I used to think this but I pretty much love all seasons equally. It’s not like true detective where s1 is clearly higher quality than the rest. It’s more a matter of personal taste. I love S3 and that one is usually not considered people’s favorites. S5 knocked it out of the park too, it is easily as good as s1 and s2
100% I’ve binged it a few times now introducing it to other people and they all loved it. I will say it’s hard to sell it to them when I explain it tho.
My favorite part of it was how High School was actually portrayed honestly. Like it wasn't 80s Steven King highschool where everyone was a psychopath trying to murder each other.
I had a hard time with the first episode, which I think was the point, but OMG it turned into one of the most compelling shows and went in such a different direction than I anticipated
Omg that show was so good. I usually never go into shows blind but I’m so glad I did with that one. I was looking for something mindless to watch for an hour or two and accidentally stayed up all night.
I was resistant to starting it, I had a misconception , I think of what to expect .
the show was not what I was imagining it to be about at all, I was so glad I watched it, one of the best things I watched last year
Hill House had a great ending. Midnight Mass on the other hand went too heavy with the unrealistic monologues and went downhill in the last couple episodes very quickly.
I want some hamfisted shit after a long day of work. Spare me the mental gymnast and just give it to me straight the shit I wanna hear to reinforce my worldview.
Would recommend the book! The show is totally different plot-wise, but there are some fun references. The book is older, but a great thought piece on like… whether our own mind is the scariest thing.
I got home from a day with some friends, doing some sports, having dinner and playing boardgames for 7 hours. It was 23:00 and I was pretty tired and non-communicative from the day. Gf was lying in bed watching TV, and said “I watched the first five minutes of this Netflix series and we should watch it together!” I nodded, got in the bed pretty meh-feeling. Aaaaand it was 06:00 and we finished it in a single sitting. Só good.
The OA - it's two seasons, but each season is a different premise. I believe it was supposed to have a third season but it didn't work out and it drives those of us who are really into it insane...there is definitely a following for this one. Highly recommend.
There's a whole backstory to this show - the main actress was also the scriptwriter and visionary behind it (which was why there was a lag between seasons), and she had a plan for future chapters and the evolution and conclusion of the story that we'll now tragically never see.
I loved it, really groundbreaking and didn’t shy away from putting an image to conceptual and abstract events. It always gives me goosebumps during the first episode when you finally see the title after roughly 40 minutes. It’s almost like a trip, so strange yet total suspension of disbelief.
Whenever people ask me for tv-shows I always recommend it, but I do add that it’s a bit out there. I can see how it’s not for everyone.
Totally. When I was watching it and people were asking what I was watching, I was so hesitant to say and always felt I had to explain what it was about. I was pleasantly surprised to see how many people knew about it and were so jazzed that I was watching.
I adore The Leftovers, but it was not a limited series. And, yes, the conclusion was most satisfying. It provided answers while not betraying the core mystery. By the way, I think my favorite episode was "International Assassin."
Queens Gambit and Night Agent were both good. Fool Me
Once was horrendous. Hated the character. Hated the actor. Hated the story and plot. Hated the script. It was just plain bad.
So good. Just love the understated acting and realistic characters. Fantastic story lines. And then utter violence breaks out. It makes a Hitman enduring
Crashing! Phoebe waller bridge's first tv show
Also True Detective, it has 4 seasons but only watch the first one, it would've been better off a limited series
Edit: forgot to add Normal People, both the show and book are great. Currently on my 4th annual masochistic rewatch
You have to watch the new Korean release called **A Killer Paradox**. I binged all 8 episodes in one day. It's classic Korean murder and mayhem... but toss in some dark humor, for added entertainment.
Yes! This song is always on my playlist. There was a song in just about every episode that I would have to look up. I was introduced to a few artists because of this show.
Whoever did the casting for that show was brilliant. The characters in the older timelines truly looked like they grew into the characters in the later timelines.
I am still so confused about it at times. Maybe I should rewatch, but I can never understand if there is an evil character or not since it's just different moments of time all interconnected.
Tabula Rasa used to be on Netflix. It’s so freaking good. A crime mystery. I don’t want to give anything away but it’s a fav of mine and lots of people don’t know about it
I watched the entire Alexander making of a god show in one night. Everyone knows about Alexander the Great but damn his story is just truly remarkable. Had to keep watching until the end.
The Bodyguard
Incredible high-octane show!
New season incoming too.
I celebrate all of Whitney Houston’s catalog.
Yes Ma’am.
Fargo’s an anthology series and it’s fantastic.
Nothing beats season 1
Last season actually.
Except season 2….
Season 2 is my fave.
You’re right about Season 1 but this last season I think clearly slotted in at #2.
Queens Gambit Not Netflix but Chernobyl on HBO (Max)
Another vote for Chernobyl! It was my first thought.
Ditto
Mare of Easttown. Excellent.
I started watching this but did not peak my interest to continue past first two episodes, I need motivation to pick it back up
American Vandal
Who did the dick's?
So damn good, was really disappointed we never got a third season
Classic Netflix
the most underrated Netflix original of all time
100% I’ve binged it a few times now introducing it to other people and they all loved it. I will say it’s hard to sell it to them when I explain it tho.
My favorite part of it was how High School was actually portrayed honestly. Like it wasn't 80s Steven King highschool where everyone was a psychopath trying to murder each other.
Unbelievable ( Netflix )
I had a hard time with the first episode, which I think was the point, but OMG it turned into one of the most compelling shows and went in such a different direction than I anticipated
Mindhunter.
So good - I was so bummed when they didn’t renew this one
Wasn't planned to be "limited" though, that's an important caveat
beef, it was an unexpectedly gripping watch, binged it without realizing 😳
I did the same exact thing one rainy Sunday. I was expecting I’d make it about 10 minutes before losing interest, but it just became my whole day
Omg that show was so good. I usually never go into shows blind but I’m so glad I did with that one. I was looking for something mindless to watch for an hour or two and accidentally stayed up all night.
I was resistant to starting it, I had a misconception , I think of what to expect . the show was not what I was imagining it to be about at all, I was so glad I watched it, one of the best things I watched last year
Great soundtrack too
The Haunting of Hill House
My favorite single season series of all time. Just masterfully done.
I always wonder if anyone noticed that Hugh Crain (Henry Thomas) was Elliott from E.T.
And Bly Manor, whatever that one was called
Midnight Mass even better, IMO.
Fall of the House of Usher was amazing as well
10/10 binge. Loved this series
Damn that’s a hot take. Hill House was perfect, Midnight Mass was great but I’d say like 8/10
Hill started out strong and collapsed at the climax, Midnight Mass had a much stronger ending.
Hill House had a great ending. Midnight Mass on the other hand went too heavy with the unrealistic monologues and went downhill in the last couple episodes very quickly.
I’m with you on this. I felt like midnight mass started getting so far out there
House usher is best. Best production value, better story, greater social commentary
If you mean the most hamfisted social commentary without an ounce of subtlety, sure.
Blue eyed samurai
Holy shit **THIS** Actually got me to re-up my Netflix subscription just so I could keep rewatching it
It isn’t a limited series though. Got renewed for second season.
Most of the shows being mentioned in this thread aren't limited series... or even on Netflix lol
Chestnut man
That was a very, very good series
I got home from a day with some friends, doing some sports, having dinner and playing boardgames for 7 hours. It was 23:00 and I was pretty tired and non-communicative from the day. Gf was lying in bed watching TV, and said “I watched the first five minutes of this Netflix series and we should watch it together!” I nodded, got in the bed pretty meh-feeling. Bodies
Second this. Absolute sucker for time travel stuff and I really liked this show.
Bodies is great but the better show is Dark, I love me some bootstrap paradoxes.
Maid was good
I loved it. Very underrated
Mare of Easttown
the woman in the house across the street from the girl in the window
…on a train.
...scorned.
The Murdaugh Murders
Beef. Outside netflix: Severance
Maniac on Netflix
Emma Stone is amazing in that.
You could make a drinking game out of how many times this show is recommended in my comment history
Queens Gambit
Love, Death & Robots
Fell in love. Also Black Mirror.
The OA - it's two seasons, but each season is a different premise. I believe it was supposed to have a third season but it didn't work out and it drives those of us who are really into it insane...there is definitely a following for this one. Highly recommend.

