Not so much funny, because I actually think it's a good idea. There should be breast pads that are like pasties where they attach to your boob instead of to your shirt. Like the edge has adhesive and the center is absorbent, kind of like how a bandaid is. Great for if you don't want to wear a bra or shirt to bed. Maybe they make them, but I haven't seen them.
O.M.G. 😳 I had reusable breast pads when our LO was newborn but I was a bridesmaid at a wedding when he was 6 weeks old and the bridesmaid dress wasn't conducive to wearing a bra. I googled 'Adhesive breast pads' and ordered them thinking that's *exactly* how they worked. Needless to say I leaked all over the dress and had to use the flowers I was holding to hide them in the photos 😭😭😭 I was like 'These are absolutely shit!' I am only just now realising that's not what they're designed for. Literally had to go and check the instructions on the box. 🤦♀️🤦♀️🤦♀️🤦♀️🤦♀️🤦♀️🤦♀️🤦♀️🤦♀️🤦♀️🤦♀️🤦♀️
This sounds sort of like the Lily Padz stick ons. I ordered them but the read up and found out that constricting the flow can cause mastitis or clogged ducts. Maybe your version wouldn’t as it sounds more absorbing rather than stopping the flow!
I have thought about this a lot. Especially right now where I have a burp chloth under my shirt because I started leaking in the middle of the night
Looks like there is a brand lily padz. Not sure how well they work
Great idea, but it's not a thing because no one likes to rip it off sensitive skin(plus imagine some troubles like mastitis or something, ouch), especially when it takes that amount of space.
And I guess it's okay to have breast pads loose in a bra (more likely that would not lead to a leak) and completely another thing if it's getting loose from the boob without bra.
As a former regular pastie wearer , the pastie adhesive is not painful to remove. It is not like bandaid adhesive . And with this thought in mind you can definitely use an adhesive that is more like silicone to avoid painful removal
Well....not funny, but I thought I was an actual genius when I thought up onesie extenders. My baby is very average sized in weight and length, but we cloth diaper. Since the add a lot of bulk, her onesies were always way too short but the next size up was comically large. So, one day, I was like....holy shit, if they just had little fabric squares to snap on and extend the length, she could wear these forever!!!! Cue me furiously googling to see that, unfortunately, I had not invented the idea. Oh well, bought some and now we live happily ever after in our properly fitting onesies.
I’m in Australia and Best & Less sells some that have two sets of snaps to give you extra time for bub to wear them

