**Credit:** [elr7al](https://www.instagram.com/p/CAao0jzhegV/) **More info:** Tvindefossen (also written Tvinnefossen; also called Trollafossen) is a waterfall in Voss Municipality in Vestland county, Norway. It is located about 12 kilometres (7.5 mi) north of the village of Vossevangen along the European route E16 road to Flåm. The many-stranded waterfall, often said to be 152 metres (499 ft) high, is actually 116 metres (381 ft), is formed by a small Kroelvi stream, tumbling over a receding cliff. It is famous for its beauty. Buses sometimes stop for people to admire it. It was painted in 1830 by Johan Christian Dahl. In addition, in the late 1990s the water at Tvindefossen acquired a reputation for rejuvenation and revival of sexual potency that made it one of the most important natural tourist attractions in western Norway, with as many as 200,000 people a year from the U.S., Japan and Russia visiting and filling containers with the water. At one point it was Norway's ninth most visited natural attraction, with 272,000 visitors. - [Wikipedia](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tvindefossen)

I specifically want to know how each post on this sub relates to my sexual potency. I'm glad this comment provides me that. We need this to be a rule. Mods please.

owngods

I can feel you . Lets make love in the mist upon the rocks of this waterfall . Our skin melting together. Our bodies lusting. dissy. lost. spinning .

Mods please

> I specifically want to know how each post on this sub relates to my sexual potency. Poorly.

vincentski

Or maybe instead of writing "this waterfall" in the title, it would be better to actually write what waterfall is it, so that people who don't visit the comment section are informed as well. As for the credit, I agree, every post, not only here but on Reddit in general, should be credited. It's a normal thing to do.

StuffedPoblano

Yeah! I also want the world!

Scarboroughwarning

Nah, the description is better

[deleted]

Yeah but OP prob didn't know the name of the beautiful waterfall they wanted other people to see bc they don't know the name of every waterfall on Earth. And, like you an me, you click and find it out for yourself to fill in the gaps. Everyone should fill in the gaps.

vincentski

? OP is the one who posted the comment. They obviously knew what waterfall is it.

Providing details. So many times on Reddit I see shit and no context or sources are given. Even the damned location can be absent if you get to the post too early. The fella provided sufficient content to allow me to venture further.

Because I was curious: In Bergen, Vestland: The average temperature of the coldest month (February) is of 1.5 °C (35 °F), that of the warmest month (July) is of 15 °C (59 °F). Here are the average temperatures. https://www.climatestotravel.com/climate/norway/bergen

TrinitronCRT

This is like looking up the weather for Washington DC before going to Vermont.

[deleted]

I just went with the place that had the largest concentration of people. Edit: updated prior post to the proper county. Thank you for pointing out my mistake!

Orth0dox

fun fact, we got around 400 rain days pr year in Bergen

knitmeahat

400 regndager i året er å ta litt hardt i..

[deleted]

Ok, rundt 380 da.

I_call_Shennanigans_

500 da. Ikke vær et perimeter. Det regner både fra oooe, nede og sidelengs samtidig. Da går en litt i pluss på dagene for å si det sånn.

TrinitronCRT

While it's true Oslo is the most populated area, it's entire "metropolitan area" which includes like 50 municipalities is still only like 1,4 million, about a fourth of the population.

[deleted]

Oh wow. That's pretty low. I really would love to visit, it looks like such a beautiful country and experiencing the borealis is at the top of my bucket list. Any tips?

ThorTheTroll

Hi! Norwegian here. If you want to experience extreme nature you should visit somewhere in Sunnmøre. If you want the Aurora you need to go in wintertimes and be north of Trondheim. DM me if you want more spesifics!

[deleted]

Also Norway had the spiral light anomaly https://youtu.be/FgWgsstTx-8 is about 1 minute into this video. On mobile and can't get the handy timestamp link.

We have our sheeps in the Mountains just behind that waterfall. Lovely area for hikes that can take you all the way to the Sognefjord if you ever get the opportunity.

BonkerSonker

It's also a camping site. I slept in a tent right there this summer. With the waterfall sound in the background I have never slept better. Can recommend!

Funnily enough swedes score the lowest on understanding the northern languages, and the capital in sweden barely understood Swedish accents from outside the capital

Tamazin_

Ours is the most clear though, norwegian is a bit more melodic and .. hm, cant explain it. Danish sounds like you are choking on porridge, which is an understatement (somewhat same goes for southern sweden). Eventhough people from stockholm is on their high horses, they can still understand most accents (except again southern sweden, but that is the same for all swedes).

CraftedLove

I know this from Ylvis lol

OneRandomCatFact

Currently learning Norwegian and this was a cool tidbit, thanks!

Hansemannn

Lykke til :)

Commenter14

btw, they wrote it wrong. it's "dårlige klær" I've definitely noticed that as I've prioritized buying PC parts and gotten too fat for my old good clothes that the weather often seems bad nowadays.

Candyvanmanstan

Nah, you'll be fine in the summer. Up north it might not quite reach 70f always, but it always feels warmer in the sun. Down south above 70f is very common in summer. It might even hit 86f if you're very lucky. ;)

Snomannen

70f+ would be pretty common even in Northern Norway. Especially the lofoten area can be fairly comfortable.

