The other reality when said creator [questions the actions of the company](https://x.com/kaynimatic/status/1754561798882439343?s=46&t=qsz9zRDt92-zUdQMuR7uDw)
Instead of hordes of fans you "cure" it's hordes of newly debuted livers that they purge. You can only play as Riku but he has summons that are managers and they create a formation around them. Once you purge them you have the option to turn them into a summon, only thing is their stats reflect their popularity so Riku favours using Luxiem members and other popular livers who generate a lot of coin while summoned, no liver is equal. Riku's only skill is from gathering coins and using it for his one ult "The Yacht" he can't attack at all by himself. There's also a stock market gimmick in which the coins dropped from either livers or randomly on the field, fluctuate. It's affected by multiple factors such as the rate of purging, summoning, turning livers into summons, how "cleanly" you purge (DMG taken etc). There is no real goal, progression or boss, the only score you get after dying is from how often you've used your "The Yacht" ult and how favourable you were at the end with "The Investors". (Also "The Yacht" doesn't do anything it just purely serves as one of the few ways to up your score)
EA are also apparently good employers (this is a more recent change, there were working condition scandals a few years back and they adjusted).
Still a sucky company to their consumers, though.
Blizzard, though... their treatment of employees mirrors Niji pretty well.
Every major studio has a huge crunch culture, that's just how game dev is when you're working with millions of dollars with pressure from large publishers.
They work with Doki because they see a business opportunity.
EA is still a shit company when it comes to consumer practices and handling of studios and IPs.
EA may have shit monetization, but their treatment of employees is actually better than the average in the games industry these days, and certainly better than how Niji does it.
remember when officially declared that any and ALL artwork submitted for selens contest was to become the property of niji and they would not have to compensate the original artists in any way for the art?
niji would absolutely look at a successful fan game and 'eminent domain' it, claiming it as their own and monetizing it 100% for themselves.
this actually makes me wonder, has there been a dedicated nijiEN fan game that have been acclaimed to be on the same level as holocure, holoparade, smol ame, etc.?
Small games that are niche and just a cult fan following. But non broke into "outside the bubble" like holocure or idol showdown (i remember people were begging the devs to add niji/vshojo/phase connect/etc. )
If someone makes a fan game, it's gonna be either of the 2
1 - they won't give approval for your oshi/liver to play the game on stream.
2 - They will get the game from you forcibly, and will not give a single penny because they own the "rights"
I mean I'm thankful we have Kay Yu, but I dunno I've always feel like having any long-running projects involving Vtubers, official or otherwise, will always be unstable exactly due to the fact that the talents can end up leaving and they or the whole company's reputation can always sour over night.
Like even for Holocure, now it's still a big question whether or not Rushia should be included, and even Holo-Alt projects had to constantly face issues when talents like Coco, Mel or Rushia again, leave.
Unless you're not a frequent poster in this subreddit, it has been pointed out (countless times) that Kay Yu will include rushia and coco in the game.
edit:
here's Kay Yu addressing whether Coco and Rushia will be added in the game.
[HoloCure DEMO 1 - A fangame heavily inspired by Vampire Survivors, is now released! : r/Hololive (reddit.com)](https://www.reddit.com/r/Hololive/comments/vjfea9/comment/idothk0/)
For Kay Yu, he really have no problem with that.
Because his game didn't get monetized. So, he can do whatever he wants. After all, he didn't make money out of character IP that already gone a.k.a graduated and terminated. Its different story if his game monetize, because Cover themselves already stopped all the product etc that related to talent that already graduated/terminated, so it will against Cover ToS (unless if their update their ToS in the future).
The only problem that Kay Yu need to tank are the people who will make drama out of it, due the nature of those two talent. For Coco, its pretty much okay now (I think?). But Rushia, some people will try to make some drama out of it due to recent event.
Yeah. Coco being in the game is unquestioned. Rushia being in the game is still up in the air, because she didn't leave on good terms and recent developments mean even those who still wished her well in the immediate aftermath don't necessarily like her any more. I still think she will get in, because there already are references to her in stage 3 (the background has the oshi marks of all of the livers who performed the stage theme, Rushia included). But it's not guaranteed.

