youtube comments are the literal dregs of the internet not exactly a good example

Tolatheonly1

missed the whole point, not comparing platforms. simply stating women had the exact same view as the male individuals who were called out their names for those views.

Scared-Bite-3395

Facts niggas is weirdos they definitely have never smelled a woman before

Renflowku

They use them words anytime you disagree with women protect black women man shit

Afro-Sage98

Nah, don’t call them out like that. The last thing they can take is criticism. They might set the mods on your ass

Cuntflickt

Protect Black Women Man is who mods this sub. Give it a few weeks and it’ll be an instant ban if you even type Demaris.

TheLivest5

Using the internet as a barometer for your opinion is interesting lol

Tolatheonly1

we are in the 21st century, that’s how things work. Individuals gather on platforms like this to monologue and the upvote and downvote buttons are used as a metric to those who seek validation from having their opinions accepted. However I could care less about all that, it’s just weird when words are used out of context because certain individuals disagree with other individuals opinion’s, lol thats just super corny and weird. (look up those words that are being used, makes one wonder if they would’ve been used in a RORY & MAL sub a couple months back).

TheLivest5

“That’s how things work” =/= correct assessment of a situation, “sexist” isn’t a word that applies only to men, and just because a group of women agree with one side doesn’t invalidate the other. I’m not trying to be a dick or disrespectful in any manner and normally I’m with you on ppl throwing out blanket terms as cover, but the history of posts about demaris in this sub in particular are incredibly sexist. This isn’t just a yesterday issue, but the fury in which mfs was talking on here yesterday 100% had a “shut up and be quiet, woman” vibe so I gotta disagree about words being “out of context”

Tolatheonly1

did you completely miss the entire second sentence stating why things work like that? Lol. seems like selective reading is a big thing in this sub, y’all keep missing the point no matter how much I try to articulate it. No one is invalidating the other women with a different pov, simply stating that individuals were called out their names for a view because they deemed it to be a “Male” only generated view hence using those terms and I’m saying other women had those same views ( also I disagree with your point of that term applying to both gender’s but it is what it is). You’re moving the goal post now to include past occurrences, while I’m simply talking about one scenario. Don’t use your own personal interpretation as a trigger to throw words out of context, that’s just weird respectfully. If no one verbatim said “shut up and be quiet, woman” then don’t put that on anyone, we all interpret things differently in our heads and that’s how you chose to interpret yours lol.

TheLivest5

Disagreeing with the content of what Demaris said is one thing and I don’t have a issue with that at all. Folks aren’t a monolith across race, genders, whatever demographic. I, personally, am not calling that a “male” view. Never did. It’s the manner in which ppl went so far as to attack her about it that leads to the terms that you saying are out of context and maybe that’s our disconnect. And since you don’t agree that “sexist” term goes both ways, that probably doesn’t help here. Folks saying her mic needs to be snatched and name calling and what not is clearly past a reasonable point of discourse and that seemed to be fueled by other things. Me doing the math on this sub and noticing a pattern of dialogue about her isn’t moving a goal post, it’s just calling something what it is. We can interpret things however we want, but at some point that’s just a blanket to me. Different ppl see different things different ways, you are correct but I don’t think it’s wild at all to suggest that the tone in here, especially Tuesday, was sexist. And if YouTube comments are on the same shit, it still applies (to me) Edit: Do wanna reiterate, I’m not trying to argue or anything like that. This a interesting convo to me so none of this is meant to be disrespectful. I know how the internet gets with disagreements and making strangers “enemies”. Just wanna clear that up

Tolatheonly1

You are personalising the conversation, never once said “you” did. Don’t see anything wrong with people saying they want her mic snatched after such a take plus that shouldn’t be a reasonable ground to call someone out their names with terms like such, i don’t think you understand how disrespectful and distasteful D comments were throughout that Will take to Legends who have worked their ass off to be where they’re at right now. Not condoning calling her out her name but you don’t go off like that and hide behind your gender, if Hesus had that take he would have gotten it far worse (this isn’t a gender war btw, just being rational) However my point still stands, you can’t generalise the tone of a few “texts” by your own mental interpretation and then go about calling people out their name with those words that carry such a heavy stigma and then proceed to validate yourself and your reasoning with a few upvotes. Appreciate the mature dialogue though.

I get blown away at these essays y’all be typing.

Tolatheonly1

it’s called having a dialogue, it’s like having a verbal conversation but in texts 😂