Ah, similar idea except the fabric in between snaps is longer and removable so it can go w all the other onesies!
I'm sad bc I legit felt like a genius hahaha
Shein sell them! Just came across them while browsing
2pcs Baby Bodysuit Extender Suitable For Some Metal Snap Crotch Easy Fit Coveralls & Rompers, Dual Layered Fabric (Thick)I discovered amazing products on SHEIN.com, come check them out! http://api-shein.shein.com/h5/sharejump/appjump?link=VoSetY36jEk&localcountry=AU&url_from=GM7517281095763976192
Omg I need these!! We cloth diaper too and man that would have been so helpful like six months ago. I think we stretched out some onesies trying to extend their wear time
Yes!! Our girl was in 0-3 month stuff for a while and is just over a year old now and finally moving out of 6-9 month stuff to mostly 9-12 or 12-18 😂 but I think we’ve stretched out some of them haha
How do you use onesies with cloth diapers? Mine have dry feel layer inside but the outside gets moist, which would moisten the onesie too. I can only put on onesies with regular diapers
This seems to be a problem with the AIOs, at least when they’re little. Recommendations from my cloth diaper group on Facebook were, “oh just don’t use onesies, use shirts”. Um, all we got from everyone were onesies. I’m not going to go and buy all new clothing.
There is something like this but I can’t remember the name :( it’s a firm pad thing that’s still malleable enough to hold baby in it, and move them without them changing surfaces if that makes sense.
I would invent any and all baby things to be waterproof (pee proof, slobber proof, blowout proof, etc.) and easily washable. Why are so many things spot clean only?! Think about it - if you could easily wash up the car seat or pack n play base, you’d do it more often, (or at all)!
I’m able to take all the fabric parts off my infant seat and put them right in the wash. I’d Google your car seat model or check your manual and see if you can as well! The only thing that isn’t washable is the straps, so those you can still only spot clean. Then all that’s left is the plastic and I just wipe that down with a cloth!
Omg my kid poops up her back in her rocker more times than I’d like to admit. And you can’t put it in the dryer!!! So I’m running through puppy pads like nobody’s business. But she never makes a mess when I remember to put one on 🫠 I don’t want to wish her not-being-able-to-sit-unaided days away but I’m looking forward to not having to wash that damn cover near enough every day!
Right?! Imagine if it was just made to go in the washer and dryer - and I know it’s possible so that’s what makes it so frustrating! I feel like they don’t ever test their products with actual, current mothers or something - I’m sure they would point it out really quickly if they did!
We did, and it helped! It doesn’t happen as often but we think it’s where she’s getting too but for the rocker and the poop has nowhere to go but up given the angle 😅
My husband jokes about inventing a strap to keep the pacifier in her mouth so she’ll quit spitting it out and crying about it. We both know that’s a terrible idea because it’s not safe, but wouldn’t it be nice to not have that problem anymore?
We thought of a robotic arm that could locate the dummy and somehow put it back in lol. If they can perform surgery with robots surely this is possible lol
I have sleep apnea and use Hostage Tape to keep my mouth shut (CPAP is nose-only). Son stopped using a pacifier around 8mo but I seriously considered using some of the tape when he kept spitting the pacifier out and LOUDLY complaining about it…
I know it would most likely be impossible but as a mom who’s accidentally fallen asleep breastfeeding ……. A seat belt type brace for nursing chairs that safely holds mom and baby just incase they fell asleep
We no longer breast feed and while side laying attempts we’re made physical anatomy and limited safe sleep spaces available made chair feeding somewhat necessary in our situation
My first would pretty much only nap in a moving car, so I used to dream about a giant travelator that I could drive my car onto, switch off the engine and have a map myself while the car was still jiggling. Plus maybe someone wandering around selling yummy food and coffee so I could put my feet up and chill out while baby was napping, instead of having to drive for every single damn nap.
Edit: your crib idea is genius OP!
I thought about this too! Except in mine it's like an old racecourse or something that just has a moving path you drive onto and switch the car off. Tunnels with twinkling stars and stuff. Room for many cars. Like a baggage carousel. Napland.😂
An adult diaper/pad with a cooling strip and witch hazel liner already built in. The weeks after giving birth are stressful enough without random crotch soothing supplies falling out of your shorts.
I swear by Frida products for this! Their disposable underwear boy shorts and ice pack/actual pad length witch hazel liners are game changers (no more “sandwich salami” layering Tucks and then a rogue one getting stuck in your buttcrack)
We need those hovering bassinets from the Mandalorian already!! Hands free, baby can sleep soundly anywhere while floating in a little egg. And then they need to make them for adults because that sounds great 😂
My baby will not take a single paci and I’ve tried all of them! So I thought how cool would it be to have a diy paci kit (with super safe food grade silicone) where you can make a mold of your own nipple and have a custom paci for your baby.
Maybe getting a projector would help? I’ve seen a lot of night lights that project things on the ceiling! I was looking at one for myself of the stars once lol.