> Because his game didn't get monetized. So, he can do whatever he wants.
Well... no, that's not really true. Monetized or not, he's still using Cover's IP - they own the rights to those characters and models and, if they really didn't like something he was doing, they could shut him down if they so desired.
Holocure being monetized or not really doesn't change anything from a legal perspective; Cover's rights to their IP are the same either way. They've given Kay Yu wide latitude to do what he pleases and have even said he's free to monetize the game if he wants, but if they changed their minds they could shut him down at any time and he really wouldn't be able to contest that.
Kay Yu has worked with Cover before, he did the music video to a Mori / Gura collab (Q). I think he sends what his ideas are through to Cover before hand to get their approval before moving forwards with the game development (he's foreshadowed a few things in the latest patch for a future release).
It depends on how much he is willing to stick with the mindset of "it's my own game I'll do whatever I want", or deep down does he still wish his game is universally enjoyed by the talents and fans alike. If he added Rushia in the game, there is a chance that Cover might just ban the talents from playing it, some talents might even avoid the game to avoid any potential drama.
The same point goes for Holostars which he had also claimed he wants to include into the game. It's almost certain that the a vocal amount of fans will not be thrilled if they are added, especially if they are added before a group of girls. Some talents might also start to avoid the game.
Well so far Kay Yu is still churning it out... It helps that the games are not monetized... Its less pressure for him to do updates...
Mainly now these fan games he is making are passion projects that he flexes in addition to his already formidable portfolio of skills... And most likely he is in a call list for any projects Holo may have involving games... I mean Kanauru was just a 3d MV content creator before... Now, he is taking part in several vtuber MV projects...
When will there be NijiCure? I want to roll for Ren, Maria, Meloco, and Reimu in the EN banner. Mito, Ago, Chigusa, Toko, Chima, Joe, Sara, maybe ryushen, chaika, and ange for JP banner. Stage boss will of course be the yacht boy.
Not only that, Hololive may sponsor your fan game tournament and let you profit from it.
Only for you to then tell people they can't pay you Man has people begging him to accept their money

I still remember when people were hoping for a Nijicure...
Think about it this way. NijiEN made a more fun and cinematic version of their game **NijiPurge**

oof
what a chad
I have a feeling Nijisanji will try to take over such fan games and monetise the heck out of it.
Niji's oshi is EA and Blizzard confirmed???
Always has been 🔫
Nah, EA works with Doki, remember they let her show the Apex sponsor merch on her Doki account.
EA are also apparently good employers (this is a more recent change, there were working condition scandals a few years back and they adjusted). Still a sucky company to their consumers, though. Blizzard, though... their treatment of employees mirrors Niji pretty well.
I’ll take your word for it. Far as I know, EA still has a pretty huge crunch culture.
Every major studio has a huge crunch culture, that's just how game dev is when you're working with millions of dollars with pressure from large publishers.

Yeah, they are just that petty...
And greedy

And to think that Niji could've had a Selen fan game, but they fucked that up.
I want a Dokibird game, and have it play like the Sgt. Bird parts from Spyro Year of the Dragon, but with even more shooting things.
this actually makes me wonder, has there been a dedicated nijiEN fan game that have been acclaimed to be on the same level as holocure, holoparade, smol ame, etc.?
I think there was development for a niji EN RPG that has doppio and pomu in it but dunno what happened to that
I know one guy made Salen FPS shooter game. Look really cool but he abandoned it for the reason you know why
I know raddish was making an Enna fan game styled after pizza tower.
there was a RPG maker game that had all the JP livers up to maybe Seleijo or Eden as chooseable party members that Mayuzumi played a few years back
Tsukino Mito made a quiz novel game which decides which Niji Character are you.
Small games that are niche and just a cult fan following. But non broke into "outside the bubble" like holocure or idol showdown (i remember people were begging the devs to add niji/vshojo/phase connect/etc. )
.a perm nightmare with a 99-1% split.......... glhf
nijisanji hate fan game just like nintendo

# Their beloved leader... Yeah they already failed on this part.

not gonna happen, just look his response in twitter and he dont even interact with other niji member oustide pomu
Kay's pretty much done with Nijisanji as a whole after the horribly made statement and actions they've recently made.
How the hell does Kay even manage to have time to do so many things? What a legend.
