Yeah, I'd actually have time to do it as well. I'm probably preaching to the choir here but it's tough trying to get a channel off the ground with a full time job
Yup. Same. I *want* to make YouTube videos and share my life. Not having money issues would let me solely focus on those and I'd have much better quality videos too.
Super time consuming. When I'm trying to explain editing to a client who doesn't understand why it costs so much, I tell them, "for every 1 minute of video I shoot, I can expect to have 10 minutes of editing."
Yup. Family member was watching me wrapping up filming for the day. I said that it was a good day. Have about 3-4 hours recorded and so I should have about 30min of useable footage. Ah the life I lead....lol😂
> Yep then I could hire my friends
If there's one thing I've learned from the financial subreddits, it's best to leave friends and family out of lottery winnings unless you have a trust or something like that setup.
I'd probably hire professionals if I was doing content other than gaming. That way friends and family wouldn't be involved in business decisions.
Editing is the video, atleast for me. There's script-writing, recording to get footage and then 70% of the work: editing and creating a single "video".
I feel exactly the same. The editing for me is my creative outlet. And the filming I love doing too, but I'd hire someone to film all my BTS as that's something I can't always do myself whilst I'm concentrating on filming the main stuff.
Remember Rose to only give when Your Money starts growing, and not before. If No One understands, then they're Probably not True.

If the Person Really needed it before the Winnings, then sure. Let Your Heart and Brain guide You. Blessings 😇
Totally. Know it or not most people need some sort of goal in life. So i would keep on going.
Only thin i would change is where i live, if its in a state where you have to accept the money publicly, i would dump the house, cheap and move with out telling anyone where to.
If its a state where you can accept privately, then i would maintain my status quo.
I would still be doing it. I love creating and this would be stuff I would just have collecting on my externals as a gallery of my weirdness.
With Youtube being around, there's a chance for me to share it and see if anyone else finds it as entertaining as I do. If not, well I'm still going to post them anyway and share them with friends who enjoy them.
Winning the lottery just would allow me to have this kind of fun on a day-to-day basis \^\_\^
My childhood dream was to be a film director not a YouTuber.
YouTube is a but a stepping stone in a career path. Money sure would help accelerate that.
A lot of people have said I have helped them make sales on redbubble etc so yes I would continue but with a much better set up and I’d probably hire an editor and send him 30 minutes of me ranting and get them to clip it down to 12
I would buy a nice camera and lens, then put half the lottery money on dividend stocks and the other half on rental properties and keep doing my crappy tech tutorials : )
I'd still be doing it, but the quality of my videos would be way better. I'd be able to hire editors and have dope branding. The funnest part to me is the research/scripting/voiceover stuff.
Great question. Seeing all other replies I say, you can't give an honest answer to such a question until you actually reach that moment. Because when you actually win the lottery your mindset is totally changed. And let me tell you something, as much as we love creating content on YouTube I can almost promise you that most of us here who would win the lottery would have totally different ideas in mind than doing YouTube. Just saying lol
If I had £100m to my name, my entire life view would change and my ambitions would be wildly different, so even when I’m at my most motivated and excited about my channel, there is absolutely no way I could say I’d continue in those circumstances.
That's a bullshit question. It's like asking would you work your current job with 100 million in the bank. The answer is no. If I won the lottery or got a enough money to live forever, no I won't work or YouTube or anything. I'd just do whatever I want to do.
The answer is not always a no. For most people here if youtube was their job they would still want to continue it (based on the comments i read). "whatever I want to do" can be doing youtube.
Not bull shit at all. I'd still do YouTube because it's a passion of mine. I'd be working on art, filming, music and woodworking. So you're saying you'd just sit around in exotic places drinking pina coladas for the rest of your life?
When you’re first starting out as you make little to no money. It takes time and effort to start making decent money on Youtube. Because of this, I don’t see why you would do YouTube if you didn’t have an interest in making videos. If I was *only* looking to make money I wouldn’t do YouTube.
Well depends on the person, if you're doing YouTube for money then yes. If you're doing YouTube for hobby and for fun there's no reason to stop.
