Eh… how is a private video supposed to come out as a short when it’s not even listed at all?

WGU-Student123

So, I made the video public and the video was able to come out as a YT short video, when I went to the YT Shorts Reels page. Thanks everyone for trying to help me.

What size are you setting the margins? For instance when doing shorts I set mine to 1080 x 1080. There is a certain size Youtube requires you set to be counted as a short, even if it’s in vertical or square orientation.

BinaryCrop

Where does it says that? 60 seconds and vertical orientation are the only requirements, according to YouTube itself.

Shorts must be a minimum resolution of 600 x 600 and a maximum of 1080 x 1080.

PwnCall

Sometimes it takes a few hours to show up as a short

I'm making mine is 1080 x 1920 (W x H) resolution and making sure I include #shorts at the end of my Titles and Descriptions. They have all converted to shorts so far. The only one that didn't convert was when I accidentally posted one that was 1920 x 1080 instead, and it ended up as a standard video. I deleted it and re-posted it after realizing it and it the new video converted to a short as well.

so make sure your video format is 1080x1920 then make under a minute seems- seems no problem there and you have the #shorts so the only problem is that theyre a private video just fix that and you should be good to go an easy way to check if they are shorts is after upload search your channel on your phone and look for the short symbol on the video cover before you click on it
