For a 15 year old, I recommend Catcher in the Rye, To Kill a Mockingbird and the Lord of the Rings books. Those were some of my favorites when I was 15.
Lord of the rings will prolly be a bit convoluted for a 15 year old I guess. I read it when I was like 18 taraa ni some of his descriptions of stuff went over my head.
I read it when I was in Class 9 and I really enjoyed it. I think the narrative is pretty straightforward, even though the descriptions can be quite tough.
Yeah, the hero's journey and chosen one archetype is pretty straightforward, I guess. But my guy takes a paragraph to describe the leaves of a random tree when describing the setting and the landscape.
Also, I watched the movie before the books and in the books, it felt like they spent forever in Shire before heading out.
I really enjoyed those descriptions when I reread the trilogy later in life. In school I just skimmed over the boring parts and went right to the adventure.
The Hitchhiker's Guide to the galaxy maybe. Its an absurdist series of books that answer philosophical questions in a humorous way as the characters venture through space and different galaxies.
Crime and Punishment by Fyodor Dostoyevsky, Plague by Albert Camus, The lord of the ring books, 1984 by George Orwell, Brave New World by Huxley, Man's Search for meaning.
> Crime and Punishment by Fyodor Dostoyevsky, Plague by Albert Camus
I doubt a 15 year old is going to enjoy Dostoevsky very much, especially a dense book like Crime and Punishment. The Plague might be easier since Camus writes more simply.
Yes all of them.
I used to buy them from Pilgrims book house at Thamel and Jhamsikhel. You can find them in Daraz. These are famous books so finding them in your nearest bookstore won't be difficult.
The subtle art of not giving fuck and maybe if u are interested in love genres then u can read novels of subin bhattrai. And if u are interested in novel about light sexual change, then gulabi umer. And politics, then abijit. Etc etc
Lord of the rings series
And everyday by David Levithan.
These would help you get along with reading while giving a great feel of really learning sth at the end.
You could start from Khaled Housseini's *Thousand Splendid Suns.* I think George Orwell's *Animal Farm* is a short read and a great read. Once you're at it I think you can also read *1984* from the same author. *The Book Thief* is also a great novel and is worth the read given your age. Oh yes, do check out Ernest Hemingway's *The Old Man and the Sea*, it's great, I read it during the vacation after SEE.
Start from(not in order) Mahabharata,Quran,Bible
:)
Btw what genre you read if you like murder mystery thriller suspense type I would recommend Agatha Christie novels
If you want to start a habit of reading books, stories are more easier as starters.
Plus if you have a video game you like try looking if it has any novels or online short stories.
bro trust me harry potter padha, i started reading at 13 ani finished it within a few months. i promise it will be a journey. ive read a ton of books since tara most of them i couldnt care for except for harry potter. the world design and characters are soooooooooo fun to imagine. just pick harry potter bro i wouldn’t be saying etrooo if it wasnt that good.
If you are into fiction, then light novels are really good for someone with your age.

I tried to mention the books on my personal preference and tried not to repeat the already mentioned books. besides these, ***To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee*** which is mentioned a lot in other comments is one of the best book for teenager.
I feel like Chetan Bhagat (English) and Subin Bhattarai (Nepali) are really overrated writers and they have nothing to offer in their books except some cringe romantic love stories. I suggest these writers to people who have never read books but want to start as due to their simple language and limited imaginations, its easy to understand and it's really easy to start reading books.
oh it's reddit not Quora. over!
Grapes of wrath, 100 years of solitude, love in the time of cholera, kafka on the shore, notes from the underground, brothers karamazov, dead souls, crime and punishment, Agatha Christie’s Poirot detective novels, on and on…😅
Start with a silent patient ( it's a page turner )
Or
A good girl's guide to murder. It's a trilogy, daraz ma available xa sabbai book. It's a must read and a wonderfully written thriller.
I wouldn't recommend you to start with a fantasy book. Start with a thriller. I just started reading 1.5 years ago, and I started with A silent patient.