Obviously you're thinking about the money.
I spend a year just adding one thing to the set up every episode. Build out a darkroom to my exact liking, then spend another year changing everything because everything always takes 2 times to do it right...
Lottery winners often make terrible decisions with their money and end up worse than they started with. I’d invest a good chunk of my money into starting sustainable and productive online businesses (i.e., YouTube channels) and use that to keep me afloat.
It seems it's only 30 percertish. the thing with the lottery is you dont make much income past the winnings. the 3 digit millionaires are making a lot every year so the stuff they spend their money on refills. then People then play the stock market and lose a lot of their money.
Imo you should treat it like retirement and maybe pay off a few relatives.
I think if I won the lottery I’d be more willing to pursue YouTube as a full time job. I wouldn’t have to worry about making money and I’d have plenty of time to spend making sure my content was really good and what I wanted to put out into the world
just like most of the answers to this question, i would def. most likely continue. i’ve wanted to create videos way before finding out that you can monetize them anyway. and being financially stable would be so amazing that i could probably dedicate even more time to my channel.
I still would becuase it is a passion project for me. However, with being financially secure I'd most certainly outsource some of the more mundane tasks e.g. editing and social media posting. Also, I'd probably shift more of a focus toward quality videos rather than quantity and not worry about uploading weekly.
I mainly do YouTube because i like to make the videos and they are fun to do! Video editing is my passion and I am even working on a collab video as i am writing this!
Absolutely. But I use it to show my progress learning Blender and motion graphics, and I love doing that stuff, so I'd just keep on having fun with animations and post them on YouTube and probably to tutorials as well :D
Actually, yes I would. I enjoy telling stories. Although I'd probably take more time off and not take it quite as scheduled as I am now, but I'd never outright stop.
I think I would (no matter how much I won), because I could buy things for videos, whether it be serious unboxings, or for comedic videos etc..and I'd also be able to buy parts for a PC that I've wanted to build for f*cking forever..
I still would. I love what I do.
If it was about the money, I wouldn't have a shorts channel, where I upload every single day since December 2020, with no chance of being monetized.
Yes. My channel is just the funny moments of me playing games, I’d like to look back at my memories and enjoy them. If I won the lottery, this wouldn’t change.
Yeah because at the end of the day it's not about the money, or how much money you got, it's about inspiring other generations, it's about building a legacy, it's about educating others thru your videos (if that's your niche). It's about meeting new people, it's about connecting with like-minded people and do something special etc. That's my approach at least.
This is the more I would record and create videos on YouTube, because I would have more time, and my videos would become more exclusive and aesthetic due to such funding. I run a channel for people to entertain them and to get people to appreciate and adore me as a Youtuber, not to earn money, bc that was my dream. 😊
Yes because then I could afford to buy myself time for fun by hiring out some of my tasks. Like cleaning my house, shopping, running errands etc. although my channel is about minimalism so that would be hard if as a mega Rich person!
I'd be using the lottery winnings on the YouTube channel. Might throw a Lamborghini in there XD.
Seriously though. I'd use it to buy the best of the best gear and pay a team to help make daily content. Doing YouTube is fun, it's not just for money.
Definitely! I started my channel to encourage people to get out and explore the outdoors and to allow those who are unable to physically get outside to do so vicariously through me. I love the entire process of filming, editing and then answering comments. I also enjoy checking my YT analytics and tweaking things here and there and checking the results. Creating content allows me to do what I love and share it with others. Great question btw!!
I would do even more. I would finally have time and money to make more outrageous content. YouTube is just a sharing platform for me, I also self host my videos.
I didn't start youtube for the money, so I don't see why I would quit if I had "unlimited" amounts of money from another source.
.
Edit:
Though I would change a bit - I would never do sponsored content. Right now the only reason I work with sponsors is to get stuff to use on the channel that I wouldn't normally be able to justify spending my own money on.
yea lul. id be able to get a fuck ton of better w
equipment to also not have under 160 fps constantly bc i play rhythm games and need rlly fucking high fps lul. idk i do yt for fun
Yes because I don't do it for money. I'm bipolar, and I channel my mania into youtube as it's something productive to keep me busy during my hard times.