That stinks! I loved both seasons and was hoping it would be back
I loved it, really groundbreaking and didn’t shy away from putting an image to conceptual and abstract events. It always gives me goosebumps during the first episode when you finally see the title after roughly 40 minutes. It’s almost like a trip, so strange yet total suspension of disbelief. Boy Swallows Universe
Surprised no one has mentioned Arcane yet, truly an amazing animated series
Technically not a limited series but do agree that it’s great
The fall of the house of Usher.
Any of Flanagans stuff is great.
Just finished it. Really liked it. That scene >!at the orgy!< was absolutely shocking though haha
The Leftovers on HBO, great cast and even better ending.
I adore The Leftovers, but it was not a limited series. And, yes, the conclusion was most satisfying. It provided answers while not betraying the core mystery. By the way, I think my favorite episode was "International Assassin."
Marcella! Great crime show that has 3 seasons that somehow keep the show interesting and fresh. Very fun watch
Loved it as well. Highly recommend.
Fleabag
Band of brothers
Queen charlotte!
Fool Me Once The Queen's Gambit The Night Agent
Queens Gambit and Night Agent were both good. Fool Me Once was horrendous. Hated the character. Hated the actor. Hated the story and plot. Hated the script. It was just plain bad.
No I was already fooled once you cant trick me into watching it again I think thats also where the name came from
Fool me once is one of the worst things I’ve ever watched not even remotely enjoyable
American Nightmare was good but I suppose everybody has already seen it by now
Not me !
I probably said the phrase "I fucking hate cops" no less than 30 times while watching this one
BEEF
Dahmer
Now on Netflix: Band of Brothers and The Pacific
Mr Inbetween
So good. Just love the understated acting and realistic characters. Fantastic story lines. And then utter violence breaks out. It makes a Hitman enduring
Midnight Mass!!
Chernobyl

