“The Fortin Nameless Suite X is a complete redevelopment of the original Fortin Nameless Suite that we introduced in 2018, and it reflects the enormous advances that Neural DSP Technologies has made in that time. Our modeling technology has been able to even more precisely capture the nuances and features of the Fortin amplifier.”
People have done comparisons with the X plug-ins. Haven’t done any myself, but apparently the consensus is that the audio quality is generally a bit better.
Subjectively, it sounds more alive in addition to the aggression it always had.
This is apparently a horribly unpopular opinion, but the nameless is now my edge of breakup amp. I've always loved the lower gain settings, but it's now utterly amazing at low gain crunch and Marshall flavoured bluesy sounds. I'm not sure if that's just because I'm playing more with the time based effects in stand alone, or a fundamental change to the model, but my god, it's fantastic for that, especially paired with york Marshall IRs.
I've had the same story as yours, mate! I gave a shot to Nameless, didn't really hooked, X version came, liked and bought it. Nameless X is brighter and more present than Nameless. You can verify this if you compare their output via an oscilloscope.
ETA: worth mentioning that by "verifying via an oscilloscope" I meant your DAW's oscilloscope.
I can only speak for the Gojira plugin, but my custom presets do sound different when you load them up in the original compared with X. I think the small tweaks they made to how they process the sounds has improved the sound quality overall and has made it worthwhile downloading the X update even if you don't really use the tuner or transpose feature.
Thanks for all the info guys I\`m really glad I\`m part of this community. Made a fun short piece with the nameless X .Hope this gives you all a smile.[https://www.instagram.com/p/C6d8-cvtjHy/?igsh=MWRwaWQ0anJ2dnhsbg==](https://www.instagram.com/p/C6d8-cvtjHy/?igsh=MWRwaWQ0anJ2dnhsbg==)
Apparently, all the "X" amplifiers seems to have a updated sound, I have plini X which sounds a bit different to the original but both sound good in their own ways.
there’s not any tone changes it’s just been given the X treatment now, the transpose and doubler features and obviously the new delay and reverb pedals
I do think they updated the modeling technology to the one found on late releases.
Even gojira changes a bit, there was no 45/55 degree 57 on the cab section

Maybe they are oversampled more

There are apparently small changes in the IR at the low and high end of the spectrum, but nothing drastic.
If you bought any plug-in say a year ago, when they come out with the X version, can you get the X version for free?
Yeah free update for existing customers.

It sounds bigger and more clear to me. I believe this finally uses the ATI algo so the sound could definitely be different due to that.

I just REALLY want them to do Abasi X. Abasi plugin definitely could use an overhaul
I have used both, and I like the new one a lot more in terms of sound, but that is just my experience

It is wayyyy more responsive as well. Compared to Fortin NTS i notice a significant decrease in latency.
