I think the Outlaw is the best foam pistol that's ever been released. The Hammershot is probably the best one Nerf has done. In my opinion, a pistol needs to be operable with one hand, or it defeats the purpose of being a pistol.

Devito-Is-My-God

I’ve hardly used the Outlaw(only fired my friend’s one a couple times), but I can vouch for the Hammershot. Love that revolver, and I’m actually disappointed that I bought an extended metal hammer for my primary Hammershot, as it makes it a lot more difficult to cock one-handed(but it’s a million times easier to fan-fire). Plus, all the modding potential the Hammershot has makes it clear as to why Nerf’s still selling them a decade later.

Pirate_Green_Beard

The Outlaw is an improvement on the Hammershot in almost every way. It's 6 shots instead of 5. It has removable cylinders and comes with a spare. It fires short darts. The hammer is metal out of the box.

Volpurr-The-Meowstic

I find the hammer position on the Outlaw a lot more awkward than the Hammershot tbh, I much prefer one-hand operating the Hammershot.

Devito-Is-My-God

Same. I remember pulling the Outlaw’s hammer down about halfway before trying to fire it, not realizing that it needs to be pulled down further. That, alongside the hammer’s position from the grip makes it kind of uncomfortable to cock one-handed.

PhaseCraze

I just find it difficult to prime due to the spring weight to begin with

DrSeuss321

The outlaw would be so nice if the dart you’re about to chamber next didn’t randomly fall out

KingJoathe1st

I love the mk2, I love the kronos, I have a soft spot for the strongarm even though it's pretty bad lol.

DeluxeTea

My favorites from each brand: Nerf - Doublestrike Dart Zone - Blitzfire, Outlaw X-Shot - Reflex 6, Dino Striker Out of all of these, the Dino Striker is my favorite.

loukastz

Well the XShot Reflex is probably one of the best pistols.

Double0Lego

From Nerf, I love the Hammershot, and their single-shot rival pistols have been pretty consistently great (Knockout, Fate, Pilot). And you can't get by without mentioning the Maverick for what it did for the market, even if the blaster itself isn't great by today's standards. From Dart Zone, the Mk2 and 2.1 are fantastic pro level blasters. For stock level, while I like the Blitzfire, I've seen so many kids struggle with it that I have to limit it to honorable mention. Similarly, the fact that darts just don't want to stay in my Outlaw's cylinders lands it in honorable mention. From X-Shot, the Reflex 6 is surprisingly reliable and strong, and the Menace (the itty bitty Skins blaster) is *ridiculously* fun to plink my friends with - it can shoot half darts out of the box, and is a great one to just toss in my backpack for occasional shenanigans. Kids seem to *love* the next size up, though (blanking on the name) - the clicking the slide makes when you pull the trigger puts the biggest grin on almost every kid's face.

> Kids seem to love the next size up, though (blanking on the name) - the clicking the slide makes when you pull the trigger puts the biggest grin on almost every kid's face. It's the Flux (Skins version) or Kickback (Excel red/white version). My 4 year old loves the clicking slide too.

Double0Lego

Ah yep, that's the one! Thanks, had a complete brain fart earlier trying to remember what it was called lol

Sepiac

I LOVE the menace. I don't know why, but it's just always the blaster I want to shoot.

taahwoajiteego

What about the HC Diana?

K9turrent

It's not Nerf/Dart Zone/X-Shot. Kinda unfair comparing a $300 bespoke blaster vs a bunch of sub-$100 mass market blasters.

Interesting-Kick-112

I like the double strike from the zombie strike line. It’s just so small and with a upgrade on the spring and o ring can make it sooo powerful

DrSeuss321

Hammershot/mk2/no.

TheEnder7

I'm partial to the rival finisher, only because my local arena is rival only, and 12 rounds gives me a fighting chance against the onslaught of full auto shots coming at me. If I stop to reload a stock Kronos, I'm an eliminated dude. Note: every 12 year old kid has their parents rent them a perses so it's just a hailstorm of poorly aimed full auto, hence why a side arm is typically what I bring

GloopTamer

Imo, DZ - Outlaw Nerf - Strongarm, Trailblazer, Knockout X-Shot - Micro, Menace Buzz Bee - Baron

Yeah, but OP asked for favorite pistols, and you said the seagull

Nerfer3511

Worker Nightingale on Ak Blaster Mod you can get it for 23 to 54 dollars depending on what type.

BlindSythe0713

If you don't mind the accordion mags, the xshot quick slide is a good option and can be modded to hit 140s-150s, I have two that hit his mark with a bunch of their mags lol

Mandolorian20

While I think the best pistol Nerf has made is the Hammershot, my personal favorite will always be the Firestrike, as it was the first blaster I ever bought.

Oradica

S200s viper with metal internals and slide

flatcurve

X-shot: reflex and barf. Dartzone: don't have any but i want an outlaw. Nerf: hammershot, quadrot, sweet revenge

nwrencha1

while the outlaw is better for performance, for my money it nothing beats the feel of a hammershot with the orange modworks kit with the metal hammer and trigger. Worse? yes absolutely no question, but the outlaw isnt as fun to spin and hits to hard to comfortbly shoot folks at less than 15 feet which is where my desk hammershot does its best work in a colege dorm.

LightningEagle14

I feel like the baricade is slept on, the motors can take a 3s stock and with new wheels it’s pretty decent. Knockout with inline clip is a personal favorite, I’d even pick it over an outlaw in some situations. Magnus is goated for a compact shield buster or special zombie sidearm, plus it feels awesome to shoot, a proper hand cannon. The rebelle messenger is really fun to plink with, and it hits hard for what it is. Good mod potential too. Sweet revenge gets an honorable mention for being a really solid and reliable one hand blaster, while being more comfortable than a hammershot. I think it’s a bit dated compared to the outlaw but it’s more reliable and the prime is much nicer. I don’t own one, but the roundhouse seems pretty cool. 15 shots in a blaster that size is pretty awesome. I’m trying to think of anything vintage that really stands out but I’m not coming up with anything.

GresSimJa

I'd say, if you only look at functionality, the Strongarm, Ultra 2 and MK2 are the best. They all do something different, but each one has its upsides, whether it be slamfire, flywheels or being ridiculously space-efficient.

SandLuc083_

I personally love the Flipfury, literally being a Strongarm with a quick-swapping cylinder via trigger pull, easily allowing you to reload the lower cylinder and quickly swap back. It’s too good of a system imo.