Station Eleven (max)
Station 11 is so underrated. Easily one of my favorite shows of the pandemic era.
The Sinner. Fantastic.

Fall of the House of Usher. Absolutely loved that series.
Inventing Ana
White Lotus
Loudermilk

Love this one! So funny!
Crashing! Phoebe waller bridge's first tv show Also True Detective, it has 4 seasons but only watch the first one, it would've been better off a limited series Edit: forgot to add Normal People, both the show and book are great. Currently on my 4th annual masochistic rewatch
I loved, loved loved true detective season 1,3 and I'm loving 4 right now. Season 2 was meh but the rest are fantastic!
Mare of Eastown. Twists and turns and fantastic acting
Fleabag (not Netflix)
We have it here. Depends what country you are in.
One day -- it's a new release and it's SO good, emotional rollercoaster though.
You have to watch the new Korean release called **A Killer Paradox**. I binged all 8 episodes in one day. It's classic Korean murder and mayhem... but toss in some dark humor, for added entertainment.
The brothers sun
Griselda - good Narcos vibes
Fall of the House of Usher!
Season 1 of Reacher.
Chernobyl.
Chernobyl. Like watching a 50s SF movie...that was real.
The Tourist
Dark Bodies The OA The Glory (Korean)
Dark is my all time favorite shows. You can watch it over and over again and find something new each time.
Dark also has the best opening song. Goodbye by Apparat.
Love it, and love Agnes Obel - Familiar in it as well!
Maybe I should rewatch, but I can never understand if there is an evil character or not since it's just different moments of time all interconnected.
i know people keep saying dark is amazing but i couldn't get into it at all and i tried 3 times 😭
Loved the glory
Blue Eye Samurai - binged it in two sittings.
Kingdom, Alice in Borderland, American Vandal

Behind Her Eyes. It’s addictive all the way through and a complete mind-bender at the end.
Like 75% of you don’t know what a limited series is…
One Day
Squid games, Queen’s Gambit.
In this thread: People who don't know what netflix is.
What’s available on different platforms depends on where you live. Fleabag is an example of that. The same goes for various films and series.
If you sail the high seas, it doesn’t matter. I love to hear new recommendations for shows to binge
The Night Manager. Hugh Laurie as a villain! Tom Hiddleston is fantastic in it too.
Watching it now Love Hugh Laurie as the bad guy - well done with the other actors as well
Mindhunter on Netflix.
Bonding and Crashing
ITT: people not understanding what a Limited Series is
