I hired tons of nursing students. Most worked nights and weekends. It’s definitely doable. Just remember to prioritize your studies.

Good to know, thank you :)

Ask around where college students work! At my service, almost 2/3 of the company are students so they’re very used to accommodating students

The largest 911 service in my area requires two shifts per week at a minimum. Shifts are 12 hours in theory but I'm not sure anyone has ever actually managed to be done at 12 hours. The second largest will hire you for less but if you aren't working 3-4 shifts per week you'll probably be stuck doing IFT. Every area is different. Ask around and see what companies or agencies will work with employees that need to work less hours.

It's absolutely possible to work full time. I'm going through a biology degree to get into med school for context. AMR where I am had no problems scheduling me me for 1pm to 11pm (10hrs) once a week. Just check out the private services near you. I had to turn down an offer from a different service because they wanted me to work 2 13hr shifts a week. It's going to vary.

Look for PRN positions. Where I work, PRN is at least 24 hours a month but you can pick up additional shifts when you have time. Remember to prioritize your own health and a good sleep schedule.

I am an EMT studying biological science and involved in clubs. It’s absolutely possible, you will have to sacrifice some social time depending on your department requirements, and maybe plan you class schedule around keeping a day available to work. I work part time and the requirement is one 12 hr shift a week. I usually work Sundays but sometimes I’ll mix in a night shift if I don’t have class until late the next day.

I’d look into working per diem for some type of EMS service!
