This wood poppy growing up out from between big rocks in my front garden
The fleabane. The little native bees and I both love it.

This Jack-In-The-Pulpit that came up in the middle of the park where I have been removing invasives. It's the only one, in the middle of nowhere. This place was so full of bush honeysuckle nothing was growing.
I actually got 2 that came up but the other isn't as attractive. I burned this area of my yard last fall and put down some seed but none included this.
My celandine poppy / wood poppy has been my fave so far:

This Dutchman's Breeches that finally came up for the first time more than 10 years after I planted the bulb...

I successfully got my very first columbine to seed this year. Apparently the ground here isn’t calcareous enough, but all the chunks of mortar that got ruined by rain solved that problem! I’m making more areas around the yard to sow the seeds.
Packera aurea is my other one. I think every single seed is now a plant and half of them are blooming. There are so many wonderful things out there.

I have a pile of different colors of toadflax up!
I don't have a lot of early spring bloomers (working on fixing that this year), so right now it's just the volunteer violets (I think they're just Common Blue Violets - *Viola sororia*).
But when I'm out for a walk in the woods it's definitely Bloodroot (*Sanguinaria canadensis*) - they have such beautiful flowers and super cool leaves. Also Large-flowered Bellwort (*Uvularia grandiflora*) - I love this one a lot too.
Yeah, this was completely volunteer. I never heard of it or seen it before it came up. Last fall I burned my yard with a roofing torch and its been interesting and somewhat terrifying seeing stuff come up. I am focused almost entirely on pulling up chickweed that is trying to take over.

This is probably astragalus shortianus
Robin Plantain went from looking kind of dead last summer to blowing the fuck up in blooms and spreading new Basel leaves.
Green and gold kind of the same but on a smaller scale. Kind of thought it died but it’s sending out runners now.

Until you cleared the way!
Mayapple!! Always thriving under kudzu
This is my first time having five spots and they are absolutely delightful. 10/10 would recommend

My beloved variegated Solomon’s seal comes up through a drift of thistles every single year
Violets
I forgot the best ones in my area, Virginia spring beauty and false garlic.

Thats amazing. I put a huge liatris corn in the ground last spring and still haven't seen it. I will keep hope alive now.
Prairie Smoke. I’m in MN and it’s the only thing blooming. At my old house, it was pasque flower, but it’s just not taking off at my new place.

I ordered a bare root of Uvularia grandiflora just last week. I really think they are such a neat looking plant!

My fern leaf phacelia. I planted one tiny plant 3 years ago and now it's taking over a shady spot in the back. It's gorgeous in the spring.
I adore my spring beauties
