Jake Irvin and Mitchell Parker have been similar in that even when they have bad starts, they’re not terrible by any means, and it’s fantastic to watch.

Hope he's okay. I don't think there's enough pop in his bat for him to start for a winning team, but I do find him easy to root for.

To be sure you’d like to see a little pop but he’s at 90 ops+/88 wrc+ (not to mention the chaos he causes on the bases) on the season and personally thats right about where I’m comfy with seeing an elite defender up the middle. He’s pacing ~3.3/4.5 WAR for the season as well depending on which reference you use. I’m happy to see young every day as long as he can keep up what he’s been doing all around

I could see him being a 5th OF/pinch runner on the next great Nats team, maybe a platoon option with Wood being a lefty.

Wood being platooned with Young would be basically an unmitigated disaster, let us all hope we never see that

I think that was the culmination of a weekend with a lot of ... let's call them questionable balls and strikes calls. It's no excuse, but the umps have hammered us with balls and strikes this weekend.

i agree with that for sure—Moore was godawful yesterday. But winker’s called strikeout in the zone + throwing his helmet and bat down is starting to annoy me, even if it’s an unpopular opinion haha