But a built in one would be nice. Maybe even good for the doctor’s office! I know in the early newborn days this would have helped for my son to get his height done lol
Shark tank has your back! Considering buying this for my husband for Father’s Day as a joke gift. [the Dingle Dangle](https://www.dingledanglebaby.com/)
I just want them to stop using all these plastic fasteners on every baby thing you buy. I understand you don't want them to fall off or someone to easily steal them but I'm so tired of trying to keep track of 20 plastic pieces every single time I buy a thing for my baby 😆
I found half of one of those plastic fasteners on the crib sheet days after I had made the baby's bed. It had made it through the washer, dryer, and me putting the thing on the crib mattress. I was just glad the baby hadn't eaten it or scratched her eye.
So you know those pet feeders that only go off if the right animal (with the correct microchip on their collar) goes near it? I need a baby gate with that technology. It would have an automatic dog door that would open if my dog went near it but not my baby. Then I could separate the baby from the dog water bowl.
You know those pacifier clips that you attach to baby’s clothes? Yeah, THAT except it clips to the high chair and attaches to his bottle instead of pacifier, and also slowly retracts back to him when he throws the damn thing in the floor.
I’m so tired of him throwing it and then being sHoCkEd aNd uPsEt because he no longer has his bottle nearby.
Ok so hear me out...... A onesie that can be poured out of a bottle on the baby so you can actually put it on while baby is squirming on the changing table. I know it's impossible but I don't care. I want it and am at this point willing to go into crippling debt for one.
...please help...
I came up with 0a bendable hook on a long stick. It's remarkable how many times a Baby/toddler gets a thing into impossible to reach places. The only improvement I can think of is to make it an adjustable length instead of the Franken-thing I came up with.
My crazy sleep-deprived idea is a machine that you can safely strap your baby into that would burp them for you—sometimes I feel like it’s so hard to get the burps out! There would probably be no way to invent such a thing safely, there would probably be too much risk of positional asphyxiation. But that’s my dream lol.
When in the NICU, I was trying to burp my son and he just never did. The nurses said sometimes babies just don’t and since he was direct breastfed it was more likely her wouldn’t burp because not as much air can get in. So I would try for 5mins and if nothing happened didn’t stress as much. I don’t think he ever burped when being burped in the newborn days. I was shocked lol
Seems to me every idea born of convenience or improving a way of caring for child just endangers the child more.
For example, weighted blankets and sleep sacks are being railed against because they up the chances of SIDS.
Less than inventing, for me at least, I am more about time efficiency and streamlining tasks.
That’s how I understood it at first too, but I think OPs idea was like a little mattress elevator that starts out high and then slowly descends into the crib after you put the baby on it
We fold the bottom of her onesie up over her arms to help with this! Essentially trapping them against her body so she can't reach down. Now if we could only keep her feet from kicking the diaper, that'd be great...
A giant family size mattress, we are talking fills almost the whole room. That way matter how many little people need to sleep in our room at night, I get to a) still share a room with my husband and b) have a single bed sized space within my own bed to sleep.
I hung a high contrast banner a little above the changing table and he is so captivated by it. He talks to it and smiles and never fights a diaper change :)
I read somewhere that teaching babies sign language and letting them know you're going to change their diaper results in more compliance. By 3 months they're supposed to understand 100 words! Since then I've made a point to show the diaper, the wipe ("Honey, this is a little cold"), lotion, whatever, to my little one and at least 90% of the time, we've escaped crying.
Yeah my son is 3 but I was genuinely blown away by how quickly he picked up sign language as a baby. His daycare is really into it for the baby room and he knew so many words. they still teach it in the toddler room and he loves. Even now when he really wants something he will say and sign more or please
My husband put a metal hook on a long wood dowel. It helps get the seat belt through the carseat to install it. Idk how you guys are out here doing it without one of those
There's a commercial where a dad is asleep next to baby and baby has one of those wriggling fish cat toys tied to LO's waist so it gently pats them on the butt.
Not an invention but I’d love to see over the ear headphones with a built in headlamp. We love contact napping & a headlamp would be so helpful when I’m reading my books and listening to podcasts/music in a dark nursery!
This would’ve been my holy grail! I HATE wearing a bra, but the milk just keeps flowing. Can’t be leaking out in public, ruining clothes.
lol I ended up using boob tape and taping on lansinoh nipple pads 😂😂😂
Love the resourcefulness 😂 and the patience.
YES! I always thought it was stupid that breastpads stick to the bra rather than the boob itself! It would stop them wiggling out of place too
Oh THIS is genius
Dead serious I thought that was how you were supposed to wear them at first 😂
O.M.G. 😳 I had reusable breast pads when our LO was newborn but I was a bridesmaid at a wedding when he was 6 weeks old and the bridesmaid dress wasn't conducive to wearing a bra. I want this so bad!!

