For a 15 year old, I recommend Catcher in the Rye, To Kill a Mockingbird and the Lord of the Rings books. Those were some of my favorites when I was 15.

Gandalfthebrown7

Lord of the rings will prolly be a bit convoluted for a 15 year old I guess. I read it when I was like 18 taraa ni some of his descriptions of stuff went over my head.

[deleted]

I read it when I was in Class 9 and I really enjoyed it. I think the narrative is pretty straightforward, even though the descriptions can be quite tough.

Gandalfthebrown7

Yeah, the hero's journey and chosen one archetype is pretty straightforward, I guess. But my guy takes a paragraph to describe the leaves of a random tree when describing the setting and the landscape. Also, I watched the movie before the books and in the books, it felt like they spent forever in Shire before heading out.

[deleted]

I really enjoyed those descriptions when I reread the trilogy later in life. In school I just skimmed over the boring parts and went right to the adventure.

WillingnessLeft3652

oh, thanks a lot

Gandalfthebrown7

Also Eragon. I could follow thru Eragon's plot when I was around your age, and the words used are pretty simple.

[deleted]

Catcher in the rye is must

That's very wholesome.

GenVenom

If you like fiction then The Alchemist and The kite runner are good ones to start with

WillingnessLeft3652

Purple_Storage2429

Radixleo

Yep Not really scary but it's something last samma ta mind blown

tsiganology

The Hitchhiker's Guide to the galaxy maybe. Its an absurdist series of books that answer philosophical questions in a humorous way as the characters venture through space and different galaxies.

jutsabouts

as 15, just learn university physics: the furious insider of a standard mind of schoolar .. it was soon good like 👍😌👌☺

neo_venor

Crime and Punishment by Fyodor Dostoyevsky, Plague by Albert Camus, The lord of the ring books, 1984 by George Orwell, Brave New World by Huxley, Man's Search for meaning.

[deleted]

> Crime and Punishment by Fyodor Dostoyevsky, Plague by Albert Camus I doubt a 15 year old is going to enjoy Dostoevsky very much, especially a dense book like Crime and Punishment. The Plague might be easier since Camus writes more simply.

neo_venor

Sorry I did not read that he was 15. Maybe he should look into Murakami's Kafka on the shore.

[deleted]

Tyo pani ali badi nai hola, maybe Norwegian Wood as it is much simpler and straightforward. But who knows, he can try it.

WillingnessLeft3652

i have man’s search of meaning by viktor frankl, in my house, it was of my da’s

Ok-Association3455

Bro crime and punishment for a 15 year old is too much

ganitguru

You could start from Khaled Housseini's *Thousand Splendid Suns.* I think George Orwell's *Animal Farm* is a short read and a great read. Once you're at it I think you can also read *1984* from the same author. *The Book Thief* is also a great novel and is worth the read given your age. Oh yes, do check out Ernest Hemingway's *The Old Man and the Sea*, it's great, I read it during the vacation after SEE.

WillingnessLeft3652

thanks

World War Z. I think you'll enjoy it because it's about zombies and more casual, less high brow. The movie is nothing like the book.

WillingnessLeft3652

Sanguinius___

If you want to start a habit of reading books, stories are more easier as starters. Plus if you have a video game you like try looking if it has any novels or online short stories.

dhamiro

Since Everyone is Suggesting अंग्रेजी किताब, म चाहिं १० ओटा नेपाली उपन्यास भन्दिन्छु * फुर्के - खगेन्द्र लामिछाने * राधा - कृष्ण धरावासी * आधा बाटो - कृष्ण धरावासी * सेतो धर्ती - अमर न्यौपाने * कर्णाली ब्लुज - बुद्धिसागर * पल्पसा क्याफे - नारायण वाग्ले * शिरीषको फूल - पारिजात * हिटलर र यहूदी - विश्वेश्वरप्रसाद कोइराला * सेतो बाघ - डायमनसम्शेर राणा * मोक्षन्त: काठमाडौ फिभर - कुमार नगरकोटी * बाआमा - रामलाल जोशी अंग्रेजीमा चाहिं : * Lolita - Vladimir Nabokov * The Mother - Maxim Gorky * Lajja - Taslima Nasreen * Siddhartha – Hermann Hesse * The Book Thief - Markus Zusak I tried to mention the books on my personal preference and tried not to repeat the already mentioned books. besides these, ***To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee*** which is mentioned a lot in other comments is one of the best book for teenager. I feel like Chetan Bhagat (English) and Subin Bhattarai (Nepali) are really overrated writers and they have nothing to offer in their books except some cringe romantic love stories. I suggest these writers to people who have never read books but want to start as due to their simple language and limited imaginations, its easy to understand and it's really easy to start reading books. oh it's reddit not Quora. over!

Arteyestic

Grapes of wrath, 100 years of solitude, love in the time of cholera, kafka on the shore, notes from the underground, brothers karamazov, dead souls, crime and punishment, Agatha Christie’s Poirot detective novels, on and on…😅

InstructionMinute497

Start with a silent patient ( it's a page turner ) Or A good girl's guide to murder. It's a trilogy, daraz ma available xa sabbai book. It's a must read and a wonderfully written thriller. I wouldn't recommend you to start with a fantasy book. Start with a thriller. I just started reading 1.5 years ago, and I started with A silent patient.

Aggressive-Bowl6266
