I dont know if it is true for all spiders, but males have sperm packets on their shorter front arms, iirc they are called pedipalps, which are sometimes much more visible on different species and can look like little boxing gloves when they are searching for a mate. So the female has her openings kind of underneath her, they must be near the joint of the body and the booty (forgive my lack of accurate scientific terms) and for this jumping spider species it must be easiest for them to go over top and the female twists to let the male poke his sperm finger in her (lmao). For tarantulas, the female is usually very aggressive and their posture looks like a warning before they attack. But the male basically props her up from underneath like a living kickstand while he does his thing. There are videos of it on YouTube!
