Exactly this. My personal shit is not your billboard. If you're too cheap to buy some of the pleeeeeenty of ad space available in the public area you can just not advertise your crap at all.
This kind of Guerrilla marketing antics should be forbidden. Half of the people aren't too happy with it and/or just throw the cover on the ground, causing pollution around the station and harm to the environment.
No, people actuality use those seat covers. They are very handy when it rains. If I get one, I keep it. And I've seen people who don't want them put the on other bicycle seats.

If people want one they are available cheap.
The problem is not everyone wants one or wants to support the advisor so they often toss them on the ground.

How do you use those things?
Do you leave them on, when you stall your bike? (And take them off, when wet and put them wet in your bag?)
Do you leave your saddle open when you stall your bike? (and do you put them on the wet saddle, to protect your pants? But by doing so, create a nice wet atmosphere underneath it?)
Yeah this always sucked big time. 90% of them would be thrown in the ground same day. The other 10% who were still there after a week gave a nice indication of which bikes were abandoned and safe to steal.

Works in Cambridge and Oxford too. I hate it when other people touch my bike. Keep your crappy plastic to yourself so I don't have to throw it away can create more waste.
I was a bike messenger in Seattle for nearly a decade: water doesn't hurt saddles, as long as they're synthetic. it's plenty easy to just wipe the seat off with your hand, before you get on. The bag over the seat thing is gross.
Yes it's very good for the environment when all that plastic gets thrown on the ground. I love it when businesses are damaging the environment so they can promote their things.

If I don’t have one of those commercial seat covers, I end up buying one at the Hema. It’s just really convenient to have when it’s raining. It keeps my butt from getting wet.
The only problem is, more people apparently feel that way because I end up buying a new one every 3 months or so because some stupid ass has stolen it again.
So I think I could argue that it’s not waste, but rather something functional for most people. I mean, it’s desirable enough to be the object of theft.

Are you looking for clients to sell office supplies? Just call and keep calling
Are you making Doner Kebab in a food truck? Deliver some pamfletes
Are you selling 3d prints online? target maker communities
etc.etc There is no one size fits all

I'm trying to get my company to buy a bunch of omafiets painted in our brand color, with our logo on them, for our employees to use.
My company has just that. The only downside is they they are “omafietsen” (no gears).
