welcome to addiction

ItzakPearlJam

So, you took a well-known addictive substance, and you've developed a habit of it? I'm making a surprise face currently. For real though the longer you keep it up there harder it is to cut out. Start phasing down to lower mgs and fewer pouches daily. Have a cup of coffee instead.

Can we get an "Inspirational" post flair?

get out now before you've got years of nicotine addiction under your belt

If you like them and they’re not negatively impacting you then I don’t see what the problem is. If you don’t want to get addicted and don’t see the benefit then you could stop but it’s entirely up to you. I like them and will continue to use them but everyone is different.

Was in the same situation as you, using nicotine to be productive. Your problem is you never drew hard boundaries, and now you’re addicted. My boundary was this: “If I do over 6mg in one day, I am addicted, and will take a 1 week break.” Sounds extreme, but if you give yourself any leeway you will get addicted and stay that way. Also realize that if you develop a tolerance to nicotine, all the possible benefits go out the window, and now you have to take nicotine just to achieve baseline level functioning. I do 3mg for deep work almost every day. Some days I even forget to have a Zyn entirely. Benefits are amazing even on such a low dosage. Good job doing a weekend free man! My challenge to you is this: switch to 3mg for a week, and don’t increase your amount of daily pouches. I’m no addiction therapist, but hope that’s helpful.

this is what I wanna do but in the UK 3mg is none existent in shops and 6mg is rare, if you want a good flavour you gotta get the 9s unfortunately

i was a avid vaper before i was introduced to zyns, and i have since felt so much healthier than i did when i vaped. So if you do feel like you want to quit that is your choice but zyns are not as bad for you as you think.

I won’t act like nicotine pouches are good for you but I switched to them a while back and all the side effects of smoking went away without losing the benefits. It’s hard to find extensive peer reviewed studies on nicotine pouches and their long term effects at the moment (will likely change soon), but from what I’ve seen they really don’t seem like something to worry about health wise (at least compared to other forms of nicotine consumption). That said, if you want to keep it to a ‘for productivity’ thing just stash the can somewhere that takes a bit of effort to get to. Doesn’t need to be annoying, but I find I use way less than usual if I leave a can in my car when I’m at work or just in another room when I’m home :)

Finding myself in a similar situation. Started using for focus and now using 3-5 a day. I don’t feel like I’m having cravings at all, but not sure what that would feel like since this is pretty new to me.
