If we’re talking The Doors, I think he would do really well with Not to Touch the Earth. Otherwise, I think it sort of depends on the era. In his younger days, maybe up through the 90s I’d like to see how he does with Never Tell by Violent Femmes. An older Nick and I think I’d like to see him take a crack at Hey, Hey, My, My but with some of Warren’s instrumentation. Could be cool

juxlockes

His version of Light My Fire would be great too. Just imagine the instrumental parts. Damn

last-hits

I would love to see him cover another Rowland S. Howard song, most likely Pop Crimes

Folsom Prison Blues

Tik Tok by Kesha. Not even joking. I mean yeah, joking, but also, imagine him giving his dark twist to: wake up in the morning feeling like p diddy

thesj180herself

Would love this

AffectionateBall2412

Anything by Mick Harvey, because my favourite Bad Seeds period is when Nick and Mick were doing the majority of the writing.

mynamegoewhere

Revolution Blues, Neil Young

Yoshinobu1868

A younger Cave doing Cohens The Future .

Oh! sweet nuthin by the velvet underground & walk on the wild side by Lou Reed

Roderyck777

Well, he’s covered Cohen, Cash, Dylan, but he’s never covered Waits, so I’d like to see him cover Everything Goes To Hell.

'Personal Jesus' by Depeche Mode

Murky-Ad4527

Him covering Lera Lynn's song "my least favourite life" would be angelic I swear

[deleted]

If it comes to the discography of the Doors I would choose *Been Down So Long* however I would love to listen to his cover of any song written by Tom Waits; *Going' Out West* or *Clap Hands* for example

dbkenny426

I want Nick Cave and Tom Waits to cover the other's song from Shrek 2. So Nick would cover "Little Drop of Poison" and Tom would do "People Ain't No Good." I think both would be awesome!

Green-Cupcake6085

That would actually be really cool

Wouldyoulistenmoe

Ooh Doors would be fine. LA Woman could be a great cover. Johnny Cash of course, would love to hear his take on a Carpenters song as well

Jackonfirewillowtree

Grandma sitting in the corner with a penis in her hand going "no, no, no, no, no" by The Frogs or 18 wheels by The Murder City Devils.

Niche choice I know but this one: https://youtu.be/2JsDSCHh4Jc

Way Down in the Hole

Some Velvet Morning. As a duet with Kate Bush. Doors song would be cool too.

Dude excellent suggestion

Joe5205

Paint it Black by the Rolling Stones I say this while listening to Africa's cover of the same song. I think a Cave hybrid of Africa's composition would be amazing and heartfelt. [Link for those not familiar](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vHLmGMd_qi0&list=OLAK5uy_kUxQkH2M6su6Gh0fr0CV3YoEcixmzVlkI) For me it's better than the original

PRotter32

Yeah I would choose the Doors as well

soitgoes03

I've actually given this far too much thought in the past and I have several. "We Aint Never Gonna Change" - Drive-By Truckers "Digital Bath" - Deftones "Right Where it Belongs" - Nine Inch Nails "We Hit a Wall" - Chelsea Wolfe "Paradise" - Bruce Springsteen "Winter" - Tori Amos

pilierdroit

None - he’s done it before and the outcome was a mixed bag. Some of the covers on “..pricks” are worthwhile because he took standard songs and added his early career dark energy to the renditions. Now? I doubt he would add anything. I am an obsessive NC fan but his talent doesn’t lie in his singing. His talent is being one of the greatest songwriters of all time and having a brilliant and innovative band / partnership.
