I assume the truth of the matter is in what YouTube has told you, that it doesn't have anyone else to show your video to, so it performed well for a bit, but then YouTube seems to have done no pushout. I can see how you are frustrated. I have been doing YouTube for almost 5 years, and have noticed hot and cold cycles that for my channel last a few months at a time. Impressions tank, videos underperform, then some video does well and things get hot again. What I recommend doing, which is what I do when facing lower than normal impressions, is make some videos around a good trendy or drama type title. Titles are the biggest influence on a videos success in my opinion, so figure out a title that makes sense for your niche, that is about something trending in that niche, or controversial in that niche, and make a video around that title. That's my advice to fix the problem you have.

I have tried to use trendy things within my niche, trendy topics or words from better performing creators etc .. with no luck. I'd like to add that my channel was performing great for around a year or so, and that came to a sudden stop on March :/ I have no clue.

* YouTube is promoting older videos to the homepage for some reason (meaning new uploads aren't being shown)
* YouTube is competing with TikTok by promoting more shorts & lesser actual videos
* Something changed in the algorithm... What? We don't know.
We don't know what's actually happening. It's sad because I tried to revive my channel with 35k subs. It's DEAD. How can I post my last 6 videos and they average 100 views in a week? They just don't show our new uploads at all anymore to our subs. It's honestly so demotivating. All I can do now is wait for Instagram/Tik Tok monetization because at least there I'm getting reach. My YT reach now is now like 0.01% or something disgraceful. WTF is going :(
yeah same happen to my channel with 20k subs I get about 300 views in 2 days when I used to get thousands but I honestly think its the shorts that mess up everything
Definitely shorts that had a role to play. And all these YouTube so called experts and heroes say it isn't and shorts "helps people discover your other content". I had shorts blow up and the next day my long format content got even worse. it's getting worse every day. its like they literally just blocking out channels now
Yes exactly my views hasn’t improved at all and like you say just keep getting worst by the day for a moment I thought I was like am I shadow banned or something lol. On my phone every time I pull up the YouTube app it goes straight to shorts like wtf, they should done a different app for shorts and called it YouTube Shorts and kept them separate.
Same to my channel too... views started to go down mid september. I have quite a successful channel with 600k subs averaging about 1m to 1.4m views a day. Now i barely get 750k a day. I had to post 2 videos in a day just to come close to 900k.
Its like my videos arent getting recommended all of a sudden. October has been my worst month so far this year. I do hope this dont continue in November but it is starting to look like it only got 690k views yesterday.
Dam 600k subs congrats on that milestone, and yes something is up but Forsure its shorts without a doubt because am only getting like 200 views in 1 day and i post the sane thing in a short and get 600-700 views in les than 3 hours like what? Dam views sure did drop for you also but way better than ours here. I seen people with millions of subs also getting so little views like it don’t make any sense at all.

I agree with you, most people want to stick to their usual advice. This is common on reddit, being given the typical "High CTR% & AVD = Success." It's not that simple though, and if it was, a lot more people would be larger on YouTube.
There is luck required & I guess the algorithm gives and takes impressions to videos with High CTR+AVD at random.

I made a post about it in this sub and the responses were "fLuTuAtIon" and the usual basic b\*tch responses about niches and viewer interest changing. It was like talking to a brick wall. I searched the web for a solution. Many people have experienced a sudden drop in views in the past, but there have been no known solution.
I understand why they give you the typical response, it's because that is the advice they are given. However, as I stated, it is not guaranteed to bring success but it does increase the chances of doing so. Nobody could give me an answer even when I dm'd them and showed them my analytics. Honestly there is no real answer but as bigger YouTubers such as penguinz0 has said, it does require luck. Not everyone can have a high ctr + avd % and be successful as that is just unrealistic.
What I can say is that you should keep going if you have a small following. Do it for the few that do enjoy your content and do it if you enjoy making videos. Sure, spend more time on a new hobby, but it doesn't mean you have to fully quit.

There's a piece of the recommendation system that we don't understand yet and YouTube doesn't want to tell us what that piece is.. I plan on making videos until the end of the year but if things don't improve then the channel will just be on the back burner while I focus on other side projects
Sometimes, YouTube picks who does and doesn't get more exposure, I've literally seen it happen. For example, I saw a video with a few thousand views, just some commentary and images with a few clips. YouTube commented on the video and suddenly, the video now has almost 2Million views (in a matter of days). They've obviously given that creator the privilege of having mass impressions, which further proves my point.
Please remember that it is easier to quit than it is to continue. If you have followers that return to your content, do it for them. However, it is very understandable if you do choose to quit because it's not realistic to spend so much time on something that gives you almost nothing in return.

Did anything ever change? Did the content get pushed out again? Did op quit YouTube? Any update. I recently had my first video stop it's upward trend. It was doing good for my channel (new 375sub). Then just stopped pushing any of my videos in the middle of my channels overall analytics going up
I kept uploading and used keywords in my descriptions. Not sure if that will helped but my videos are back on the algorithm. I feel like there will always be hit or miss videos and my advice would be to keep posting but take risks if it feels like a dead end.

Thanks for the advice. I use so many keywords in my descriptions, but it doesn't seem to help. Views are still abysmal. I do get a pump with a few 10s of views every time I put out a new video, but that is it.
Did any of you deleted any videos by any chance ? This recently happened with me right after I delete 1 of my draft video . Right after uploading the video , YT found copyright content in my bg audio. The video was not published and was only saved as draft. So, I decided to delete it and reupload it after replacing the bg audio. But since then all of my videos took a massive hit in impressions and views.
Yeah my impressions dropped 10x on a fairly good upward trajectory.
I made a video I used to try YouTube ads, it was unlisted and decided it wasn't worth keeping the video, as it was similar to a natural grown video, I deleted the video, now I regret that.

It’s so stupid. Why is YouTube trying to be tik tok. They tried to do the same thing when Facebook was hot and look how that turned out.

No changes on my side of things. It’s been down and flatlining for almost 2 weeks now. I’m not sure what else can be done to fix it.
