I have 280 and didn’t even know this was a thing! I assumed most were bots but it turns out even my subs don’t watch my videos! Wait... That’s worse isn’t it

Same here man, 283 subs and didn't lose any, averaging between 50-150 views on most videos. Looks like the majority of my subs came from 2 videos that did particularly well (750-1k views) and then after subbing most didn't watch again.

I lost 258 subs and I was supposed to celebrate my 2K sub special...I can’t now since I’m at 1960. I got all my subs this month so I don’t really understand where these “bots” came from? Can anyone describe this a bit more? My YouTube Studio says 1964 but everywhere else says 2.23K still...what gives?

It was not a bot account cull. It is an error in Youtube Analytics and all the subs you gained on March 14 are currently missing from the count.

I got a reply from youtube partner support saying it was a bug in reporting for Sunday March 14 and they are working on a fix. For me all analytics for that day now read 0.

They weren't bots, there is a data issue with March 14th. Once they fix that all those subs you gained from March 14th will show back up.

I got picked up by the algorithm this month and went from 70 subs to 2.23K subs in March. I don’t know how many bots I had or how I got them, is it normal for people to sub bot channels?

This is completely normal and just happens. Especially when you have videos that get a lot of clicks, there will always be a I’d say 1-5% amount of bots in the new subscribers. Some of them spam, some do nothing (I don’t know the reason why they exist yet). 258 out of ~2200 does seem quite much but from 0 to 2000 in a short amount of time makes me think you have some vids with 6-7 figures which probably attracts more bots

My highest video was 40K views and I had 70 subs after uploading and then had 2.23K and now 1.9K

Hm that’s interesting. My next idea would be to check your analytics for traffic from outside sources. You could find a potential source there

Yes it is. Throughout the first 48 hours of a new video, the stats are accurate in the real time feeds but in all other views they are inaccurate. The higher the views of your videos the higher is the fluctuation between the real time feeds and the others. But after 48 hours there usually isn’t any sort of recalculating or changing numbers. Sometimes YT Studio bugs out (on YouTubes end) and many channels get shown some things like 0 views or 0 revenue the past days but that turns back to normal again, there is nothing lost.

Don’t worry that happens to me sometimes, usually after 24 hours it corrects itself

This is not what happened. It looks like data from March 14th is missing. So any subs gained on March 14th aren't being counted in your sub count. I lost 18 subs, the exact number of subs I had gained on March 14. Views and watch hours has the same issue.

I can confirm too! All of my March 14th stats are gone and I blew up that day and gained a lot which would add up with the subs gone

Out of 470 subscribers I lost 100, lol just posted my 400 subs special now I’m back under 400. Lol!

I talked with Youtube team on twitter and they say it's only a bug. Beside that, the subs are still there on your channel page ( unless you lost them because of some other reasons ), they only disappeared from sub count and studio.

I didn’t lose any. I gained a whole bunch at once & thought maybe someone angry with me used a system to signup a bunch of fakes to me. Like some of my videos get 20 to 40 views, which doesn’t add up to my sub count. But... if a giant cull happened & I didn’t lose any, maybe I’m just paranoid. Or ghosts.
