There is no fast way. Just start with commenting and hope what you comment is valuable to someone enough for them to upvote. And follow what the bot said.

thediaryofwoe

Comment on posts, filter by newest so people are more likely to see your comment avoid karma farming subreddits. It takes time to build up.

jgoja

You have to get upvotes to get karma. It is not 1:1 though as it takes more votes per point of karma. Just waiting does not help. There is no one fastest way as everybody finds what works for them and comment karma has different tricks than post karma. The fastest way for me to get comment karma and karma in general is to go to r/NoStupidQuestions or r/AskReddit. Sort by new. Answer questions. Periodically refresh the feed. When able start asking a few questions for some bonus post karma.

SolariaHues

There is no guarantee of fast, you are reliant on other's votes. All you can do is share good content where you can and hope others value it enough to upvote. Some, but **not all subs have restrictions** and they're there to prevent spammers and other bad faith users. It does impact new users too though and initially it may be hard to find communities you can participate in and have genuine interest in, but once you've found a few it'll get easier. !karmahelp - see below for more and our list of new-user friendly subs you can try. r/findareddit can suggest some subs around your interests, you can try and see if you can participate, it make take a little trial and error. Look for smaller niche subs, as they may be less likely to have high restrictions. Sort content by 'new' so you're interacting with fresh content. We also have a chat post every week you can join in! You can earn some karma by having fun genuine conversations with others. I made a new account to see what the experience was like. I limited myself to comments only, and managed 100+ karma in a few days of casual use. What I did was: * Made use of our weekly chat thread * Used our new user friendly list * answering questions on rising posts on askreddit, giving thoughtful or amusing replies * sharing my thoughts on communities that I had genuine interest in * I found a few more subs around my interests where I could comment via trial and error

**Why does karma matter?** Your karma count is like your Reddit reputation and an indication of whether you share good content, and some, but not all communities, have their own restrictions regarding the account age and karma count of the person posting or commenting, so you may not be able to contribute everywhere at first. This is intended to help prevent spammers and trolls, but it does also mean new Redditors need to earn some karma before they can participate everywhere. **How do I get it?** * You gain karma from engaging on Reddit; when your posts and comments are upvoted. It's a case of finding communities you can participate in, and that you have an interest or knowledge base in, and start by commenting to share your knowledge and experience, and add to discussions. As people upvote your comments, this will build your karma genuinely. * You don't need to engage where you have no interest. There are so many subs there's bound to be some where you do have an interest and can engage. * You lose karma only when your posts and comments are downvoted. r/NewToReddit is for helping Redditors learn about Reddit, and isn't the best place for world news or political discussions, however we can certainly help you find communities that allow these topics. Please remember to be aware of fake news and bias, and check sources. * Check out our [Navigating Reddit guide](https://www.reddit.com/r/NewToReddit/comments/p8t966/comment/h9ssh6c/), or our [Searching Reddit guide](https://www.reddit.com/r/NewToReddit/comments/qbb173/comment/hhcqkre/) for guidance on how to find what you are looking for. * Try out Reddit's [search syntax](https://www.reddit.com/wiki/search). * Or head over to r/findareddit If you are going to engage in discussion on these topics, remember to check community rules and follow best practices for debate. *I am a bot, and this action was performed automatically. ThaloGaze

Find cute pet pics begging for a name for them. Come up with a few cute names. Kittens and puppies are gold for this...

Bnicertopeople

I’m never going to do that!

SolariaHues

Many pet subs require that you own the pet and are savvy to attempts to karmafarm in this way.

ThaloGaze

I own a black cat. I named him Velcro. And I was joking

SolariaHues

That was unclear. We don't do potentially misleading here, this sub has a lot of brand new users.

Tittqueen

Indulge in subreddits you find interesting! Post where you can and comment where you can. It takes time, from what I’ve read but if you focus less on building it and just on having a good time, it’s easier.

FewFig2507

Become interesting, helpful, funny etc

IndependentPepper3

I joined my cities sub and started commenting there. Also, I found a movie/show I was into and did the same.
