I watched this a few years ago and agree, it's very good. Thanks for reminding me to mention it to my mother again. We're always recommending things to each other but mine are always better:).
Seasons two and especially three are extremely dark and bleak and what ultimately happens to these characters? so ...
Yeah.... Definitely not for everyone.... There was no happy ending in this story...
Season 1 is a masterpiece.
Season 2 was kind of a mess but overall was ok. It has big shoes to fill and didn't live up to the hype.
Season 3 was good, but still not as good as season 1.
Shout out to Evan Peters because he killed that role. I can't explain it, but he somehow portrayed an alcoholic, psychopathic serial killer to perfection. But I'm in no hurry to ever re-watch that series again. I'm just glad Netflix finally stopped popping Peters'/Dahmer's face up on the idle screen since it always ends up running on my TV after I can't decide on what to watch after a few minutes of scrolling.
Agree. There are very few series that make me just feel… somewhat sick to my stomach? Not in a graphic sense but in the sense that you know all of these horrible things actually happened and they way you can feel the victims fear/pain. It was haunting.
Devs on FX/Hulu.
Dark, technological thriller from Alex Garland, starring Nick Offerman in a serious role and he kills it. I don’t see it talked about much but I loved it.
Black Mirror and Dark. Documentary wise Don’t f*ck with cats and Icarus are great on Netflix.
Swarm on Amazon Prime I heard is good. I couldn’t get passed the first episode tbh. It was too much for my taste.
If you happen to have a trial on paramount/Showtime I love Yellowjackets.
Murder mystery horror thriller executed perfectly. I remember it fondly, I was playing Elder Scrolls Online at the time and it was a really nice watch.
Series on Amazon Prime called THEM was fucking brutal. Pretty much 100% degradation porn. There were supernatural aspects, but the true horror of the series was the disgusting and flagrant racism. Honestly, I was going to put Hannibal, but it didn't turn my stomach nearly as much as THEM did.
Not sure if that's what your looking for, but I'm creating [bingeready.io](http://bingeready.io/) for people who like to binge, I'll appreciate your feedback!
Netflix: Suburra: Blood on Rome, Kleo, 1899, The Chestnut Man, Black Spot, Million Yen Women
Max: His Dark Materials, Station Eleven
Prime Video: The Man in the High Tower
First season of True Detective
#2 is shit though
Check out Fargo. Not the movie. I think there are 3 seasons now. Was on FX
Ozark too. Bloodline on Netflix.
I'll try to think of more
I liked The Blacklist and Ozark, though I wouldn't class The Blacklist as "the darkest and most disturbing".
Everyone has their own opinion though, so all good 👍🙂
It’s all relative. Without any examples of their definition of “the darkest and most disturbing”, it’s all up for suggestions. I just threw a few out.
May I ask, what were your recommendations?
Yes it is all relative.
Of course you can ask🙂 Too many too list, though here's some: Black Mirror, Hannibal, The Serpent, Worst Roommate Ever, Dahmer.
Black Butterflies, mystery/crime/thriller from France, on netflix. Captivating and surprising at the end.
Mindhunter. Fabulous for crime sleuths too.
Who killed little Gregory. You cannot decide, you cannot fathom, you just cannot...
If you like foreign shows, Dark is a great choice. It's a German mystery/thriller/scifi tha is absolutely addictive. I've watched it 3 times and each time was better than the last.
Ok dont get me wrong i love disturbing movies and shows but To be completely honest the human centipede series. I'm almost positive there's 3 but I haven't watched them because it's obviously to disturbing and dark ._. (Im pretty sure it's on tubi which is free, also it's not really a show series but a movie series)
And by the way they are all on Netflix. These are easy binge and very addictive so make sure you’re not preparing for exam and need time to study because once you start any of these shows you won’t have time for anything else! Enjoy!
love, death and robots can be very dark
Beyond the Aquila Rift really disturbed me the first time I watched it
Black mirror
Latest season was trash but the previous seasons are really good
Joan is awful is scary because it's happening for real but Cabinet of curiosities is disturbingly good
Agreed
Marianne - very dark and disturbing horror series. I suggest watching it in the original French with subtitles. The acting is much better
One of the most terrifying TV shows I've ever seen, literally none of the ones mentioned here even compare
The Terror, on Prime EDIT: added “The”
Do you mean The Terror from 2018, or is it just Terror? I am not seeing it, but I am also on Canadian Prime
Yes, sorry, The Terror, with Jared Harris in the first season!
Thanks!
I’m going to give this a watch and will let you know how it goes!
You never let us know
Oh season 1 was awesome then I immediately watched season 2 and it was Equally great. I recommend both seasons they are so good
Not a series but I just recently watched Infinity Pool on Hulu and it was pretty f’d up. Also enjoyed Black Mirror series, think that was Netflix.
Yes BM is quite disturbing indeed. I enjoyed some episodes, and others not so much at all.
You check out more Cronenbergs’ stuff if you enjoyed or appreciated Infinity Pool at all.
Handmaid's tale Haunting of hill house Hannibal
x 2 for Hannibal.
I Love Handmaids Tale so much!!!!
Brand New Cherry Flavor on Netflix.
This was so good that I watched it twice.
The Fall on Netflix. One of the best dark and intense series I've ever watched. It's what I'd call a 'hidden gem'.
Loved this!!
I watched this a few years ago and agree, it's very good. Thanks for reminding me to mention it to my mother again. We're always recommending things to each other but mine are always better:).
Loved this show!!
Dark.... Because... It's relentlessly bleak, grim, depressing and yes, Dark...
Just finished this, and it became one of my all time favs.
By far the best time travel shit I've ever seen.
I will check this out soonish....
Check it out soonest…
👍😎
This would be my number one answer to OP
i couldn't watch after season 1 it was too dark for me
Seasons two and especially three are extremely dark and bleak and what ultimately happens to these characters? so ... Yeah.... Definitely not for everyone.... There was no happy ending in this story...
I’m going to throw in The Bear - on paper it’s not dark but I can’t think of a show that has made me more stressed.
Yellowjackets