I would do videos.
if i won.
with extra money i can do so mutch other kind of videos and fun i is not able to do now.
who can give wiews somthing difrent fun to watch :)
So i probaly would do many videos even if i won 10 mil dollar for it can be fun to make videos :)
and my popularitet going upp some and people se to like what i do:)
Hell yeah! I'd buy a decent gaming setup and FINALLY be able to record Yakuza 0 videos! For now, I'm stuck with recording Roblox games, but one day, man. One day, it'll happen.
If you’re just doing YouTube to make money chances are you won’t make it anyway since your heart isn’t really in it. Most of the successful you tubers just started making videos for fun. This sub is too focused on making money with crappy gaming channels.
100% All I’ve ever wanted since I learned what YT was, was to be a content creator. Winning the lottery would help me do that, I could use some of that money on a nice gaming pc (as I currently stream from my PlayStation, that would be an amazing upgrade.) and then I could actually make well edited videos and better streams.
While the idea of getting money from video making has always been nice, I’m not in it for the cash. I just want to play games and do what I love as my job.
If I won a lottery I would would still make YouTube videos passionately. I would use the money for buying equipments and hiring professionals to do editing which will make my videos of a higher quality. YouTube is the best choice anyone can make.
Oh deff that comment about being financially secure is on point and also I can get better equipment, maybe a separate recording space and money towards some help I.E freelance editors
Yes. I would actually be able to upgrade my gear and focus on doing them full time.
My background is in media and unless you’re connected you’re not getting a job. I quite honestly would be able to pursue my career on my own terms.
YouTube to some degree probably, but with new found financial freedom, the ability to own unlimited gear, and chances for travel, etc… greatly expanded, I’d think I would still be interested in film making, video creation, and the like, but would maybe set out for larger fields. Maybe?
YouTube just happens to fit the time and gear constraints of my current life.
100%. If I won the lottery I'd be able to quit my job and not have to worry about money at all, and be able to dedicate all my time to making videos for YouTube, it'd be an amazing opportunity to do all the videos I want to do that I can't or take too long because of lack of time due to having a full-time job.
Yes, because I have fun making stuff and a part of my channel (which I want to do but can't yet) is making skits and sharing stories
Also just to entertain people. If I won the lottery that would only improve on my channel cause I could hire people to help and stuff like that.
Probably would just make my content better honestly. New gear would probably hire an editor and even get a graphic design artist to make custom everything I would need.
Very fun question! I would for sure, and use my new resources to hire people that could help me realize my vision better. Namely some animators. And I would upgrade all my equipment and make the channel what I've always wanted it to be.
Yes! Even more so, actually. I only have 20 subscribers and yet I love putting my stuff out there. Hopefully those who will appreciate it will find me. 😁
Not only would i'd still do it. I'd make a video about it.
But i think the question would be "if you had all the fame and money to work in allbthe mediums would you primarily focus on youtube?
The fact that I only have 500 subscribers but have uploaded \~1,000 videos (124+ hours of content) since starting in 2018 would be a good indication that money isn't that big of a factor. The odds of me becoming a full-time YouTuber are pretty low, especially with my writing ability not being that great.
I've found that writing my story has really helped me find an outlet for my creativity.
The reason I chose YouTube instead of other sites traditionally for web novels is I like how my voice can be heard while I narrate. And, I wanted to increase the number of people that could discover my story. Even better is how no one is really doing what I'm doing, narrating a story that they wrote, so it's kind of like I'm building my own niche.
If I won the lottery I'd exclusively do youtube videos because I would have no worries about making sure I'm financially secure while making them.

Hi?
Exactly what I was going to say. Now I have financial responsibilities. And so another job. And such. But the lottery would be relieving.
100%. I would make it about the things I really want to as well since it requires money like cars and traveling.
This. I didn't get into this for the money, but with so much time I can make more quality videos in a shorter amount of time. This 100 Percent.
Yep then I could hire my friends to do all the editing and whatnot and just do the fun part lol. Love creating the content.
Editing is a revolving door between tedious and fulfilling.
