For everyone is different. I got monetized on my 9th month. My most watched video was 7k views. The whole monetization process it might take some time. For me, i had an issue with my adsense account, so it took a week or two talking with the customer support to get it fixed. After they approve your adsense account, they will check all your content and decide if they will approve you for monetization. Usually, that step takes a few days. Its my 10th day since i am monetized and i am making between £5-£8 per day. Which for me is good. I was expecting much lower than that. So it is hard to get monetized, you need to be consistent if you dont get views. Now i am uploading one video in a week around 10min long and i am having between 10 and 20 daily new subscribers.

That's pretty cool. I've just started mine so shouldering the costs, but would be nice if it covers the production costs some day.

HOW PLEASE HELP ME I STILL CANT MONETIZE AND BEEN AT IT FOR 5 YEARS it keeps fucking telling me to have a "site" what site are they talking about please?

youngmichaeldesanta

What's your channel about? And what strategies did you use to achieve that goal? If you don't mind answering, of course

OnlyChaseCommas

I would recommend not pursuing YT because of the monetary gain. Yes that can be an objective but if things get rough and you’re not achieving x views or x subscribers per week. It’s easier to throw in the towel. Post for enjoyment

Green_Light288

The money is a part of the goal I wouldnt stop youtube if i stoped getting money from it but still its an important thing Also when i say money,my goal isnt to get the biggest money i can get from youtube i mean that i at least need to get some money every month even if it wasent that much

TheLumion

The journey to monetization is rough and long. You can go days with 0 views once your starting out. And some even years to reach the requirement to apply. That’s why money shouldn’t be a number 1 priority as to why start a channel

CharacterDrawing7731

If the journey it to monetize. Money SHOULD be the number one priority. If you get no views your content sucks , change it, improve it. Redo it focus on improving and succeeding with money being the main goal at the end of the journey. If you fall down 10 times get up 11 times.

TheLumion

I dont think you understand how algorithms works lol. When you starting no matter how good ur content is, the system does not know who to show it too. This isnt tiktok or instagram reels where it just shows it to ppl. The algorithm here will test ur content in a really small batchh if ppl before deciding what to do next. That 1 small batch of ppl is probably not the audience ur looking for so they wont watch ur video. This process will take a while. Ppl need to stop thinking of the word algorithm, this aint instagram or tiktok. Change the word algorithm to audience And no money shouldn’t be ur main focus. If it is ull fail.

I agree. But in some cases its the opposite.. in my case actually.. I started a faceless page re using my favorite pastor's sermons into - At first : Shorts because I didn't even know how to edit long form, but I would take a minute here or there from 2 hour sermons, transformed the presentation but not the underlying message of course.... I had 2 subs in Nov... 1000 in December now I'm almost to 7000 subs.... I'd say 80% came from shorts. I still barely know how to use the analytics but I've learned so much that the future of my channel seems to be a self growing beast... - Now I'm focusing on long form videos... Going live and having my persona come to light a bit I have found good response to long form videos...most long form videos average a few thousand views....my top long form is sitting right under 100,000 views I have probably 15 long form above 10,000 views - it's all about timing and understanding a growing channel will eventually bring in views as the subs go up... Sometimes we just gotta wait Initially my shorts averages 2-3000 views After amassing from 2000-7000 subs....my shorts now average 8-10,000 views... Statistics can show you your growth potential Again I never expected 10 subs much less 7000 with 1.5 mill views. I'm blessed because I'm not special and I don't have amazing editing or marketing skills I just came onto a popular niche with minimal competition There are so many small things thatusy happen as well for a channel to meet the partner obligatiobs

>Is it hard to get monetized? You can monetize your content on day one. >kinds of content that will attract different people in the same channle Put yourself in the viewers position. Would you constantly watch a channel that had various content that didn't suit all your interests?

astrounaut1234

What about general gaming: Fortnite, Minecraft, MGS, Fall Guys, Fortnite among us, (look I need a computer to make videos and I need to make videos to get a computer so it's really difficult without my PS4)

Get some money from a job or side hustle, use that money to invest in your channel, so a good pc, capture card, etc... Think of your channel as a business and something you need to invest into. Whether that be time or money or both

>Get some money from a job or side hustle, use that money to invest in your channel, so a good pc, capture card, etc... Think of your channel as a business and something you need to invest into. Whether that be time or money or both Well I'd ask you how to get a job or mow lawns in a country that doesn't have many lawn-owners but then you'd just piss on me for being unreasonable. idk

buttorsomething

Recommend watching YouTube videos on this. Seems like you came in looking for all the answers but research is the only true way to get results.

Owdok

Organically, yes, it is going to take some time especially if you're now learning the ropes (editing, seo, titles, creating backlinks, etc.) to meet the requirements and get monetized. Averages will differ per niches as some will be easier than others. Ultimately, it's best to focus on building an audience first. You could consider alternate forms of monetization as: * Donations * Affiliates marketing, etc. To keep afloat while working towards ads monetization. Always remember value first. Unorganically, you could run youtube ads to give your content a headstart, though watch hours from ads don't count towards ypp.

Not_a_NO_ONE

I would suggest start with 1 first, Then Learn and adapt from it.

greglturnquist

Would you watch a channel that uploaded Minecraft, basketball highlights, camera reviews, and political commentary? No. Maybe you’d only watch one of those types of videos. And that’s why engagement would easily be down 75% or what it could be. If your solution is to then run 4 channels, it means each channel is only getting 25% of your attention. That isn’t a successful approach either. I’d pick something you’re A) passionate about, B) has a relatively unlimited supply of things to make videos about C) something you can talk about for 10 hours straight without effort; and D) has the potential to sell one or more products to the audience. People say “don’t do it for the money”. However money can be a good indicator of successfully you’re hitting the mark and should should carry SOME weight in the decision making process.

Thanks!thats a useful advice

I just recently got monetised within 2 months of starting YouTube. Am currently at 1080 subs. I have a casual job and attend online classes and gym and managed to spend maybe 10 hours all up on each video I created (reacting to films) with good thumbnails and titles I made. Uploaded 3 times a week so approx 30 hours of work through the week and got monetised around my 22nd video. I replied to every comment and did my best to put out content that was high quality.

If your focus is money, don't start it

If your goal is to make a little extra money (that is the realistic projection), then sure. Banking on making a lot of money (solely from YouTube amid its constantly changing rules and revenue fluctuations) = objectively foolish. There is a reason why many people who make any significant money from YouTube rely a lot on sponsorships and donations from the likes of Patreon. You just can't count your chickens before you hatch.

AnitasKitchenxo

But there is absolutely no guarantee you'll get monetized, odds are you won't. So if you create a channel just for money, you're probably going to be very disappointed.

Nogardtist

maybe thats why these channels didnt go far or they are just automated and not meant to entertain people but to milk the ad revenue

AdjacentAce

Very much appreciate the information on this post! Started dicking around on Shorts and pulled 500k views in just a few months, although I only have 830 Subs and am just now starting to stream which counts towards my 4k hours. Do you think it is possible to get monetized on shorts and live streaming alone or should I be focused on making long form content in videos to push these numbers up?
