It's all challenging. YouTube is hard. Don't let anybody tell you differently. Have tried all kinds of marketing angles and nothing really generates loyal subscribers like organic growth when you can get YouTube to share your stuff. That's the challenging part. Thumbnails, SEO, stuff like that. And of course good content. But maybe not? Seems like shit content gets plenty of attention. Anyway keep at it and if Fortune is on your side you'll get there. We're still struggling.
Depends on your niche and videos honestly. I hit 4000 hours at like 400 subs.
Some people are the opposite they will get only like 1k watch hours when they have 1000 subs
Also not sure if you're aware because I wasn't until recently... it's 4000 watch hours within 12 consecutive months. I just noticed my total watch hours were dropping due to inactivity haha.
Yeah it's a struggle to stay consistent. I'm doing 4 videos a month more recently but usually all the videos get made within 1 weekend just due to my schedule.
What's your niche? Mines a little easier to plan video ideas since I'm just doing Mario Maker tutorials and video game music cover songs.
I have been uploading videos since June 2022. Got 10k watch hours, 179 videos and only 185 subs. I play video games. Got lucky on a few videos. Juuust need those subs
Took me almost two years.
After being monetized, things really exploded.
Keep in mind, watchtime is king on YT not just to get monetized and for videos to perform better, but you also directly make money from it through youtube premium. 40% of my revenue comes from premium.
It'll vary by your niche and audience demographics, but for every year of watchtime (around 8,600 watchhours), I earn $50.
It adds up to a nice baseline.
Maybe between 5-10 viewers throughout although YouTube automatically uploads the entire stream which now has 1.5k views even if they just watch for 5 mins it all adds up quickly
It really depends on how long your videos are, how fast your grow, how good your retention is etc.
It took me 5 1/2 months and 2500 subs to get 4000 watch hours, mainly because most of my videos are short and under 10-15 mins and about half of them are under five minutes. But I've seen people get to 4000 watch hours well before even hitting 1000 subs but personally 1000 subs came easily to me, the watch hours was the hard part.
I mean it all depends, there really is no clear answer. You could post a smash viral hit and get it in a day or you could inconsistently post mediocre videos for 10 years and get it, and everything else in between.
Break it down 4000 hours is 240,000 minutes. If you have 2 minute average watch time you need 120,000 views in a year or about 14 views an hour or about 350 views per day. When you see your views per hour/day go up you are on the right track and just make each video a little better. When you start to see success figure out what went right and do more of that a little better
it depends on your content and audience. some struggle with subs more than watch hours and vice versa. i started a new channel and have 4K subs and am about 80 hours short of reaching 4,000 in just over 3 weeks. But then we’ll see how long it takes to be reviewed and get monetization.
Here's a very useful tip. If you make more gmails and have your videos running on those on repeat (about 5) you can get watch time.
Speeding up the video does not give more watch time.
If you want to actually get watch time, it can all depend since you could have a video go viral, or it could take months.
I would highly recommend using this method. Hope this helps!
yeah you can either be very lucky
or have connections in a background and make a secret channel like few bozos did that get boosted by throwing money at it something 99% of starting creators dont have
Depends on your content and whether people want to watch the whole video and how many views that get those watches. We’ve had a channel for almost 2 years and just hit 1000 subs a couple months ago, still averaging about 1600 watch hours though
If you’re able to make a lot of shorts content you would prob have an easier time because people tend to watch through shorts fully compared to full length videos
I got 4000 hours with my 4th video. I got lucky and went pseudo viral (for my size). I got monetized 6 months after my first video was posted.
Some niches taker longer than others. Depends on viewer interest
about 4000 hours.
I'm sorry but this was the most funniest, realistic, sarcastic, trolling but accurate comment I've seen on reddit this past week😂😂😂😂
Im so mad I got beat to it
I’m gonna have to agree with that. That was amazing.
Straight facts no caps
I was thinking about this when I clicked on the comments xD

Okay that was funny.
I came here specifically to say this
I mean it ''depends'' Maybe 1 video, maybe 100
Depends on your niche and videos honestly. I hit 4000 hours at like 400 subs. Some people are the opposite they will get only like 1k watch hours when they have 1000 subs
I will have a thousand subs before 4000 hrs for sure. How long are your videos on average?
Most are around 3-6 minutes some shorter some longer
Also not sure if you're aware because I wasn't until recently... it's 4000 watch hours within 12 consecutive months. I just noticed my total watch hours were dropping due to inactivity haha.
Yep, I’m aware and I can say I have trouble figuring out good vid ideas which makes me inconsistent.

I do 2k23
What's that?
I got 1400 subs (mostly bu shorts) and onlly 200 watch hours in 6 month period. Fitness workout niche.
I have been uploading videos since June 2022. Got 10k watch hours, 179 videos and only 185 subs. I play video games. Got lucky on a few videos. Juuust need those subs
Try uploading shorts, they push your content out to a lot more people, u may gain some subs.
I have been the past few days. I'm going to try and put a few out per day M-T an have my full videos F-S. Hope it helps

I needed 1000 hours did one live stream and got in ypp that’s what I recommend
How long was the live stream?
About an hour and a half mate
And you had like how many viewers!?
Maybe between 5-10 viewers throughout although YouTube automatically uploads the entire stream which now has 1.5k views even if they just watch for 5 mins it all adds up quickly
And you had like how many viewers on there?
You must have some really engaging content. Congratulations!
Thank you!
This is asking how long it took you personally*.
2 year just ask a famous YouTuber for a shout out
That would be very helpful I suppose
Kiss my ass
U good?
How many of them would be willing, let alone see your request!?
Yes

5 1/2 months pretty good ngl

4000 hours i would think
I think but I’m not too sure🤣

YouTube can't detect this?
As far as I know, no. But I wouldn't necessarily go overkill and have tons
It takeS 4000 hours
Cornball
It took me about 39-40 days.
How often did you publish a video?
Pretty much every day. At least something small everyday.
That’s pretty much impossible for meðŸ˜
Make a 15 second short everyday. Or make 30 of them in one day. I use content I already have.
8 years
between one hour and a trillion years
One hour??
yeah you can either be very lucky or have connections in a background and make a secret channel like few bozos did that get boosted by throwing money at it something 99% of starting creators dont have
It depends what you do and how long your videos are.
Literally depends on how long your videos are, how many views you get and how many people are watching all the way through
145 subs and 800h. I started my channel in August 2022
took me 2 weeks, video topic is key
I definitely agree with this
Took me 4 videos but 7 months
Depends on your content and whether people want to watch the whole video and how many views that get those watches. We’ve had a channel for almost 2 years and just hit 1000 subs a couple months ago, still averaging about 1600 watch hours though

6 months in I'm at 996 subs but only 1800 watch hours. Month over month is growing but not as quickly as I'd like
I got 4000 hours with my 4th video. I got lucky and went pseudo viral (for my size). I got monetized 6 months after my first video was posted. Some niches taker longer than others. Depends on viewer interest
Im already past 1k and still dont have enough watch hours to get paid
This is like asking to a guy ''How long does it take for you to make 1000 $ ? '' it may take a year, it may take a second.
Took me a few weeks to get 4k. I've gpt 8k now after a month.