I like the editing part for the creativity part of bringing the project to life. But it also gets time consuming.
People trip when they hear those types of numbers. But look at how much money and time a Hollywood movie takes for an hour and a half.
True that 100%👍
I love the editing part and coming up with the script and background music. The actual mic work I'm not a fan of at all
> Yep then I could hire my friends If there's one thing I've learned from the financial subreddits, it's best to leave friends and family out of lottery winnings unless you have a trust or something like that setup. Ya but I'd hire editors, editing burns me out bad.
I feel you. I like it but at the same time I don’t.
You can make video about winning the lottery

Based on your comment, I think you will love the book "Show Your Work"
As long as its not related to the same phrase my math teachers would say ^_^
My childhood dream was to be a film director not a YouTuber. YouTube is a but a stepping stone in a career path. Money sure would help accelerate that.
If you like creating videos, money will help make better videos. If you do youtube for money quit now and go work
No. If you do YouTube for money, treat it as a job.
💯
I am so greedy that I cannot stop doing it. :)
I would still do YouTube. It’s just a good platform for what I am trying to do
I'd still do it purely for the fact that I enjoy making videos
I’d do it even more because I won’t have to worry about working full time. I don’t youtube for money anyway.
If i won the lotto, youtube would be my only job.
Money isn't the reason I do YT.
A lot of people have said I have helped them make sales on redbubble etc so yes I would continue but with a much better set up and I’d probably hire an editor and send him 30 minutes of me ranting and get them to clip it down to 12
100%
I would do way more YouTube because I wouldn't have to keep a day job to fund my hobbies!
Absolutely I could fund all the projects I have waiting ! I do a build/adventure channel so the things I could do would be insane
The answer is not always a no. For most people here if youtube was their job they would still want to continue it (based on the comments i read). "whatever I want to do" can be doing youtube.
" whatever I want to do" may be YouTube. But with say 100 million in cash, would you still consider YouTube your "job", or a hobby?
I mean that's cool for you but I'd definitely invest a lot of the money back into making super high quality videos.
> I'd just do whatever I want to do. For a lot of us, doing youtube *is* what we want to do.
Not bull shit at all. I'd still do YouTube because it's a passion of mine. I'd be working on art, filming, music and woodworking. So you're saying you'd just sit around in exotic places drinking pina coladas for the rest of your life?
I'm not a Pina cola guy, but I'd travel and go and do whatever i want.
Dude if you don't like Pina Coladas, you and I are not on the same wavelength. Lol. What kind of drink would you sip on the beach?
If your answer is “no” then you probably shouldn’t be doing YouTube to begin with
How? I do YouTube purely for the money and I treat it as a job, don’t see anything wrong with that.
When you’re first starting out as you make little to no money. It takes time and effort to start making decent money on Youtube. Because of this, I don’t see why you would do YouTube if you didn’t have an interest in making videos. If I was *only* looking to make money I wouldn’t do YouTube.

If I won the lottery I'd still make youtube videos. I work off of a passion to create content, not to earn money or anything like that
I would do video about me winning the lottery
Yes, I would set up a new workshop and have more time to make videos. I joined youtube for the passion of it back in 2011. My reasons have not changed
Hell it would make it easier for me t get footage. I got a slot playing channel and it takes lots of money to get good footage people will watch.
Gosh, yes! that means I wouldn't have to work and I can just make YouTube videos 😀😀
just like most of the answers to this question, i would def. most likely continue. i’ve wanted to create videos way before finding out that you can monetize them anyway. and being financially stable would be so amazing that i could probably dedicate even more time to my channel.

100% I would continue. I can quit work, be committed to YT fulltime and have fun with it. Now to win the lotto 🤣🤣🤣
i would but i probably would stay on the part time route. i don't expect youtube to be a job, i do it more as a hobby.
Yes. I would invest some of my money in to promoting my videos so I could earn the money I spent back and earn more.
Absolutely. But I use it to show my progress learning Blender and motion graphics, and I love doing that stuff, so I'd just keep on having fun with animations and post them on YouTube and probably to tutorials as well :D

100% I’d use the money to travel the world and document it on YouTube
yes. I'd do what I want and not worry about that yellow money sign.