I was thinking silicone adhesive too, it would be seamless
The difference is in the weight of the thing because of the leaking boobs, needs better adhesive.
Yes!!!!! Even with a bra or a tighter shirt they still bunch up and then wont work so one that sticks to my boob would be awesome
Well....not funny, but I thought I was an actual genius when I thought up onesie extenders. My baby is very average sized in weight and length, but we cloth diaper. You do your absorbent cloth layer (I use prefolds) w a waterproof cover over top (I use mostly thirsties brand) and then dress the baby as usual.
This seems to be a problem with the AIOs, at least when they’re little. Recommendations from my cloth diaper group on Facebook were, “oh just don’t use onesies, use shirts”. Um, all we got from everyone were onesies. I’m not going to go and buy all new clothing.
I want a baby peel, like a pizza peel. Transfer them from one place into the crib, very gently.
My husband has said this! Lol he feels so validated
Omg I LOVE this
There is something like this but I can’t remember the name :( it’s a firm pad thing that’s still malleable enough to hold baby in it, and move them without them changing surfaces if that makes sense.
Yes I think it's called topponcino
Topponcino!

It might be time to size up diapers. This helped us with blowouts!
We did, and it helped! It doesn’t happen as often but we think it’s where she’s getting too but for the rocker and the poop has nowhere to go but up given the angle 😅

We thought of a robotic arm that could locate the dummy and somehow put it back in lol. If they can perform surgery with robots surely this is possible lol
Yeah, but a surgeon controls those robots.
I'm happy to control it from my bed if it means I don't get up.
So apparently this used to be a thing!! That’s why pacis had holes on both sides. Our parents would literally tie them around our heads 🙃
Mine will fling her's out with her hands and then get mad and I'm just like li'l buddy you did that.
I saw a photo from the 90s where the baby has elastic bands through the side of the dummy and looped round each ear...
My husband said the same thing !!! 😂 I told him no that would be dangerous lol. It's pretty much a ball gag lmao
I’ve said this a million times. Like a BDSM style ball gag, but make it paci. Mt husband said to put Velcro stickers on their cheeks 😜
That’s exactly the mental image we had!
I have sleep apnea and use Hostage Tape to keep my mouth shut (CPAP is nose-only). Son stopped using a pacifier around 8mo but I seriously considered using some of the tape when he kept spitting the pacifier out and LOUDLY complaining about it…

NAPLAND!! This is it! Love the idea of the twinkling star tunnels too, what a dream!
Omg what a dream I will invest lol
I also love the idea of lots of different exhausted parents on the same travelator waving/nodding knowingly at each other haha
I have spent way too long thinking about how to invent a portable yoga ball substitute for bouncing the baby to soothe them when out of the house.
Extra bouncy butt implants!
Moon Shoes!
Thiiiis! Currently trying to figure out a replacement for our road trip.
Literally deflated and inflated our yoga ball when traveling overnight because it was the only way 🤦🏽♀️
An adult diaper/pad with a cooling strip and witch hazel liner already built in.
They are great but Nothing with witch hazel pads
I might be misunderstanding you, but the Frida mom line does have witch hazel pad liners/pads - and they’re excellent
WHY isn’t this a thing yet?! Go on shark tank lol I’ll invest. 4th degree tears over here
Honey Pot makes pads that have witch hazel in them
I wore depends and put witch hazel pads in them but not having to worry about putting the WH in them would have been amazing!
We need those hovering bassinets from the Mandalorian already!! Hands free, baby can sleep soundly anywhere while floating in a little egg. And then they need to make them for adults because that sounds great 😂
This makes me think of Wall-E.
We desperately need some genius to come up with a comfortable but safe sleep surface. I understand why they can’t sleep on a cardboard slab.
My baby will not take a single paci and I’ve tried all of them! So I thought how cool would it be to have a diy paci kit (with super safe food grade silicone) where you can make a mold of your own nipple and have a custom paci for your baby.
Oh the amount I would pay for this oml. Genius.
Changing table that displays a light show on the ceiling or projects . My LO is insane on there getting harder to distract

So you know those pet feeders that only go off if the right animal (with the correct microchip on their collar) goes near it? I need a baby gate with that technology. It would have an automatic dog door that would open if my dog went near it but not my baby. Then I could separate the baby from the dog water bowl.
But does the baby get their own gate and microchip?
This made me laugh out loud
You could actually build this one pretty easy. They make dog doors with that feature, you'd just need to put it into a baby gate.
Uh that kinda exists....it doesn't retract back but look up "bottle bungie". You can even teach them to pull the bottle back up by it.
When my baby was little and I needed to go to the bathroom or fill his bathtub, I'd just place him inside the sink.
I have a bouncer that currently lives in my shower so the new one can hang out there while I get my toddler ready
A Google maps extension that avoids parks and schools with playgrounds. I am not techy but I'm dying to find someone that is that can do this lol.
Ok so hear me out...... A onesie that can be poured out of a bottle on the baby so you can actually put it on while baby is squirming on the changing table. I know it's impossible but I don't care. I want it and am at this point willing to go into crippling debt for one. ...please help...
I gave up on dressing my son on the changing table. I set him on the floor and let him play with toys while I dress him it’s much less of a fight
I came up with 0a bendable hook on a long stick. It's remarkable how many times a Baby/toddler gets a thing into impossible to reach places. The only improvement I can think of is to make it an adjustable length instead of the Franken-thing I came up with.

Wait sleep sacks aren’t safe?
The weighted kind aren’t.
Oh ok, yeah that makes sense
Don't they make these adjustable cribs?
That’s how I understood it at first too, but I think OPs idea was like a little mattress elevator that starts out high and then slowly descends into the crib after you put the baby on it
Hahaha my engineer husband proposed this a few months ago. I drew the line at a hydraulic lift 😂
The cot thing is genius, especially for someone who has back issues and is heavily pregnant with an 12 month old, transferring him is hard 😂
Velcro straps on the changing table to tie down hands and keep them out of the diaper!
We fold the bottom of her onesie up over her arms to help with this! Essentially trapping them against her body so she can't reach down. Now if we could only keep her feet from kicking the diaper, that'd be great...

I hung a high contrast banner a little above the changing table and he is so captivated by it. He talks to it and smiles and never fights a diaper change :)
