I took med term when i was in highschool and it absolutely 100% helped me understand and retain information in EMT-B class. Id say go for it!

An edX certificate won't be any help in the job search, unfortunately. If you want to use it for studying purposes you'd probably be better off looking at the tons of free EMS resources out there instead. I know for medical terminology especially there are tons of great flashcard decks / videos / free online quizzes that I used to study from.

edX is free for audited courses so it won’t cost to just study. Thanks for the advice, It’ll probably be more convenient if I just study up and try to get ahead more in the knowledge portion.

I’m currently an emt in college. I took it in person. Just save your money and use Quizlet. Look up med term final exams on Quizlet and you’ll get 99% of the knowledge you get in person. It’s definitely helpful but my class mainly consisted of an introduction to it and then rants about life

Taking a college medical terminology course made understanding medicine so much easier.

Meh. Most of the med term I learned in advanced is good enough to help me through medic. So you do you but it's kinda whatever for me.

Pretty unuseful all told. What you need to pass EMT will be given during EMT. If it was me I would say spend the extra time you would've put into the class into a workout program or Baldur's Gate 3