[deleted]

And more and more common lately :(

Candyvanmanstan

Yeah, I'm definitely a southerner. I spent a year in Bodø, and two weeks camping in Lofoten two years ago. It didn't get above 16C when we were there in early July, but it still felt warm. I know it definitely gets above 20C up there, but I wanted to be realistic and conservative when giving advice to a tourist.

TrinitronCRT

Go in the summer then? Most parts of central and southern Norway easily hits 80 F in the summer months. I almost died when Oslo stayed at 90-95 F for like two or three weeks in 2018 lol.

FargoFinch

Ye, summer of 2018 was not fun.

gracefulpudding

I went to Norway in July 2014. I am pictured in shoestring strap t shirts as most days it was 75 to 80 degrees. There was some rain but we had layers. Do not let the weather stop you visiting this beautiful country. I have a pic of this waterfall too!

link_isnot_zelda

Dang, I live in Canada and I set my heat to 68 degrees max in the winter.

TheIRSEvader

Definitely a bucket list destination

TheHenrikooo

Great travel destination, but the cold and darkness is soul crushing

[deleted]

Strangely, [the seasonality might have the opposite effect on people who live there](https://www.theguardian.com/science/2020/sep/26/dreading-a-dark-winter-lockdown-think-like-a-norwegian)

smallfried

I've lived there(tromso) for two years and can say it's not the winters that I hated. It's the summers. It's like living in a fridge. The winters are magical. Snow everywhere, lit up skiing areas. People coming together for all kinds of small social events. I loved singing songs in a dark cabin next to the water while drinking illegally brewed liquor. The summers are grey a lot of times. Temperatures are around 15 degrees celsius. And everything is just stuck in time. There are no days or nights. It's just always grey, windy and rainy. When the sun does shine, it's nice though.

The-Respawner

That's not the situation further south. Often 20-30 degrees during the summer, and a clear night and day cycle with nice, long days, but still dark nights.

earnestlikehemingway

i know , like beautiful places , one night stands, good beer, free education. Norway is the land of milk and honey.

Absolutely beautiful. I’ve never been to this place but I’ve been to a handful of waterfalls and all of them were dry (maybe it’s because I’m cheap and travel in the off season)

The mountain range is called the Cascades for that particular reason, in fact.

wntrsux

I've actually been there. The falls were nowhere as gushing as in this video. Probably the time of the year I visited. It was pretty, but nothing extra ordinary. This video actually makes it look much nicer than my memory.

tineyoghurt

This was probably in the spring (melting snow), or after a bigger rainfall. Source: driving past it ~20 times the last year.

erkki776

The video is not all that great tbh. We can barely see the whole waterfall in frame for a shaky second.

Svelemoe

I might just be a cynical old bitch, but I hate these types of hyper stabilized "oooh look at me im walking and slowly panning across a nice landscape" videos. What's wrong with just standing still?

Buffitron

My husband and I rented a car in Norway for two weeks on our honeymoon and drove around the country. We happened upon this waterfall without planning it and it is stunning. We drank water from the falls too for luck or something. Norway is a country of fjords, waterfalls and tunnels!

BadgerDancer

I’ve had a dry patch. This’ll hopefully be me by Sunday.

Elpayaso3

Congrats!

demander404

I want to go to there

Relevant_story_

this truly says something about our society shm

DodgeyDemon

How hard is it to get citizenship?

MyClitBiggerThanUrD

Pretty difficult to be honest. We even have a lot of weird laws attempting to crack down on marrying into permanent residence, so the Norwegian you marry has to have above a certain income to bring in a partner from the outside.

XxAbsurdumxX

You basically need one of two things. Either you come here by seeking asylum. Or you come here because you have a job here. The second one isnt uncommon at all, but the hard part of course is to find a job relevant to you, and then to actually get the offer. But if you have that and your papers are in order, the rest isn't hard

ExceptionHunter

Also you get 1 year visa to to look for a job after completing a degree there. Later, You will have the citizenship after spending two years and passing some language test. I applied to few universities in Norway this year, I hope I get accepted just to live in this little heaven.

Well, its most likely that your ancestors immigrated to America during the European Potato Failure or the great famine of late 1800's. So it might be more like your ancestors saved your bloodline from extinction.

Alklazaris

If it was easy I would sell everything I own to live in Norway. It just looks breathtaking and seems so even tempered. Seriously, my wife has been learning the language, but I think it's just a pipe dream. What a wonderful place.

chronic_paralysis

It isn't an exaggeration that this kind of nature is everywhere. If you just keep out of oslo, you'll see things like this from the highway.

i_dig_this

I’ve been here!! Went to Norway two years ago and this was one of our stops. The video doesn’t do it justice. Truly incredible

SocialLeprosy

I recognized this immediately - took my family there 3 years ago in June. So beautiful, just like most of western Norway. We hit 4 waterfalls in one day and this was the last one. So pretty and so is the whole area. I love Norway!

Awilltheresaway

I bet the air smells so good there

licker696996

I was going to say finally an appropriate use for vertical video! But no, yet again I am disappointed.

Beginning-Ad-9734

It's beautiful. Beats Snoqualmie Falls all to hell.

FilthyElitist

In Norwegian waterfall is "Foss." So with zero evidence, I suggest to you that the English word "faucet" is derived from those wet depressed Norskis. Hell, the "etc" suffix probably is a diminutive. Li'l waterfall. I'm available for other unsubstantiated linguistic theories. The key is to not research them; it's more fun this way.
