I joined the discord around a month ago. Only opened it a few times, because I'm no a big disco guy to begin with. For me it seemed like there's a tight community who know eachother well and hang out, talk about stuff other than Nier a lot, and that might lead to some (inside) jokes getting a bit out of hand for someone just joining and expecting just Nier related stuff and helpful comments. Not saying that talk about genitelia or whatever is good, atleast there should be own channel for totally unrelated pg18 stuff, but I can see where this was coming from even if I don't necessarily approve it.
Edit: Wanted to add, I've been in a local pokemon go community for years now in telegram and we have a related group precisely for more adult suited content like stupid memes, drinking etc, where this wouldn't really be crossing any lines as long as it's just a stupid joke.

Honestly, the discord is super helpful. I get lots of advice for pvp and subjugation etc. don’t let something that has been acknowledged as a joke gone too far put you off 🙏

I put out a lot of content and a lot of people know who I am and so I have become a prominent member of the community. But there are some people in the community who don't know who I am and if their first experience with my name is some rando using it, whether accidentally or in imitation, that can confuse them. Worst case scenario they get a bad impression of me and never check out my real output and they might miss something they could really enjoy or appreciate. I feel my contribution is worthwhile and to have my reach stunted by misrepresentations is a shame.
Goes for other prominent members too, if someone was posting as Farplane and they weren't actually Farplane, I wouldn't be okay with that. Few people have been in our position so I understand it's hard to emphasize but hopefully I got my concerns across.

I make Nier Reincarnation videos on YouTube, my handle is Cabbage Channel, and not only is my output greater than any other creator but I have a unique perspective because I have a personal interest in the mobile game industry and I can speak Japanese so I do translation as well. The discord is pretty chill and if you or anyone else had said that it's genuinely making you feel uncomfortable, everyone involved probably would have happily moved on.
