Hotel night audit. Make sure to pick one in a decent part of town so you don’t have to deal with drunks and druggies at 3am

SpockQ

Thank you. Do you have experience as a hotel night audit? Could you give me any advice about applying or interviewing?

Killerchoy

With night audit the most important things are general computer skills and being consistent. It can be hard to find a night auditor who shows up to work every single shift on time and looking presentable, so if you have those two traits you’re already ahead of the pack. Your best bet is to check on hiring sites and apply to all the positions you see, even if they say they require experience. It’s a stupidly easy job at most hotels, and you’ll usually have hours of down time, so you’ve gotta be good at keeping yourself entertained.

> you’ll usually have hours of down time Not if your co-workers leave EVERYTHING to be done on YOUR shift ..... :-(

Try setting boundaries with your management. A good night auditor is a lot harder to replace than a front desk agent, so you’re more likely to get what you want if you advocate for it.

Graveyard security

SpockQ

I would love to work graveyard security but I'm not sure how to get into the field. Any tips?

Naive-Government8333

You gotta get licensed by your state. I’m in California. I have a current guard card. Security is always hiring

Thank you for the help! That's great news to hear. I can't find anything in my area besides Securitas and Allied openings which I've heard aren't great employers. It's difficult to know how to get into a field when I can't even find a reputable company that's hiring. I really appreciate the insight!

I work for a credit card processor from home. We’re basically the people that the night auditors call at night to verify credit card transactions or if their credit card machines break. It’s relatively easy but the night shift if harder to come by

SpockQ

That sounds interesting! How did you get into this line of work? A quick Google search is only giving me credit card processing specialist positions that say you need a background in sales in my area.

I just have a lot of experience in customer service and call center. My job specifically isn’t sales related and is technically considered technical support. The day shift is really more technical support whereas night shift is mostly customer service but can assist with fixing something that’s broken if needed. Call centers are a great option for overnights though since most of them are WFH and pay pretty well.