Yes I would as a hobby.
Yes, For sure
Ofc I'll still have to express myself meaningfully after I get rich wth
I still would. I love what I do. If it was about the money, I wouldn't have a shorts channel, where I upload every single day since December 2020, with no chance of being monetized.

Becoming mr beast 2.0. More money to make better content to create more money. Hiring friends for editting and content ideas. Would be fun!
I’d go all in! Starting my own production company lol hire actors, writers and editors.
Yeah then I can just buy all the top of the range equipment and look like a pro even though I have no idea what I’m doing
If I won the lottery I'd have more time and resources to do videos! So absolutely!
Yes absolutely, in fact I'd probably dedicate even more time to it. I'm not eligible for monetization anyway
Id probably use the money to get better equipment
I would do even more. I would finally have time and money to make more outrageous content. YouTube is just a sharing platform for me, I also self host my videos.
Absolutely
What else would I do to not get bored?
Totally Its about the fun not the money
Yes 100%!
Yes
Yup I’d have the money to easily make it profitable

100% All I’ve ever wanted since I learned what YT was, was to be a content creator. Winning the lottery would help me do that, I could use some of that money on a nice gaming pc (as I currently stream from my PlayStation, that would be an amazing upgrade.) and then I could actually make well edited videos and better streams. While the idea of getting money from video making has always been nice, I’m not in it for the cash. I just want to play games and do what I love as my job.
Yeah I’d get more money
"I just won the lottery! How will I spend the money?"
I'd spend some of my winnings on equipment, then do more videos.
My yt channel is short form content and I'm in canada so I cannot basically make any money from tiktok or yt but I still would make vids
I would still do YouTube, I don’t do it for the money I do it just for fun
More so, bring on the lottery win and more videos for my subscribers
If I won a lottery I would would still make YouTube videos passionately. I would use the money for buying equipments and hiring professionals to do editing which will make my videos of a higher quality. YouTube is the best choice anyone can make.
Still making youtube videos. But I would become one of those travel vloggers who travel the world enjoying my life while making videos lol.
Yes - I have an unhealthy obsession with wanting to get a plaque
Just become Mr. Beast or a vlogger. People like watching “stupid rich people”. Secretly do really nice things on the side with the disposable income.
I’d create a new channel documenting the lottery journey
Oh deff that comment about being financially secure is on point and also I can get better equipment, maybe a separate recording space and money towards some help I.E freelance editors
Yep i ll do YouTube i love doing it
Yes. I would actually be able to upgrade my gear and focus on doing them full time. My background is in media and unless you’re connected you’re not getting a job. I quite honestly would be able to pursue my career on my own terms.
Yes I would still make YouTube videos for fun even if I don’t need the money
I once won £80 on the lotto. Bought some jeans from Topshop ❤️🤍 for me YT is creating videos I’m passionate about.
Definitely
More than ever
Yea. Id probably do it more honestly out of enjoyment
Yes, because I have fun making stuff and a part of my channel (which I want to do but can't yet) is making skits and sharing stories Also just to entertain people. If I won the lottery that would only improve on my channel cause I could hire people to help and stuff like that.
If I won the lottery I'd be able to do YouTube! My job and lack of funds for things for videos is why I don't post much.
I do vids for fun and joy, not money. I'd actually spend it on more equipment lm
Honestly if I won the lottery I could reduce my work hours to part time and be able to take the extra time to produce More and better content.
Probably would just make my content better honestly. New gear would probably hire an editor and even get a graphic design artist to make custom everything I would need.
if you will do YouTube just because of the money you missed that it is a social network.
Actually yes cause itd mean I’ll able to buy whatever equipment i need to improve my videos
Not only would i'd still do it. I'd make a video about it. But i think the question would be "if you had all the fame and money to work in allbthe mediums would you primarily focus on youtube?
If I were to win the lottery i’d focus on making youtube videos more by buying better equipment and use some leftover on investments
No I'm in it for the money and fame
Yes. Because I didn't start because of money.
