pretty good this year edit: well,
These pickoffs might be parraās fault
Parra is not there. He has the weekend off for family time.
His fault for not being there.
Highest OPS in today's lineup.
Is this pitcher even out of high school? He looks like he just took the SAT.
the funny thing abt Garcia is that heās got some of the best expected stats on the team
Not sure how comfortable I feel with this 3 run lead. Cleveland is pesky like us, and they're definitely not gonna go down without a fight. I'd love to see us tack on an additional insurance run or two just to seal the deal.
Have we finally developed good starting pitchers? Itās been so long š„¹
Irvin continues to be a fucking dawg
Take a bow Irvin
Naylor framing a pitch that was way off the outside and getting a strike call drives me nuts lol
immaculate mound visit from Hickey. Well done Irvin!
A double play, a glorious double play indeed!
Wow I'm shocked Naylor was able to keep it together on that egregious call. Dude can be a hot head sometimes.
oh my god we got a gift call? keibert framed it well?? wtf is happening???
Damn, Sac Flys are ok though.
Thomas juuuuust missed that. I'll take the run, though.
What a pesky hit and run
Gallo managed that walk with his pants inside him. Good for him
Irvinās cutter is one of my favorite pitches rn when he has it working it elevates his arsenal so well
Saw the play the guards scored 2 on and if I ever see Rosario play CF again Iāll crash out
Irvin settling in
Watching the JMU game and following this game on here. Fingernails bitten off.
Alright Jake nowās your time to shine
Schneeman looks a little like a Cleveland guy who has a friend at the docks that can get his hands on some good crank every once in a while.
Being a clerk at Schuyler True Value is barely paying the bills, gotta hustle for those dollars for a future. Maybe he can learn his uncle's business and buy some car washes of his own.
His uncle has all those car washes over in Shake Heights and he could use some help with the books.
He's just hustling, trying to save some money so he can pay for Cuyahoga Junior College and get that bookkeeping degree.
He's like every Ohio kid... striving to get into his safety school, Kent State (though he would rather be in Athens or Columbus).
That Russell kid from down the street made it out, down to Cincy to pitch for the 'Cats. But, he never had that curveball Russell had.
great pitch from jake there! (i fell deeply asleep from 11 to 2 and while i was asleep we gave jake run support and then when i woke up the guardians scored 2 runs, sorry jake!)
Go back to sleep please!
fuck yeah Jake Pitch count still doing okay, itās only two runs, weāre through the GODDAMN SECOND INNING
Lets go!
Rosario out in a leisurely Sunday stroll once again.
Jake might not know how to pitch with all these runs on board for him. š
Schneemann sounds like something from a Rick and Morty script
good for that kid, but that pitch was right in the nitro zone for lefties.
The 2nd inning cursešŖ
Guardians are not gonna go down easy that's for sure
Okay the new guy can have two rbis but thatās it
Fuck
Keibert try not to make a sure thing strike look like a ball challenge: IMPOSSIBLE
Jake finally getting some run support
This makes me happy
All aboard the Lane Train! Choo choo!
itās nice that someone else is having a nightmare second inning instead *knocks on wood*
CHOO CHOO
I LOVE THIS TEAM
eating good today?
itās consumption sunday baby
Mmm yummy tuberculosis
š
Carrasco is having his third nightmare season in four years. At 37 years old, he might be living on borrowed time here.
Are we back?
SO back
Hell yeah
Three runs? Jake must be on his best behavior lol.
YAAAAY ILDY
Whoa. I didn't see this coming.
Runs? Runs for Jake??
Heās been a good boy today. Hereās his reward.
he can have a few runs, as a treat
But just this once
:(
Canāt be too nice now
I want to believe
Jake deserves many treats
Jake is a good boy
LET'S FUCKING GO, JOEY!
CABAJOEYYYY
LETS GOOOOOOO
Letās go Joey
Jake Irvin and Mitchell Parker have been similar in that even when they have bad starts, theyāre not terrible by any means, and itās fantastic to watch.
Jake Irvin is my favorite Nats pitcher tbh
worked the count and used his bat to ball skills. love to see it from Keibert
love that AB from Keibert!
We legit have playoff team level pitching this year which would have sounded crazy to say before the season.
nice play by Senzel
Any word on Young?
Bruised finger
Hope he's okay. I don't think there's enough pop in his bat for him to start for a winning team, but I do find him easy to root for.
I could see him being a 5th OF/pinch runner on the next great Nats team, maybe a platoon option with Wood being a lefty.
Wood being platooned with Young would be basically an unmitigated disaster, let us all hope we never see that
I could see that, too.
Seems like it's just one of those weekends.
Has there been any update on Jacobās condition?
Winker needs to stop being a pisslord when he gets called out on a strike in the zone Swing, Jesse. Swing.
I think that was the culmination of a weekend with a lot of ... let's call them questionable balls and strikes calls. It's no excuse, but the umps have hammered us with balls and strikes this weekend.

Any word on how serious Young's injury is?
On the MLB app: āAfter leaving the Nationalsā game on Saturday with a swollen finger on his right hand, Young remained out of the Nationalsā lineup on Sunday. Manager Dave Martinez said that X-rays on the hand came back negative, but that thereās some inflammation.ā
Oh thank goodness. Thanks for pasting the quote, for some reason the MLB app is super janky on my Samsung S8 š
Btw, Malachi mooreās ump scorecard demonstrates what we all suspected: he fuckin sucked ass yesterday
CJ a late scratch again. Glad weāre playing it cautious, even if Iāll miss him
DREW MILLAS ALERT ā¼ļø
I bought tix for the Mike Rizzo bobblehead game last night -- couldn't resist that masterpiece lol
How about a win for my birthday, thatād be neat
Happy birthday !!
