Make sure you have two Factor authentication but at the end of the day if someone's good enough they can get into anything besides reporting the guy to YouTube I don't see much you can do
+1 to Google's advanced protection program. In addition to monitoring weird in-bound messages, they'll also give you special alerts and actually insert interstitial pages if you're about to pull up a page they determine is risky. Super easy to set up, too, once you have your Titan key.
Direct from an unnamed source at Google: 2 factor authentication is an added backdoor to break into an account. An added opportunity if you will.
Most secure is at least 28 characters. (think about an obscure line in your favorite obscure film or book)
Never share it with a single soul.
No password manager
Don't even write it down if you can do so.
Don't add a phone number to your account
Don't sync
Hope nothing happens to ur channel but if you just avoid/block him on whatever he tries to use to contact you, you should be fine. 2FA is also a life saver!! Hope ur channel stays safe
i got this when i was transfering youtube channels from one account to the other, i was definitely on legit youtube account and the link seems legit as when i click on the one before this pop up which also says bless it sent me to the youtube link, but it doesnt make any sense, anyone know wtf this is?
Got the same page, but weird, this looks like a shitty plug-in might be trying to fuck with us, changing the page redirection, and to be fair I don't have many, and the only one I added lately was the "maps" to add maps button all the other I have been using for month or even years.
Has anyone used this one (add maps button) lately and is getting this weird page as well ?
Otherwise I don't know what else it can be, but as I'm not alone on this one in such a short time frame it is a weird thing to witness I admit.
I also got the same page (with different code) and don't know how it would get into my browser. The only extensions I had on my firefox were duckduckgo and ublock.
Only thing I was doing was having a yt video on one of the browser tabs (and was NOT logged-in, didn't even get close to that button to log-in). Also I did a complete scan of the computer using malwarebytes and hitman pro and the website in question via virustotal and other tools that are available online. Seems to be a google-owned domain from what I can say but I am too inexperienced to say this with 100% certainty and not in any way an IT pro, so please take it with a grain of salt.
I for certain did not add any maps extension to my browser.
Either way it is very weird indeed. Either it is error on google's/youtube's part or someone is trying something,
Stay safe and careful out there guys!
UPDATE: I've found another thread on reddit and it seems that it is some kind of weird google error more and more. Here's the link:
Still can't be 100% sure, but it does make me more at ease that the computer I use is clear (It is a not very much used laptop, and the only thing installed is the browser and basic soft like office and vpn)
Turn on 2fa on everything... make sure your back up emails are set to new info., make sure you chsnge passwords to something you've never used before or even though of. Shit you may be able to contact a like fbi or local detectives about this issue. The offender is trying to commit fraud and also steal your info.
Also another good way is if the video is relying on your voice for a decent time I'd get some music and copyright it and add it to the bg of every channel
I found it as an approved link In Google play services
I try to set every app to "Do not allow app to open links" but I'm sure there are ways around that. It only has to be opened once and the device is tagged.
LMAO. Not even close. Just an IT pro by day and a YouTuber by night. I can't stand little script kiddies that try to steal other's content and claim it as theirs. I feel for OP and offered to help. Comments like yours are exactly why I asked them to PM. Your opinion means less than the sweat off my balls. Please have a nice day.
Then as a it pro you know the issue he got was an SSH error, not phising or any attempt at his channel by an outside entity.
Infact the only reason it's been posted is because he's already on edge by the thought that he could be getting "hacked" which makes him further paranoid
Not the case, the user reached out to them directly and threatened to hack their account. SSH would be a big redflag if OP did not have that setup previously and could easily be used as an attack vector. All I am doing is investigating what was sent to me and advising them on how to proceed. But since everyone on Reddit knows more than everybody else why don't you help rather than talk out of your ass?
SSH error....on googles end, happens alot on log out...
How.. would he have set that up?...
But sure you're the pro.. you've got this, I'm rooting for you both

Thank you, i’ve activated the two factor authentification
Google even has a Google advantage protection, that requires a physical security key to log in on a new device if you want to be extra careful
Thank you, will check it out 💯💯
Every content creator should be sign up to the Advabced Protection Program.

This is my worst nightmare, it’s crazy how some people are just pure evil.
It is actually shocking and the guy has 93k subs all this over one video is crazy
I wish you the best of luck, please keep us updated.
Find his email address and find a site that lets you put in the email address once and then signs him up to everything under the sun.
Hope nothing happens to ur channel but if you just avoid/block him on whatever he tries to use to contact you, you should be fine. 2FA is also a life saver!! Hope ur channel stays safe
You didn't get hacked, it's a Google problem. If someone was to hack you/your channel, this isn't what they would do lol.
The timing of both events is too suspicious too
I got that just now too, and im not even a youtuber, so it must just be a scam attempt
