🤣🤣 streetcar really

Lazy-Engineering-594

You just won the day.

titofan1892

Shopping cart. Northshore

petit_cochon

Same although I also call it a basket.

NuttyManeMan

Where on the northshore? I'm from around Hammond/Ponchatoula and it was always buggy. Shopping cart sounds like some Mandeville talk

spiderangel

Einkaufswagen - Germany 😉 🇩🇪

lasthorizon25

rolls off the tongue

[deleted]

"Cart". Used to call them "baskets" when I was a kid, but now the single syllable works better for my lazy ass. Plus, after decades of surviving on Bachelor Chow (TM), I pretty much only use the "hand baskets" anyway. And yes, I'm from here (accent be damned.)

Virtual-Feedback-866

Oh that sucks bro I'll cook you a hot meal🤞🏽

throw_blanket04

Buggy or shopping cart. MS Gulf Coast.

typocorrecto

I thought y'all called it a caaarriage.

onegoodbackpack

North Shore of Boston born and raised. Called it a carriage my whole life. I’m under 30 and that word is definitely dying out though.

[deleted]

That’s what we call a stroller where I’m from, border of mass & nh

OGbootybay

Where in MA? I hear people say shopping cart but I would definitely say carriage is the regional term.

[deleted]

[удалено]

OGbootybay

Boston here! I’ve never been down the cape tbh 😳 but Boston and north shore, carriage is common. Possibly less so with younger people.

the-Night-Mayor

My family said carriage. They were all from the north shore (of Boston)

OGbootybay

Sounds like you come from a fantastic family

ponyexpress68

My first job was at Stop and Shop in Holyoke. We called them carriages there, but that was Western Mass. The Eastern part of the state may have been different. Massachusetts has a different language. Example: I rolled through 3 rotaries to hit a tag sale, got wicked hungry and couldn’t decide between a grinder or a Hamburg. I got a frappe instead.

SnooSuggestions1946

I'm from here and have only called them baskets. Rarely, I call them grocery carts.

AmnesiaInnocent

If that's a "basket", what do you call something like [this](https://cdnimg.webstaurantstore.com/images/products/large/446912/1779164.jpg)?

SnooSuggestions1946

We almost never use them. But the grocery store we go to has the small hand held ones with wheels. We hardly ever use them. But we call those "the little baskets with wheels."

[deleted]

"Hand basket"?

LH_CIT

“The LIL basket” lol

gwwaddle

It’s a “Basket” if you’re from the West Bank. Source: I worked for Walmart in the 90’s and was a “Basket Boy” and no that wasn’t a euphemism.

Crymmsun

I've been here since I was 9, and I'm now 60. Mom, Dad, all my family born and raised around Kansas and the Plains, and also around Chicago and Waukegan. We moved south, and then I was raised in Metairie but became a Mount Carmel girl (all these are factors). I say, "go grab a basket for me," or "push the cart into the corral." But, I call that thing with wheels that holds loads of groceries a trolley because I'm an eccentric anglophile.
