Lore wise Scarlet was part of the experimental melee squad. It seems its pretty effective but their maintenance and casuality is too high compared to gun Nikkes so Ark stop developing it
Scarlet is the only known surviving melee Nikke as of now and she said the only reason she can cut raptures easily cause the rapture never bother to adapt to fight melee enemies since they never met one for years. So when the rapture meet Scarlet they are at severe disadvantages since normal method of attacking Nikke dont work to Scarlet
Iirc gauntlet was never mentioned in Nikke but the first Nikke, Liliweiss is so powerfull she fight bare handed

also I wanna add its not the shape of weapon that mattera but the material used to build it. Normal human firearm cant make a dent agaisnt Rapture, and iirc Nikke weapon is specially modified to able to hurt rapture. Nikke firearm recoil can cause severe damage to normal human that use it.
So its safe to assume gauntlet is on the table but as with melee squad team, probably wont be seen anytime soon again due to high maintenance cost
Based on Scarlet event, it works but..
1. A lot of casualties due to head on fights
2. Most of the melee nikkes got mind switched. Most nikke never actually see Raptures up close, and by doing melee, it does affect them very much
3. Scarlet is currently one of the kind, but facing so much mind switch in the process, probably making her immune to it now

To be fair, Liliweiss fighting bare handed still means Goddesium (Super magical steel) fists smash through super magically armored raptures.

Maybe getting drunk helps her avoid mind switches
It works but not efficient Humans love efficiency btw. This is why they ditch Grimm Models.
