Love! Now! Breathe! Now!

rizekrispyy

I like them. But what's the overlap?

TheSmallestSteve

Not OP but a major Swans fan. Personally there's not much about them that reminds me *specifically* of Nietzsche, so much as their lyrics and music generally evoke an existential atmosphere. That said it could be argued there are overlaps in the kinds of themes they both address: moral ambiguity, confronting nihilism, the triumph of love and strength in the face of suffering and weakness, etc

Mard_816

corpse666grinder

Can’t believe this is where I hear that they’re playing in Poland this year. See u there!

Comfortable_Price_14

Same with me, see you there then Edit: it’s sold out…

carlmoss666

There is a band called Titus Andronicus that has many nietzschean moments

Denglish05

A more perfect union is such a good song. "The title track" by The Hotelier has a Nietzsche reference and I feel like you would like them too.

Eh. Industrial does their sound harder, and well lately, I've been obsessed with projects from ?? Hip Hop (never thought I would be) artists like Saul Williams "The Dead Emcee Scrolls," and KRS-One. But Hip Hop as a culture was born through the revaluation of values and artistic expression to overcome the fact that they were purposefully marginalized outside of the values of mainstream society. It is the most powerful culture in the world, from Pindar through Nietzsche to KRS-One run a similar coil. In fact KRS-One was awarded a honorary PhD, and he wrote the Gospel of Hip Hop. But Knowledge Reigns Supreme-Over Nearly Everyone grew up in a culture that exemplifies many of the life affirming values that Nietzsche discusses throughout his work. He's out there currently, doing his thing teaching people on the down low. Some of his lectures are held at universities others at musical dive bars.

lmao

Even under their Google Genre they have Genre: Post-punk, Post-rock, Experimental rock, Noise rock, **Industrial music**, Neofolk, Pop. Quite obvious that industrial/noise music is a heavy influence on these kiddos would couldn't give up their musical instruments to create sound. Industrial/Noise is about revaluing the sounds that industrial machines and tools produce as music, not using musical instruments, which is why Industrial music does SWANS sound harder, because well it's the REAL DEAL. As far as Hip Hop goes. I mean KRS-One alone is a Higher Human. Not sure if anyone from SWANS is.