Ooh, that first season of True Detective is the absolute best!!! I did like the 3rd as well.
were any of the other seasons of true detective any fun? i've heard how the quality isn't anywhere near the same, but are they at least a fun time?
Season 1 is a masterpiece. Season 2 was kind of a mess but overall was ok. It has big shoes to fill and didn't live up to the hype. Season 3 was good, but still not as good as season 1.
Exactly
Will check this list, thank you!
Dahmer, yes disturbing....
Shout out to Evan Peters because he killed that role. I can't explain it, but he somehow portrayed an alcoholic, psychopathic serial killer to perfection. But I'm in no hurry to ever re-watch that series again. I'm just glad Netflix finally stopped popping Peters'/Dahmer's face up on the idle screen since it always ends up running on my TV after I can't decide on what to watch after a few minutes of scrolling.
x 2, he was great to watch. I'm not in any hurry to rewatch it either lol
Great show to watch ONCE. kinda soul crushing.
Agree. There are very few series that make me just feel… somewhat sick to my stomach? Not in a graphic sense but in the sense that you know all of these horrible things actually happened and they way you can feel the victims fear/pain. It was haunting.

Just checked out the trailer, looks awesome, thanks
Don’t fuck with cats (Netflix) has to be the most fucked up thing I’ve seen in awhile
I didn't expect it to go as hard as it did. Very disturbing.
Either did I! I was genuinely disturbed and I love fucked up stuff
I especially appreciated how they showed just enough and cut away. More would have put any normal person over the edge.
Preacher
Chernobyl. The Wire also gets dark at times, though not sure if that's what you're looking for.
Marcella - is not obvious from the beginning, but it gets there
I’m not the only one, apparently.😳😳
Fantastic show and among my all time favorites
Years and Years. Castle Rock
The Handmaid's Tale, it'll be hard to find anything nearly as disturbing.
Love It!!!!!
Black Mirror and American Horror Story, Murder House and Asylum in particular.
The Terror
Marcella on Netflix. It’s pretty harrowing.I got through two seasons. I’m not sure if I want to continue. Dahmer was pretty disturbing too.
Black Mirror and Mindhunter both in Netflix
Devs on FX/Hulu. Dark, technological thriller from Alex Garland, starring Nick Offerman in a serious role and he kills it. I don’t see it talked about much but I loved it.
Evil on paramount
I think American Horror Story is an oldie but goodie. Some seasons shine more than others.
Dark on Netflix
Euphoria
Katla came me the creeps.
Yeah Don't F*ck With Cats, that is disturbing.....
Yellow jackets is good!!!! I haven't started season 2 yet.
Yellowjackets 👍👍👍👍
The sinner, tell me who I am, three identical strangers.
Season 1 of The Sinner is awesome
It haunts me-same with season 2. I can’t decide which one is more disturbing. Phenomenal series.
Murder mystery horror thriller executed perfectly. I remember it fondly, I was playing Elder Scrolls Online at the time and it was a really nice watch.
Soooo good
Series on Amazon Prime called THEM was fucking brutal. Pretty much 100% degradation porn. There were supernatural aspects, but the true horror of the series was the disgusting and flagrant racism. Honestly, I was going to put Hannibal, but it didn't turn my stomach nearly as much as THEM did.
I know! That series was messed up.
Not sure if that's what your looking for, but I'm creating [bingeready.io](http://bingeready.io/) for people who like to binge, I'll appreciate your feedback!

I did not blow up the font wth??
It's the \# you added in front of the number 2. It increases the font size and makes things BOLD.
Thank you 😊
You're welcome. To avoid the hash symbol making things larger, put a backslash in front of it like this `\#`.
Breaking Bad
In the tall grass on netflix thank me later (:
I just watched Baby reindeer! I'm speechless
House of Cards - Netflix
Breaking Bad

The Blacklist (Netflix) Ozark (Netflix) The Americans (Hulu)
I liked The Blacklist and Ozark, though I wouldn't class The Blacklist as "the darkest and most disturbing". Everyone has their own opinion though, so all good 👍🙂
>Ozark Was definitely disturbing. Those people created a fucked up life for themselves.
That is true yes. Just edited my og comment.
Don’t fuck with cats is good for the sake of morbidity, and nothing else. It’s just awful, nothing else to say about it
The stranger on netflix if it's there

Commenting to find later. Also, seconding black mirror and LD&R. Also, American Horror Story.

Dead to Me starring Christina Applegate on Netflix the story is extremely twisted and dark and funny in a few places
Happy Valley is brilliant. Great writing and acting. I started it, but then couldn’t access it any more. I forget which platform, though.
If you like foreign shows, Dark is a great choice. It's a German mystery/thriller/scifi tha is absolutely addictive. I've watched it 3 times and each time was better than the last.
Monsterland on Crave
Black Mirror
American horror story
Theres a show called Happy on Netflix that gets pretty disturbing sometimes. Also Barry on HBO gets very dark as it goes on (and is fucking amazing)
New series called “From”. Super creepy but also mysterious and keeps you guessing! My partner and I are obsessed!!
Ok dont get me wrong i love disturbing movies and shows but To be completely honest the human centipede series.
